22/12/2025: A quaint and welcoming atmosphere, a warm and pleasant place with Italian music playing in the background. The place is very tidy and clean. The staff is kind and attentive. We enjoyed a bruschetta with crumbled sausage and melted cheese, truly delicious, and an Irish burger with cheddar and bacon, accompanied by crispy fries. To finish, a delicious tiramisu.

06/01/2026: While passing through Matera, we were recommended this traditional restaurant located at the entrance to the famous Sassi. We couldn't have made a better choice. The friendly staff made you feel like family. We had dinner with some truly delicious traditional Matera dishes. Eustachio made excellent recommendations from the menu, and Linda, the chef, is a true Chef with a capital C, as well as being incredibly friendly. Definitely worth a try! 05/01/2026: Soul Kitchen was a wonderful discovery for dinner in Matera, in a warm and elegant setting where you immediately feel welcomed. We ate from appetizers to first courses to main courses, and every course was a delight: rich flavors, well-executed preparations, and a consistently high quality throughout the meal. The value for money is also excellent, with prices absolutely reasonable for the area and the type of food offered. Special mention goes to the staff, who were kind and courteous throughout the evening, attentive but never intrusive, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a reliable place to eat well and enjoy a carefree evening, this is a place to keep in mind.

05/01/2026: Extremely tasty place! Definitely the most delicious place in Matera! The quality /quantitiy ratio is absolutely perfect. The sandwiches are huge - keep this in mind if you are not very hungry and consider splitting it with someone as it would be a crime to throw even the leftovers of this food. You can tell that every ingredient is traditional and fresh. Combine the sandwich with a glass of Prosecco and you have “Heaven!”! The service is perfect, too! ❤️ The place is definitely worth visiting! 😊

05/01/2026: Excellent bakery in Matera, also open on Sundays. Very welcoming staff and delicious products. We tried the bread and the "scorsette materane" (a real treat, especially the orange one). Highly recommended!

15/01/2026: We were warmly welcomed at this restaurant, and immediately felt thoughtfully pampered. The menu is quite varied, though in my opinion it leans toward seafood, but as the website clearly shows, there's more. I started with the egg in yolk and found it very good and well-balanced. When the next course changed, they replaced my glass to avoid tainting the egg flavor—a rare touch in service. I continued with the cacio e pepe with red shrimp, and was also satisfied, though for my taste, the cacio e pepe would pair better with the tonnarelli. The freshness of the shrimp contrasts beautifully with the intense flavor of the cacio e pepe. The pasta is generous, but in addition to the standard portion, you can also purchase a larger portion that can be shared, and it's served in a striking stainless steel grater. For my second course, I chose a tuna steak, and again, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ingredients and the quantity. I happily concluded my experience with the warm apple, cinnamon, and walnut cake with crunchy ice cream. I also had the opportunity to try other dishes on the menu and can confirm that the quality of the ingredients is always very high, as is the respect shown in the dishes. Among my favorites: pot & tartare, the vegetable-sea fry, the seafood course, and the dragon's eye. The staff was always attentive and kind, table service was quite fast, and the atmosphere was quiet. The restrooms were always clean and well-stocked, as well as the very tidy open kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay, and I definitely recommend trying this experience.

03/01/2026: A restaurant located just outside Matera, perfect for an evening with friends. We visited as a group and tried several options: the meat was truly excellent, top-quality, and cooked to perfection. The pizza was also very good, as were the pasta dishes, which were tasty and well-prepared. The service was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. A place definitely worth a visit, we highly recommend it.

18/01/2026: We attended a tasting to sample the food from my son's wedding reception. The reception hall is large and spacious, and it's comfortable. I recommend the owners find some acoustical solutions to dampen the reverberation of the chatter of two hundred people. The tastings went very well and gave us good advice on the menu choices. The staff was friendly and professional.

12/01/2026: I went for lunch and it was a truly special experience. The restaurant is charming, carved into the Sasso, and exudes a unique historical atmosphere. There's also an ancient olive oil mill inside, almost like visiting a museum, which makes it all the more fascinating. We ate grilled meat, which was simply delicious: perfectly cooked and excellent quality. The food overall was exceptional. The staff deserves a special mention: very kind, welcoming, and always available. An experience I highly recommend to anyone visiting Matera.

05/01/2026: I used to come to this restaurant every two years or so. I've always considered it a tourist hotspot, but it's a good compromise. Unfortunately, today I was only able to observe inside (due to the lack of price display outside) that the menu has undergone an excessive price increase; there's no entree under €14. I find the menu priced for an empty plate for €1 unfortunate. I had a brief discussion with the manager or owner about the matter. She politely explained the reasons for the price increases. We realized we had different views, and I changed locations where I could enjoy a similarly high-quality meal at a lower price, along with a high-end restaurant setting. From my limited experience in the industry, I would recommend adjusting the offerings to meet demand to best market the excellent cuisine this restaurant offers.

29/12/2025: A typical Lucanian restaurant serving traditional dishes in the beautiful city of Matera. The waiters were incredibly friendly, and we asked them for wine and food recommendations. Excellent dishes, highly recommended! One detail we noticed was that the menu wasn't very extensive, as the ingredients were repetitive across the side dishes, first courses, and second courses.
