21/05/2026: It was a crazy weekend on a motorbike with friends, and we couldn't have chosen a better place to recharge our batteries! Sfizi del Palato proved to be a true culinary paradise after miles of twists and turns.
The welcome was fantastic from the moment we arrived: super-hospitable staff, a convivial atmosphere perfect for our group, and quick, friendly service. But the real spectacle began at the table. The quality of the ingredients was exceptional, the portions generous (which after hours in the saddle is exactly what you need!), and the authentic flavors truly reflect tradition and passion. The value for money was top-notch. It will definitely become a regular stop for our upcoming motorcycle rallies and weekend outings. If you're in the area (or are planning a two-wheeled itinerary), do yourself a favor and plan a stop here. Highly recommended! See you next time! 🏍️💨

03/05/2026: Family-run horse butcher shop with a grill, where you can eat anything you choose from the butcher's counter, from bone-in and boneless steaks to diaphragm steaks, roulades, sausages, meatballs, piadinas, carpaccio, and more...
The meat is carefully selected and well-prepared, of excellent quality.
The small, cozy place, and the friendly, welcoming staff immediately put you at ease.
The meat is paired with an excellent wine selected by the owner.
The service is fast, but the company and the friendliness of the owners will make you want to stay.
What I really liked is that you only eat grilled meat, with no side dishes or appetizers that will fill you up before you get to the meat.
The quality/price ratio is excellent.
If you like horse meat, I recommend trying it; if you've never tried it, it's a great place to start.

But above all, we ate well and the price was reasonable.

02/05/2026: The butcher only sells horse meat, but everything is top-quality. The carpaccio melts in your mouth. Reasonable prices. I recommend it.

11/01/2026: The food may be good, but the prices are too high and unjustified given the location and service! Plastic tables and chairs, paper tablecloths and napkins, an inexperienced waitress, and honestly, a rather small fillet cost €24... well... we definitely won't be back.
PS... I should add, since I received a response after two years, that prices have increased significantly since then, and a good fillet still costs €22-23... and in any case, a small fillet is still small even if it's good quality, which is supposed to be the case everywhere. 😅

Terrible experience. I ordered a pork chop and was served a piece of meat that was clearly defrosted (and badly defrosted) in taste and texture. The serious problem is that the menu didn't have any asterisks or indications that it was frozen.
Paying for fresh food and eating frozen food that wasn't marked is not only a disservice, it's disrespectful to the customer and an unfair business practice. The meat was inedible. Not recommended for those looking for honesty and quality.
18/11/2025: We stumbled upon this restaurant in the historic center of Matera by chance, and I must say we were lucky after having rejected at least four other restaurants that didn't inspire confidence in our search for local, homemade delicacies.
Excellent welcome from the kind and attentive waiter...
We don't know his name, but he was Venezuelan and exuded great empathy and professionalism.
Excellent, authentically Lucanian and homemade food, as shown in the attached photo.
Cavatelli alla Lucana and Lucanian sausage.
Ash-crusted potato.
We recommend it.

Immerso in un contesto suggestivo e ricco di storia, questo ristorante unisce alla perfezione l’accoglienza calorosa della tradizione con una cucina raffinata e curata nei minimi dettagli.
Ogni piatto racconta una storia: ingredienti freschissimi, sapori decisi ma equilibrati, porzioni generose e una presentazione impeccabile. Siamo stati in questo ristorante per un pranzo e ne siamo rimasti entusiasti! L’atmosfera è accogliente e raffinata, il personale gentile e attento a ogni dettaglio. Il menù offre una varietà di piatti preparati con ingredienti freschi e di alta qualità. Anche la carta dei vini è ben fornita. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è ottimo. Sicuramente torneremo.
