10/12/2024: Menu set on typical Matera dishes and with great difficulty it is possible to make variations. Good quality raw material. A little too long of a wait to order the dishes and between one dish and another, even if the staff made up for the shortcoming with friendliness and smiles which are always a pleasure. An anomaly on the menu is naming a chocolate cake with eggnog Tiramisu Extra (for a Treviso it's a sacrilege even if it was good)! Modern space on a mezzanine just outside the Sassi of Matera, clean and well looked after. The "bill" was a little more expensive than expected but affordable.

11/11/2024: Having arrived on Sunday, now after 2pm, they very kindly reserved a table for us in a refined, modern and welcoming place. There were three of us, we shared two starters and then each opted for a first course. The meal was accompanied by a glass of excellent Aglianico del Vulture. The quality of the food was high, the dishes were presented in an expertly elegant way. The selection of cheeses is excellent, the dishes halfway between modernity and tradition. The menu indicates foods that are not suitable for those who are intolerant or allergic. Correct value for money. Definitely recommended.

01/12/2024: Incuriositi dall'atmosfera e dall'arredamento rilassante ed originale, abbiamo scelto di entrare per il pranzo. Il menu non è affatto scontato e si adatta bene ai gusti di onnivori e vegetariani. Abbiamo mangiato i crostini con carne di suino nero, un ricco tagliere di formaggi e salumi locali e dei frollini con la crema. Tutti i piatti sono accomunati da materie prime di ottima qualità, abilmente preparate e dai sapori bilanciati. Prendete il dolce, vi sorprenderà. Ci torneremo sicuramente per provare le altre proposte.

12/12/2024: Splendid experience inside an ancient oil mill carved out of a stone....the kind Mariella knows how to lead you with discreet elegance through local foods and traditions...the crusco pepper is superb and the cavatelli with pumpkin sauce are delicious...I hope so much so that we can return soon

05/01/2025: Location meravigliosa, suggestiva e curata nei minimi dettagli. Accoglienza perfetta, personale davvero cortese e attento. Do tre stelle perché il cibo non mi ha suscitato nessuna emozione. Probabilmente avevo delle aspettative piuttosto alte ma il cibo non mi ha fatto dire WOW. Prezzi, a mio avviso, spropositati per una cucina piuttosto piatta. Buona e delicata la crostata baccalà e ceci, il raviolo alla parmigiana mi aspettavo qualcosa in piu, i ravioli all’agnello un sapore decisamente forte quasi disturbante. Gli spaghettoni alla nduja cottura perfetta ma troppo troppo conditi da risultare pesanti. L’ombrina al cavolfiore senza infami e senza lodi. Salvo però il dolce che su consiglio del cameriere abbiamo poi ordinato, un gelato al pane di Matera, ottimo degno di nota.

29/12/2024: Location molto affascinante! Tutto curato nei minimi particolari. I piatti che abbiamo scelto erano un tripudio di sapori, forchettata dopo forchettata scoprivamo accostamenti mai assaggiati prima, magistralmente pensati.

10/12/2024: Beautiful place inside a typical Matera cave. Attentive, young and competent staff. All the foods are local and with excellent combinations. Too bad I discovered it on the last day of the holiday otherwise I would have returned.

10/12/2024: As soon as you arrive on the main road in the area called Sassi you will immediately find this small but welcoming place where you can savor many delicacies with excellent traditional local flavours. Bread, cured meats, cheeses, taralli, but above all first and second courses of every kind and taste, you are truly spoiled for choice and the prices are accessible. A plate of lasagna for 7 euros and a fantastic sandwich with sausage and caramelized onion for 5 euros are really excellent prices. It's an excellent choice for lunch on the go and is very easy to reach. Possibility to sit outside or inside if there is room. Very kind and friendly staff. This is a historic activity so be on the safe side. Advised.

01/01/2025: If there is one restaurant which you should visit in Matera, THIS is the one. Literally. Stop scrolling, stop looking around, this is the best. 1. The hospitality and service is unmatched. They are so kind in here, they make you feel like you’re at home. Amazing people. 2. The food. I can talk for hours about it. An explosion of flavours. So well done. SO, SO, SO TASTY!!! AND ALSO THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE!!!!!!!! Amazing gluten free pasta! Amazing gluten AND lactose free profiteroles! Amazing soup! Incredible dishes! 3. The atmosphere - you’re sitting in a an authentic cave-looking place which 1000 years ago used to be a church. And there are frescoes on the walls. Really, truly amazing. The only negative is that we found them too late.

03/11/2024: I came here for my grandfather's birthday, the appetizer was good with slices of swordfish, salmon then mussels au gratin, shrimp au gratin, a "flower" of puff pastry with shrimp on top filled with pink sauce, a mini colored sandwich with tuna and rocket then as first paccheri with seafood and 5 ravioli placed on a cross with ricotta filling and 2 cubes of bacon and 2 mushrooms. For the second course, roast consisting of: slice, chicken breast, half sausage, veal chops, salad and french fries. Ice cream and coffee, coffee and cake But let's move on to the environment... The environment is very nice with tables and armchairs outside, an "external" indoor room and a completely indoor room (the latter is the one where we ate) I give 4 stars to the environment because the outside was a bit dirty of waste paper and the terrace above inaccessible.

02/11/2024: I had lunch today with my parents, the atmosphere is familiar, the owner is very helpful, empathetic and courteous. We chose the fixed menu which includes first course (trofie alla boscaiola), second course (goulash), side dish (boiled potatoes flavored with oil and parsley or mixed salad) and water for the cost of 15 euros each. There is a good choice between first and second courses, the value for money is excellent. From the outside tables you can enjoy a beautiful view of the valley and during the time I went it was only open for lunch.

15/12/2024: Nonostante la prenotazione x le 20,30 abbiamo dovuto aspettare 2 ore per mangiare una pizza mediocre è assurdo. La scusa data è che c’erano molte pizze da asporto ma non è plausibile assolutamente questa scusa, un cliente a mio avviso non può aspettare 2 ore

11/11/2024: Last night I had dinner here with my boyfriend, there's no doubt about it, it was the best pizza I've ever eaten. I am lactose and also nickel intolerant but this was absolutely not a problem as the staff served me a pizza with lactose-free mozzarella. Even though I decided of my own free will to try foods that are not allowed in my diet, I had a really good time, unlike other pizzerias. The pizza, in addition to being good, is really light and you are spoiled for choice. Fresh and delicious products. Friendly and helpful staff. Perhaps the only flaw is that the music is a little too loud for my tastes. I can't wait to go back.
