14/04/2026: An excellent restaurant in Matera's old town. We were seated upstairs in a charming, large vaulted room. Both the appetizers and our main courses were delicious—the only slight drawback was that one of the dishes was far too salty. Superb Italian wine list. Highly recommended.

08/04/2026: We dined at Soul Kitchen Matera as a couple and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed – ideal for a cozy dinner for two. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant without being intrusive. The food was of outstanding quality: fresh, creative, and perfectly balanced in flavor. You can tell that the chefs cook with passion. We were particularly impressed by the beautiful presentation and the harmonious aromas. The price-performance ratio is also excellent. We would gladly return and wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

The space is divided into two L-shaped rooms; the larger one is crowded, while the other is significantly better, except for the table near the internal door, which definitely needs to be eliminated. A bit overpriced, especially for wine: a glass costs €10-15...

10/05/2026: We came from Mexico, arriving in Matera hungry and without a reservation (many places in Italy require one). We went in here and it was fantastic. Even though I come from the American continent where we eat a lot of meat, I can assure you that I ate the best meat of my life at this restaurant—so much so that I ordered seconds!

03/05/2026: We went for dinner as a couple and it was truly a delightful experience. The menu was original, with typical dishes that were tasty and well-executed. The restaurant was very well-maintained and the service was attentive (Paolo was a very friendly, professional guy... special!). The owners were wonderful, welcoming, and helpful. Highly recommended: 10 stars, but it's a shame there are only 5 stars.

01/04/2026: My wife and son and I were in the beautiful city of Matera last week, and right below our B&B, we decided, at the recommendation of many locals, to try this excellent restaurant. We started with the traditional peperoni cruschi, then moved on to the excellent orecchiette with mushrooms and sausage and a traditional soup. But the real masterpiece was the dish that gives the restaurant its name: the Pignata. A pan covered in oven-baked bread containing tender and delicious sheep cooked for 18 hours with potatoes and carrots. We finished with a delicious, crunchy and bitter dessert. 10/04/2026: Exceptional experience, let's talk about the welcome, there is a gentleman the manager who is of a kindness and a unique professionalism. The location, an exceptional place, attention to the smallest details, from the dining room to the bathrooms, not to mention the open cellar, with an incredible assortment of wines. What can I say.... But now let's get to the cuisine, revisited typical dishes, each dish taken care of in appearance but above all in flavors and respect for traditions. Typical Lucanian dishes interpreted in a masterly way. I don't know what to add except that I have to return. And if we want to talk about prices exactly in line with the local menus, only that here we are not talking about mediocre cuisine, but everything is taken care of and followed in an exquisite manner. Try it and believe it. Thank you, I had a great time.

03/05/2026: The atmosphere was great and the food was very tasty. I would have given a high rating if they hadn’t forgotten my order. After a long wait, they told me “just 3 minutes,” but those 3 minutes turned into another 20. Everyone else at the table had already finished their meals. It wasn’t a pleasant experience.

07/04/2026: I dined two evenings at this wonderful little restaurant right in the city center, just steps from Piazza Vittorio Veneto. The charcuterie and cheese platter was excellent and plentiful, as were the other dishes we ate. Excellent value for money. Vito and Michele were friendly, professional, and kind. Highly recommended!
