Every dish -- really, every dish -- was superb. The flavors, pasta, meat, vegetables, local bread, even the house wine -- were all delicious. The restaurant is in a sassi/cave house, but felt light and cozy, not stuffy or claustrophobic like some of them do.

We opted for this place located in the historic center of Matera because we were attracted by the photos in the reviews, the dishes are very good, satisfactory quality and price. Delicious tiramisu. Very kind staff.

Locale accogliente e intimo nel centro della bellissima e suggestiva Matera. Menu variegato con piatti della cucina lucana ben presentati e dal gusto e riuscita eccellente. Menzione d’onore per la panna cotta con il peperone crusco. Conto corretto e personale gentile e poco invadente.

This was recommened by our Matera host and we really enjoyed the fresh Italian foods we ordered, not to mention the local bread. It is a large restaurant on many levels as it 'cascades' down the hill. The waiter was friendly and able to make suggestions as to what to try and our selections did not disappoint. The wine list is extensive. A place to dine in Matera.
