04/10/2025: The San Biagio Restaurant in Matera is a true gem. The elegant and welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by beautiful paintings themed around Matera, creating a unique atmosphere. The view of the Sassi from the outdoor area is simply breathtaking, perfect for an unforgettable dinner. The menu offers refined and delicious dishes. We started with exceptional appetizers: a fresh tuna and squid carpaccio, the typical and flavorful cruschi peppers, and artfully seared tuna on a delicate fava bean puree. For our first course, the risotto was a true delight: creamy, with saffron, shrimp, licorice, and a touch of caviar. Next, fish... the turbot with mashed potatoes was perfectly cooked, light, and flavorful. To round things off, we tried a mille-feuille with Chantilly cream and berries, a dessert that capped off this culinary experience perfectly. The service was incredibly fast, impeccable, and professional, always attentive and courteous. If you're looking for a place to eat well and enjoy a wonderful view of Matera, Ristorante San Biagio is the ideal choice.

08/09/2025: An ideal place for a quick meal without sacrificing quality, both in service and food. Professional and helpful staff, and a friendly and welcoming owner. The fried flowers with mozzarella and anchovies are delicious, while the spaghetti with mussels and green beans is flavorful and plentiful. If you're passing through or staying in Policoro, it's definitely a must-try.

24/09/2025: We asked if we could have a glass of wine and were seated at a table near the entrance. The place was fairly busy. We waited about fifteen minutes, and no waiter, despite passing by our table several times right at the entrance, stopped to take our order or interacted with us. So we decided to leave without anyone saying anything. Not recommended due to the service.

03/10/2025: Excellent traditional Matera cuisine. Easy to find thanks to the nearby multi-story parking lot, and fair prices. I definitely recommend the sheep pignatello served in a bread cup.

10/06/2025: I'm from Matera but I've lived outside for many years. I emphasize this because going to Anna's means tasting the TRUE FLAVORS OF LUCAN. Out of this world lasagna, broad beans and chicory, orecchiette turnip tops, fried breadcrumbs and crusco. Braciole, sausages and so on and so forth. It's all stratospheric! Well done and kind ❤️

08/10/2025: Randomly walked into a restaurant, the cheese appetizer was very good, the steak was also good, and the pasta was average.

06/10/2025: I just got back from dinner at this Osteria. First of all, the bruschetta was very good, the only redeeming feature along with the atmosphere. The lasagna was a disgrace; it was four tapas with no filling, a small piece of meat, two salami pieces, and nothing else... And it's not cheap. The dessert was flavorless and very poor quality. Honestly, if I were to return to Matera, this place is not recommended.

25/07/2025: Locale caratteristico del centro, scavato nella roccia, personale molto gentile e professionale ... il menù presenta i piatti tipici della tradizione lucana con una buona attenzione alla presentazione degli stessi, degni di nota gli strascinati al peperone crusco con crema di ricotta e pomodoro, così come il crostino stracciatella acciughe e peperone crusco, buona anche la tagliata rucola e grana cotta alla brace... conto giusto, consigliato!

14/10/2025: I came for lunch with a friend. Nice place, average atmosphere. Service was sterile and dull, both at the reception and at the table. The food was good, but nothing that particularly impressed me. The numerous positive reviews on Google created unrealistic expectations for the experience. I wouldn't return.

06/10/2025: It's worth deviating a bit from the main road for the best panini we've had in Italy. The ingredients are fresh and delicious, and the tiramisu made by the owner is one of the best we've had in the region. Definitely a place worth recommending :)

18/09/2025: I was very happy with my experience at this restaurant. The service is fantastic. The people are so nice, I could eat there every day. If you want to eat dishes that Italians eat at home, this is the place. Traditional, homemade Italian food. It's beautiful. I had spaghetti Matera. The pasta and sauce were just right. The olives were the best in the world. You can sprinkle it with Parmigiano Reggiano. In Poland, when we like something, we say "Yummy." It is "Yummy." 14/10/2025: The service is courteous and attentive, not intrusive. I have a few reservations about the seafood appetizers, but that's my personal preference. I believe fish should be treated as simply as possible, but it's clear the chef has tried to offer more innovative dishes that are slightly outside of the traditional norm. Both the grilled fish and the fried mixed seafood are truly excellent (and plentiful). In any case, an experience worth repeating, recommended for seafood lovers.
