Excellent views and good pizza by the slice! We stumbled upon 5 Lire Matera by mistake.. They offer a really nice variety of sliced pizzas, and the food was fine and satisfying. However, the absolute highlight of this place is the amazing view you get of the old part of Matera. It is worth stopping by just to eat a slice of pizza and take in that breathtaking backdrop. Definitely recommend it for a quick, scenic bite!

Very good pizza with a beautiful viewing terrace

There won't be a picture of the pizza because it disappeared faster than I thought about it 🤭 But maybe the night view from the balcony will entice someone ;) I highly recommend this place - I wasn't expecting anything special here - it was late and we were hungry, so we walked in out of the rush to grab a slice of pizza to continue our journey... Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely lady who warmed up our pizzas, cut them up so we could share them, and packed them in very convenient takeout boxes (she did it all herself, which deserves a lot of credit!) And now the biggest surprise because... I honestly have to admit that this was the best slice of pizza we ate during our week-long stay, and there really was a lot to choose from 🤭 The pizza, even reheated, surpassed even the ones in the more expensive restaurants! On my deliciousness scale, it gets a 10/10! 🥳 If you're walking around Matera, stop by this charming little place - you won't regret it! It's delicious, it's nice, it's cheap - 3 x YES! ♥️

View of the city from a mini balcony. Quick bite. Tasty slice. Good ingredients. Cheap. But: Why do I have to get my drink from a cooler myself? Surely there are cocktails all around us?! Get rid of those sparrows!
