22/02/2026: A very beautiful and well-kept place. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the girls are incredibly nice and professional. The appetizers are superb. The meat is excellent.
21/02/2026: I'm recounting the rather unusual experience the other evening. Four of us went to this restaurant and were greeted warmly. After ordering, they informed us that the walnuts in the "Pizza d'Uomo" had run out and had to be replaced with almonds, but so far, nothing unusual. Along with the pizza and the girls' first course, my friend and I ordered the complete antipasto from the old station, as I hadn't been to L'Aquila for several years and wanted to try the cured meats from L'Aquila again. The rest was more of a side dish. Several minutes after the platter and soup arrived, I asked why the cured meats hadn't arrived yet. The younger girl told me to wait, as she would go and ask. When she returned, she pointed out that there was prosciutto... and I pointed out that Norcia prosciutto is already mentioned in the appetizer. She then said that on the menu they carry typical, seasonal products, not necessarily cured meats, claiming they weren't mentioned. I'm attaching a screenshot of the menu, which I also showed to the young lady. She replied that they're currently "updating the menu and experimenting with alternatives using seasonal products." Now, the breaded pumpkin (despite the fact that none of us ate it) doesn't seem like it's from February to me, and it doesn't seem on par with the cured meat from L'Aquila. Sometimes, it would be enough to apologize and clarify the misunderstanding, trying to remedy the situation without making up excuses and making us look like picky eaters. Given the festive occasion, I didn't want to continue the debate, but know that if something is listed on the menu (which still costs €26), you can't leave it out because you've decided to try new things that evening; customers aren't guinea pigs. Unfortunately, the skewers weren't any better: they were too thick and stringy, clearly overcooked, and the meat was brought to the stone in its entirety, so a kilo of meat needed to be eaten quickly along with the skewers because it continued to cook. The last pieces were burnt and dry. I've never seen anything like it. The meat is served rare, and then the customer decides when and how to reheat it, and whether they want to cook it more on the stone. Salt was also missing, but we couldn't ask for it because unfortunately, no one was coming by, and we had to eat quickly because it would either burn or get cold. A first course, a pizza, an appetizer, 10 arrosticini, a rib-eye steak, and two rosé wines cost €210. Not bad for the price, but it's a shame about the quality and the insufficiency of the ingredients, which were in short supply. I definitely won't be returning, and I don't recommend it. I'd advise you to only list what you have on hand on the menu and change the way you serve the meat.

02/11/2025: Exceptional, excellent service. The lady in the dining room was very helpful and welcoming, making you feel at home. The food was superb; we chose the six-course tasting menu, which guests can choose from, as long as they share the same dishes for the table. Each course lived up to expectations, even more. We also really appreciated that the homemade bread, which was delicious, was brought only with the main courses, so we didn't have to fill up first and could fully appreciate each course. The wine pairing was recommended by the lady who proved to be extremely knowledgeable. High-end dining with excellent value.

22/02/2026: A small trattoria with friendly, family-style service. The menu features a few dishes, but they're well-prepared and use fresh, local ingredients. The homemade pasta and sauces are excellent, as are the meats and side dishes. The ricotta dessert is top-notch. Prices are average; perhaps the portions could be a little larger, but it's definitely a place to return to!

Each with their own role, yet part of a cog that moves in unison. You have to let go, trusting in their expert experience, and as if by magic, all the pieces fit together perfectly! The location needs no recommendations, reviews, or descriptions: it's a rare pearl in the heart of Abruzzo. The food is meticulously crafted, from the choice of ingredients to the quality, from the preparation to the plating. The service is exceptional: the Villa Elena staff is hard to find elsewhere; they are professionals dedicated to their work and have an unparalleled dedication to their clients. We will never thank this wonderful family enough for supporting and advising us during our wedding preparations. 23/08/2025: I wasn't familiar with this restaurant, but I was so pleased! The restaurant is charming, nestled in the countryside just outside Rivisondoli. It's family-run, and everyone is truly kind and knowledgeable. I was struck by their passion for food, wine, local produce (they produce many things, including the wheat they personally harvest on the mountain visible from the restaurant), and for Abruzzo. The cuisine is different from typical Abruzzo cuisine because the chef, the owner's wife, is French. We ate an excellent fondue with 3-4 cheeses, a stuffed eggplant, a delicious roast beef, and an excellent venison. But what really blew me away were the four desserts we ordered, unique and truly amazing. The price was lower than we expected (€55 per person). There are only a few tables, so reservations are recommended!

04/03/2026: Our dinner at Da Paolino was excellent: Roberto and the owner's welcome was warm and genuine. They knew how to recommend something based on your preferences and pampered you with sweets and artisanal liqueurs at the end of the meal. The polenta appetizer was delicious, though very rich, as were the pork shank and the chitarra pasta with chestnuts. My son's taccozze with butter and parmesan were also delicious, very creamy. Overall, the fresh pasta was excellent. The village was deserted but very charming. It's worth stopping for a glass of local red wine and then definitely heading over for dinner. They also accept walk-ins, but availability is always limited, so it's best to book well in advance. Thank you for the wonderful experience! We'll definitely be back :)

07/03/2026: Just a stone's throw from Pacentro, Giulio welcomes us as if we were family with genuine hospitality. Signora Anna bakes homemade bread and pizza, and the appetizers are endless: each one better than the last, all rooted in Abruzzo tradition. The lamb is worth the trip. Superlative desserts, and to finish, a laurel liqueur you won't find anywhere else. Well done, and thank you!
15/02/2026: My husband and I went to dinner at this traditional restaurant on Valentine's Day. There's a large parking lot outside. The restaurant itself is large inside. When we arrived, they didn't show us to our table, probably because they were busy. We had to wait quite a while for the menu and to take our order. The table service from then on was excellent; the food arrived promptly, along with drinks. The waitress had advised us to order only the hot and cold appetizers, as they were plentiful and we could have ordered more later. We were right to follow her advice. The dishes were generous, and above all, everything was excellent. Only the parmigiana and the crepe weren't up to par with the rest of the appetizers. The food was quite seasoned and nice and spicy (we like it a lot). We left the restaurant satisfied and full! We'll definitely be back! I've attached a photo of part of the appetizer.
