Great place, very lov my location , both the outdoor patio and the inside are very suggestive. AMAZING food! Very nice people working there!

We had dinner for two last night (December 28, 2025) after finding the restaurant featured in the Slow Food guide. We had a great time: a wide selection of traditional dishes, generous portions, and friendly service. In particular, after I mentioned that my girlfriend is lactose intolerant, the waitress immediately suggested two small changes to the appetizer selection. The only downsides were the volume of the music and the €3 cover charge per person, which seemed a bit steep, but overall, a very positive experience.

A very nice restaurant with excellent service. Prices are a bit higher (though still perfectly acceptable for Matera) – here you don't run the risk of paying a lot for food that doesn't taste good. We each had a very good pasta and meat dish, along with good wine.

16/05/2026: This restaurant, somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle of Matera's center, is housed in a beautiful, light-filled room with exposed stone walls. But the real highlight is the food. Each dish is prepared with quality ingredients, slowly simmered to concentrate maximum flavor. Add to that a warm welcome from the owner, who speaks French, and a jazzy playlist, and you have a wonderful way to appreciate the magic of Matera. And don't forget the tiramisu, with its homemade sponge cake, prepared fresh to order for a delightful, sweet, but not overly sweet, ending.
09/05/2026: Small-scale restaurant in the center of Matera. Highly recommended if you’ve seen enough of the average pizza and pasta places. There isn't much fish, but the large prawns are very tasty. My husband chose the poached egg as a starter, and both appetizers were very delicious. The main courses were also very good. Finished with tiramisu and a semi freddo. Maybe a bit more expensive, but 1000 times better than the average tourist restaurant. The taste of the region prepared with love.

04/05/2026: My husband, our two children, and I dined at this restaurant last night after a busy day spent walking among the Sassi of Matera. We were greeted by kind and attentive staff, with prompt service. The pizza was excellent, the fries were special, and the "sausage of the beggar" was delicious. My husband and I ordered it first, followed by a portion of Van Gogh bruschetta—exceptional! The owner, Bartolomeo, was exceptionally kind, making us feel at home and pampered. Before leaving, I confided in him about my passion for Vincent Van Gogh. He accompanied me into the dining room, which, surprisingly, was decorated with wonderful reproductions of Van Gogh's paintings. He proudly told me about them and showed me the wines, which bear artistic labels. What more can I say?! Between the deliciousness of the dishes, the beauty of the setting, and the owner's extraordinary kindness, it was an experience that left us with a wonderful feeling of well-being! If we ever return to Matera, we'll definitely eat here, with the pleasure of greeting Bartolomeo and savoring more of his delicacies!!!! Ps: fair prices and generous portions.
