25/07/2025: Locale caratteristico del centro, scavato nella roccia, personale molto gentile e professionale ... il menù presenta i piatti tipici della tradizione lucana con una buona attenzione alla presentazione degli stessi, degni di nota gli strascinati al peperone crusco con crema di ricotta e pomodoro, così come il crostino stracciatella acciughe e peperone crusco, buona anche la tagliata rucola e grana cotta alla brace... conto giusto, consigliato!

31/10/2025: Excellent pizzeria. Friendly welcome for tourists. The menu is available online in four languages, including French, which is very helpful for deciding what to order. Pizzas are prepared right in front of you. Very good, made with fresh ingredients. The ingredients and flavors are exactly as advertised. The pork croquettes were pretty good too. The decor is a bit like a snack bar, but the food is amazing! We ate very well, and when you see homemade pizzas with good ingredients for under €10, you're not used to that in France! 😀

21/10/2025: A very nice restaurant with excellent service. Prices are a bit higher (though still perfectly acceptable for Matera) – here you don't run the risk of paying a lot for food that doesn't taste good. We each had a very good pasta and meat dish, along with good wine.

29/09/2025: We visited "La Panca 2.0 pizzeria" and were pleasantly surprised. We tried three pizzas, each with very interesting flavor combinations. The first pizza, with yellow datterino tomatoes, caciocavallo materano, and n'duja, offered a remarkable balance between sweetness and spiciness. The second, with yellow datterino tomatoes, capocollo, burrata, crusco peppers, and basil, also proved to be a rich and successful tasting experience. Finally, the third pizza, with Colonnata lardo, ricotta, walnuts, and honey, was a completely new experience that proved to be a surprising and harmonious combination. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for unconventional, high-quality pizzas. A lovely little place with great quality pizzas.

05/11/2025: Like everything in Matera, the best thing about it is the atmosphere, which is fantastic. The locally sourced beef was cooked to perfection and tasted good, but it was quite fibrous. The selection of meats and cheeses is worthwhile. The sausage with potatoes is a kind of chorizo ​​criollo, but with an anise-flavored spice that overpowers the meat's flavor. The formaggie cheese was very good. As I said, the best thing about it all was the atmosphere.

02/11/2025: A pleasant lunch break at Osteria L’Arco. We opted for a simple meal of pasta. The “Troccoli con baccalà alla materana,” a regional specialty, was particularly enjoyable. Troccoli, typical of Puglia, are thick, slightly square pasta, perfect for holding sauce. Here, they were served with flavorful baccalà and a rich, tangy sauce. The service was attentive and the setting charming, especially on the terrace overlooking the narrow streets of Matera.

11/11/2025: Soul Kitchen, Matera A restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff, in the heart of Matera. The panna cotta is nice - light, creamy... The only complaint is that the tip is already included in the bill and is quite high, regardless of the total amount of the order. The bill is 9.50, and the tip is 6 euros.

02/11/2025: Family dinner (6 people) on a Saturday evening. The service was prompt and accurate despite the room being full. The dishes were typical of Lucanian cuisine and absolutely impeccable. The price was average. The location is quaint and clean, inside the baronial castle. Highly recommended!

26/10/2025: We were passing through and were greeted with extreme kindness—it may seem obvious, but it isn't. The owner found us a seat even though we hadn't booked and the restaurant was full (two birthdays). Great attention to local products and the cuisine (run by his wife) is truly excellent, with a touch of experimentation. Very fair prices for the quality of the products used, and a comfortable atmosphere. It's a shame we can't become regulars due to the distance, but if we were to visit again, we wouldn't hesitate to return. I highly recommend it, both for the food and for the heartwarming, genuine smiles.

The restaurant, carved into the Matera tuff rock, is an architectural spectacle: intimate, elegant, and authentic. Every detail exudes passion and respect for the land that hosts it. Donato's wine selection is an exciting journey through Basilicata and Europe, with perfect pairings that enhance each dish, showcasing the finest ingredients and creativity. An experience to be relived and re-lived many times in a lifetime, because in places like this, time stands still, and taste becomes pure emotion. We'll definitely be back!

04/10/2025: What a treasure in Matera. Beautiful delicious food, pretty setting, friendly and attentive service. Great value, too. Loved the wine pairings and the concept of being able to assemble your own tasting menu. Chef is in the kitchen himself. The Michelin star is well deserved.

22/07/2025: Posto tranquillissimo perché su una stradina secondaria, ma vicino alla piazza principale di Matera. Eccellente tagliere molto carico di salumi e formaggi. Ottima bruschetta. Proprietario gentilissimo. Prezzi onesti. Consigliatissimo! Soprattutto se volete scappare dai posti turistici.
