We had lunch in this nice restaurant. Ordered carbonara and tiramisu, both are superb and highly recommended!!!! Price is reasonable. The tiramisu is one of the best I’ve had in this Italy trip!!!

You know a place is good when the carbonara arrives and everyone at the table goes silent for a full minute. At La Botteghe we demolished a rich carbonara loaded with crispy pork cheek, tucked into a steak cooked absolutely perfectly, then somehow found room for a chocolate dessert that was both gluten free and lactose free… and still ridiculously good. No gimmicks. No tourist trap energy. Just proper food, warm service, a little slow as they seemed understaffed so loses a star but also the sort of meal where you immediately start planning what you’ll order next time. Matera keeps delivering.

The steak we had was nothing short of extraordinary. The service was exceptional, too, kind and just the right amount of hospitable not to be over the top. We felt like home. I can't recommend this place enough.

We were here this evening. The surrounding atmosphere was enchanting. All the staff, especially Alessandro and Rocco, gave us professional and friendly advice. The food was very good, made with fresh, high-quality local ingredients. If we return to Matera, we will definitely return.

We went today with friends and I have to say we were very satisfied. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and always available to answer our questions. I would recommend it to everyone and will definitely be back as soon as I can.

14/07/2026: I come back to this place repeatedly when visiting Matera. It is a "take away" type of place, but they have a few tables for eating on site, toilets, and a nice garden outside in the summer months. Great prices. Apparently they are always busy. The pizza is great, I especially love the Pizza carbonara.

08/08/2026: The perfect place that never ceases to amaze I've known this pizzeria and restaurant for years, and I can say without hesitation that it's simply exceptional. In fact, it continues to improve year after year, confirming its reputation for excellence. Welcome and Atmosphere The restaurant's strength, besides the food, is the human factor. The owner is disarmingly courteous, always attentive and available. The service is impeccable: the waiters are not only extremely polite, but also possess a rare kindness that makes you feel immediately at ease. The atmosphere is serene, warm, and familiar: this is precisely what makes me prefer it to any other place. You can't go wrong here. Quality and Pizza The ingredients are fabulous, fresh, and of the highest quality. Speaking specifically about the pizza, the true definition is "phenomenal": perfect dough, light, digestible, and topped with ingredients that make a difference with every single bite. Prices Another reason to frequent this place is the absolutely competitive prices, decidedly lower than average and, above all, completely disproportionate (in a positive way!) to the extremely high quality of the food served. Final Verdict In my opinion, this is the perfect place. I wouldn't trade it for any other: the quality, courtesy, atmosphere, and affordability are top notch. Highly recommended!
