19/07/2025: Dinner featuring traditional dishes: a platter of red fedda, cialledda, crusco peppers with stracciatella and capocollo, fava beans and chicory, crapiata, and finally fig, fig, and fennel ice cream. Everything was truly excellent, as was the service!

19/07/2025: We returned twice during our stay in Matera. All the dishes we tried were very good and reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly.

26/07/2025: The restaurant is located on one of the main streets in the lower part of the Sassi di Matera. Inside, the architecture is unique, the restaurant is tastefully furnished, and the staff are very courteous and friendly, all in a truly authentic atmosphere. The menu, in my opinion, can be overwhelming: although all the dishes obviously draw on traditional elements, the pairings really pique your curiosity and appetite, so you'll want to try everything! The wine list is simple and quite refined, with the option of drinking local wines from both well-known and lesser-known producers at very reasonable markups. The owner is a true host, although he told us he stumbled upon this adventure somewhat by chance. He speaks several languages, is knowledgeable, attentive, and never intrusive. The other staff in the dining room were also excellent, and of course the chef and his team. We spent a wonderful family evening at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend it, especially because the restaurant manages to stand out from all the others around it, and there are many!

03/07/2025: Excellent authentic Italian trattoria, in a quiet park in Montescaglioso, with very willing and extremely helpful staff. The food it serves is authentic Italian and homemade. The portions are huge and the taste is indescribable. Two of us ate until we were full on both nights we stayed here, for €25 each for dinner. I highly recommend it.

25/07/2025: Locale caratteristico del centro, scavato nella roccia, personale molto gentile e professionale ... il menù presenta i piatti tipici della tradizione lucana con una buona attenzione alla presentazione degli stessi, degni di nota gli strascinati al peperone crusco con crema di ricotta e pomodoro, così come il crostino stracciatella acciughe e peperone crusco, buona anche la tagliata rucola e grana cotta alla brace... conto giusto, consigliato!

15/07/2025: The real star of the restaurant, in my opinion, is the manager: Donato. Knowledgeable, kind, sociable, fun, and never intrusive. Tasty, complex, and well-crafted dishes. Fast and accurate service. The only negative: in my opinion, the prices are above average (compared to 1-star restaurants), undoubtedly due to the cost of the location—which, however, is certainly very beautiful and evocative.

09/07/2025: Outstanding. Our dinner here was the cherry on the Materna trip cake. Not for nothing is this a Michelin star restaurant. Very nicely located in the Sassi district in one of the caves. We had the 8 course full menu which was exceptionally good. Nicely curated dishes of huge variation, always referring to the South Italian heritage and Materna. The staff is super kind and creates a welcoming atmosphere. Huge wine menu and good recommendations. A very memorable experience from the starters to the dessert (try the Monte Crusko!)

13/08/2025: Amazing restaurant where food is great and service is amazing. If you want to taste local ingredients, depending on season, prepared and cocked at high level this is a place you must visit. The Marro is made with interiors of sheep, amazing: don’t think you can find anywhere else. Cocked this way. Pasta selection is great and fave with cicoria is an appetiser that will set you for dinner. I saw a spectacular dish on tables near me that is the Pignata. Next time I go I will try some. Menu is rich and you do not go wrong any option you pick. Service is friendly and smooth. Waiting time is just perfect. Restrooms are clean and neat. Overall experience is high level and final price per person is amazingly fair! Thumbs up for Stano!

21/07/2025: I discovered the restaurant during a confirmation lunch. The menu featured fish dishes, which I found truly delicious. I did have a complaint about the service, which seemed aloof and unwilling to put guests at ease. I'd say the overall rating remains positive thanks to the food.

07/08/2025: First of all, congratulations on the kindness of the staff and owners. I haven't tasted such a good pizza in a long time. Then we had potatoes stuffed with sausage, mushrooms, crusco peppers, and turnips. Everything was delicious and the prices were affordable. I'll be back often.

06/07/2025: Passing through Matera we stop for an aperitif. Nice place and outside, prices already higher than average. Spritz 7, non-alcoholic 6, soft drink 3.50. Nothing is brought to accompany, unless of course you also order food. But the gesture, in my opinion, worst that makes me leave this review is that I decide to pay with the card and magically the bill increases by €2 without the customer obviously being notified. And so I find myself paying €18.50. First time this policy has been applied to me in 15 days of vacation. Since I cannot respond I modify the review and attach the receipt. You will see that the bill paid is €18.50. And from the menu consulted we should have paid €2 less, something has increased. I would never dream of writing something untrue and leaving a negative review for nothing.
