Pretty disappointed by the food. The tortellini were hard and the broth was too salty. The lamb was a big pile of bones and fat. Most of the restaurant is in the basement. They make it look cute but it's not the nicest atmosphere. It was the most expensive meal of the whole trip.

10/10 for the restaurant, service and food.
Tried pumpkin tortellini. It was so damn good that I never had something similar before. The service was also perfect. The people are so polite and kind.

Franco Rossi is a very traditional restaurant close to Bologna city center. Its cuisine is traditional as well, without any innovative or inventive twist but offering dishes in line with the local tradition. The setting as well is rather dull but the location is good.

An excellent restaurant with friendly and efficient service, interesting decor and a varied menu of local specialities. We arrived at 7 o'clock without a reservation and were welcomed to a nice table by the window. The starters and desserts were preceded by a small snack. One of the desserts 'zuppa inglesa' turned out not to be a soup (see picture) and I was given a long story about Queen Elizabeth which apparently explains the name of the dish.

Il posto è, per fortuna, sempre lo stesso: nella centrale Via Goito, con lo stesso interno, raccolto, datato ma accogliente, distintivo e piacevole. Il patròn, che sa fare il suo mestiere come pochi, ti accoglie come un principe, ma senza esagerazioni, e ti delizia con i suoi classici, che ogni volta non posso fare a meno di ordinare: salumi emiliani, tortellini (fatti ad arte), cotechino di produzione artigianale con purè di patate. Ogni volta, è tutto molto, molto buono e non dispiace pagare un conto non proprio economico, a fronte di tanta qualità e di un'accoglienza davvero rara.

Somewhat expensive for what is served, our meal was decent, but slightly put off by the seats that we had at the very end of the dining area outside. The meal was served a bit haphazardly with our bresaola and carpaccio di polpo being brought out separately, and the water and wine came out one at a time.
The lasagne was very good and a large portion. My tortellini di zucca was a little above average with the filling over spiced. I also thought that the coperto of 3.50 per person was a little high.
Overall not a bad meal, but not what I would have expected for the price.
