Beautiful bar and pastry shop. Excellent, fresh products, good coffee, and a wide selection of beautiful chocolate confections. Clean place, impeccable service. One star removed only for a displeased look regarding a chair taken from a four-seat table. We thought that disrupting the seating arrangement for a chair wasn't a big deal; it was done properly, with care, and everything was put back in order. But that's okay... it happens.

My fantasy of eating a sublime croissant comes true when, upon visiting the Di Bitonto pastry shop for the first time, the first bite of a cream-filled croissant is captivated by its sweet, delicately buttery aroma, anticipating an explosion of velvety, intense cream that explodes on my palate! 11/05/2026: The restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel, and we wholeheartedly agree. The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly. The waiters and waitresses were very pleasant and attentive to the customers.
04/05/2026: Osteria L’arco was my favorite dining experience in Matera! The food was phenomenal with lots of local dishes to try and the service was the best. The pasta with peppers and ricotta is so far my best pasta in all of Italy! And the chocolate cake with orange and peppers was an amazing combination (I especially loved the cocoa hearts). It was my first dinner as a solo traveler and they treated me well. Grazie L’arco!

03/05/2026: Located in the center of Matera, overlooking the Sassi, this restaurant is a true gem. Situated in a traditional and original setting, it offers quality products and friendly staff. Recommended
27/04/2026: We were looking for something interesting for lunch in the beautiful city of Matera and stumbled upon this restaurant. It’s carved right into the hillside—exactly that traditional vibe people come here for. The service was absolutely amazing. Huge selection of wines. The menu is nicely tailored to the local cuisine. We really enjoyed everything, from the starter to the main course. The only small downside was a bit of flaking lime from the ceiling paint, but that’s probably pretty common in this type of space.
