10/03/2026: We chose Agriturismo Il Pago in Rotondella to celebrate our wedding, and we couldn't have made a better decision! It was truly a memorable day. The banquet was exceptional: the food was plentiful, and every dish was absolutely exquisite, a true triumph of authentic flavors. Special thanks go to the staff, who were impeccable, professional, and attentive to every need. To prolong the magic of the event, we also stayed at the property for two nights: the rooms were very comfortable, welcoming, and spotlessly clean. Waking up was made even sweeter by an exceptional breakfast: special thanks to Chef Salvatore, who delighted us every morning with a different cake, not to mention his fantastic homemade plain yogurt... a true delight! We'd like to emphasize that this place is a true paradise not only for events, but for any family day out. It's especially perfect for those with small children, thanks to the beautiful play areas and the many animals that delight the little ones. It's the ideal place for anyone to unwind and spend quality time immersed in nature. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Agriturismo Il Pago for making our day so special. Highly recommended! 22/12/2025: A quaint and welcoming atmosphere, a warm and pleasant place with Italian music playing in the background. The place is very tidy and clean. The staff is kind and attentive. We enjoyed a bruschetta with crumbled sausage and melted cheese, truly delicious, and an Irish burger with cheddar and bacon, accompanied by crispy fries. To finish, a delicious tiramisu.

16/03/2026: My experience at this restaurant was extremely positive. I searched online for restaurants in Matera and, fortunately, I chose this one based on a hunch. A very charming place among the Sassi... clean and quiet. The atmosphere is lovely. The young man who served us was courteous, kind, and friendly; it was a real pleasure dealing with him. We ordered a local appetizer, a plate of orecchiette, a sliced ​​meat, and a dessert. Everything was excellent and with attention to detail. Prices were completely reasonable. Service was prompt. Quick enough and welcoming. I recommend it and hope to return!

02/02/2026: Spectacular welcome. Excellent food. I recommend the meat, which is exquisite. In the summer, it should be wonderful with outdoor seating. In the winter, it's cozy and tastefully decorated. The owner's father welcomed us with a smile on his face... perhaps because we were with a dear friend of his? But I don't think so... both he and his son are truly wonderful.

31/01/2026: From the outside, it doesn't look very appealing. It's a bit out of the way, to the point that if they hadn't suggested it to us, we probably wouldn't have even entered. For a moment, we wondered if it was really open and if we should open the door. And finally... fortunately we entered. Inside, the space is beautiful, warm and fits perfectly with Matera. They took us upstairs, where there were already customers, and from there everything went very smoothly. The boy who served us was friendly, relaxed, willing to explain without style, without rushing. The food was what you expect to eat here. Local cuisine, well-cooked, with flavor and substance. Nothing supposedly touristy. The wine was an excellent choice. It was called Akratos, a reference to ancient Greek tradition. The pure, undiluted wine that, according to the ancients, only Dionysus could drink. Strong, full, with character, and perfectly tied to the dishes. And the dessert came at the end simply and properly, without exaggeration, closing the meal beautifully. An experience that stays with you. We would go again without a second thought

The price reflects the high quality of the preparations. The food is equally excellent, and is more of a side dish than a dinner. The location in the Sassi district holds its own against its competitors.

The octopus and spaghetti with mussels were excellent, and overall the dishes were all refined and well-balanced. Wide selection of wines.

15/03/2026: The place looks good. Renovated and well-maintained. In my opinion, the positives stop there: the food and experience weren't up to par. They fed us in 25 minutes, with the appetizer decidedly bland, one of the first courses too salty, and the second course too garlicky. There are definitely better options in Matera.
