Amoreolio is an authentic place. Giusy, her family, and her staff welcome guests with warmth and professionalism, as true guardians of Lucanian culinary tradition. A tip: the strascinati with crusco pepper powder are unparalleled.

Passing through on the Basilicata Bike Trail, we were pleasantly surprised by the mountainside town and charmed by the warmth of Amoreolio. Giusi is a fantastic innkeeper, and the staff is exquisite, as were the dishes we sampled. It's a shame we couldn't spend time visiting the museum! We hope to find an excuse to stop by again. Congratulations again (the lucky woman 😉).

The welcome from Giusy, the owner and proprietor, begins in a truly unique location, a late 19th-century olive oil mill and museum, with a well-preserved stone millstone and screw press. The dishes are truly excellent, traditional, simple cuisine; the beef stew is exquisite, as is the suckling pig. A place that knows how to welcome you and make you feel at home. Definitely worth returning to. ❤️

This restaurant is a gem in the heart of Basilicata, and I leave my heart there every time I return. Housed in the rooms of an old olive oil mill, it boasts a panoramic view of the Lucanian hills. At sunset, it's breathtaking. The cuisine, typical of rural cuisine, takes you back in time. The ingredients are top-quality and largely produced and cared for by the D'Oronzio family. From the cruschi peppers, to the jams, to the zucchini, to the cheeses, to the olives, to the pasta dishes with asparagus, braciole, and sausage... every dish is an unforgettable experience. Every time I return to Basilicata, it's a must-try.

We spent a very pleasant day, visiting the oil museum and tasting their excellent organic EVO oil, all with a beautiful view and very kind and helpful staff. True, traditional home cooking. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back.
