05/04/2026: We went with some relatives for Easter lunch. There was an a la carte menu, no set menu for the day, which was perhaps a bit of an Achilles heel for the kitchen due to the time constraints. But it wasn't that long, because we also had time to digest and listen to a phenomenal singing duo (Sabrina Dolci was the singer).
The dishes were beautiful and plentiful, and the service was friendly.
I thought the fried mushrooms were superb, as were all the other dishes we ordered, from appetizers to desserts.
As for the price, I'd say it was in line with everything we ordered and ate. We paid €50 per person, but it was definitely worth it.
We'll definitely be back.

Excellent menu, good wine selection.
Excellent service.
Slightly expensive.
The only drawback is that parking is inconvenient, especially for those with disabilities.

22/02/2026: We visited this restaurant with a group of friends and really enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and the service. The owner was truly kind and helpful, carefully explaining each dish and its ingredients.
Unfortunately, I wasn't entirely convinced by the dishes: I found the pairings unbalanced and uninspired. This is a personal assessment, but I think they could improve on this aspect.
Overall, a positive experience, especially for the atmosphere and the hospitality.
20/02/2026: After the obligatory taste of fried pizza and tortelli, we wanted to dine at a less usual restaurant. La Gatta Matta is a very charming and welcoming place. The beautiful menu intro takes diners by the hand and leads them into the concept of gastronomy conceived by this young Apulian couple: heart and flavor. And this love, infused into their dishes, is immediately evident in the colors on the plate and the balance of flavors. The tender mugnoli, along with the pomegranate and Cappelli semolina pasta, stunned me. The ingredients are excellent, and even the chef-made bread is a delicious discovery. We truly enjoyed our stay; should we ever return to Parma, La Gatta Matta will be our first choice.

22/12/2025: It's a bar I often frequent for breakfast or a mid-morning snack: the staff is truly friendly and never fails to make you feel how much they care about their work and their establishment. As for the food and drinks I consume, as I mentioned, it's usually breakfast—coffee, cappuccino, and various pastries—and I can honestly say they're all top-quality.
21/11/2025: Good coffee, superior service, very kind staff, I stopped going there because of the bad smell inside which soaks your clothes, once you leave you take the smell of the bar with you

After an exhibition at Palazzo Diamanti, we tried this place and it was fantastic. The host was exceptional, knowledgeable, and friendly, and the service was prompt and accurate. All the dishes were delicious, and at the end they even treated me to an excellent rum. Well done, I'll try to book again for the next exhibition!

Very nice place, friendly and welcoming staff, truly pleasant atmosphere.
Only personal note: if, like me, you're very sensitive to the cold, be prepared because it tends to get warm inside anyway.

03/04/2026: Unfortunately, the quality of the salad dressing is terrible, extremely acidic and cold. The tigella with ragù is almost nonexistent. Not to mention the quality of the ragù.
The quality has completely changed since the early days. Terrible.
The only redeeming factor is the staff, who are very friendly.
02/04/2026: I had an Emilian gricia, a pantry salad and baked potatoes, all takeaway, really well-packaged, I found everything good, the only shame is that the quantity was a bit small, I would have liked to have eaten 2 more forkfuls!

28/03/2026: A good spot for a casual stop in the countryside. The chicken cutlet and tortellini are delicious, the desserts are delightful (especially the house-made one), and the tigelle and crescentine are standard fare. Avoid busy days, as the hustle and bustle can affect the service.

The two of us ate five piadinas and crescioni, and we left feeling truly satisfied 🤤

The tagliatelle and tagliata were excellent.
The semifreddo was worth trying.
It should be chosen just for Merlino's courtesy and friendliness.

13/03/2026: A true classic for Castel d'Aiano. The hotel is affordable but clean and more than decent. The restaurant is phenomenal. It's just a shame that almost nothing remains in Castel d'Aiano, so it's recommended for everyone, but only for short stays or longer stays for older people who want to escape the summer heat of the city during the warmest months.
