For my first course, I tried the gnocchi with mutton sauce, delicious.
The staff were very kind.

24/02/2026: A special and distinctive place distinguished by its courtesy, helpfulness, kindness, and the sheer quality of every dish. Excellent after a mountain outing, but also perfect for lunch or dinner. The appetizers are delicious; fried pecorino is my favorite. The first courses are exceptional: handmade ravioli, gnocchi, and pappardelle with ancient grains. The second courses are excellent, with excellent meats, especially the tender stew and the sliced steak with porcini mushrooms and must. The wine selection is excellent. A place I always love to return to, feeling right at home, and I highly recommend it to anyone passing through the area.

29/03/2026: The place is noisy, unfortunately, and also cold (temperature). Very classic. The appetizer was good, but considering the price and the space, it was a bit cramped.
Tagliatelle were excellent and plentiful. The scamorza cheese was also good.
Park on the street if you can find it, otherwise on a bend 200 meters away.
17/03/2026: Hidden among the winding, silent folds of the Abruzzo mountains are sometimes restaurants capable of expressing the region with sincerity and in their own unique way. This is the case with Il Brigante Maino, a rustic restaurant that combines the atmosphere of a mountain hut with the domestic warmth of a family home, creating a casual yet authentic atmosphere.
The culinary offerings range from the cornerstones of Abruzzo tradition to more diverse preparations, while maintaining a focus on raw ingredients and their most authentic expression. I sampled the ever-present arrosticini, a true icon of Abruzzo's gastronomic culture. The cooking was well-balanced: the slightly caramelized exterior gave way to juicy, flavorful meat.
The roe deer ragù dish was particularly convincing, with the fresh pasta demonstrating excellent cooking resistance and a porous texture capable of absorbing the sauce. The intense yet balanced ragù enhanced the meat's bold character without being overpowering, offering an overall harmonious and satisfying result.
The only element that partially dampened the overall harmony was the service, which was rather slow that day. Nothing that compromised the quality of the gastronomic experience.
Overall, Il Brigante Maino proved to be a restaurant capable of authentically interpreting Abruzzo's culinary heritage, offering solid dishes, authentic flavors, and an atmosphere that invites you to slow down and enjoy the mountain air.

02/05/2024: Sono stata in questo ristorante con amici, ma purtroppo non ritornerei, nonostante la gentilezza dei proprietari.
Il cibo troppo costoso per la qualità presentata, soprattutto nel caso degli gnocchetti al sugo che dubito fossero fatti in casa.
Inoltre, per gli antipasti e secondi, porzioni troppo troppo piccole per il costo richiesto.

25/09/2023: I hadnt expected much from a hotel restaurant, however VIN Ristorante carries itself with such quality that I had to write a separate review for the restaurant itself.
Every day is a changing menu. What that means is everyday you can eat there to experience something new. The staff were all so personable and lovely, and I would really recommend doing the wine pairing, this is because you are given a short introduction of the wines that are going with the food, and why it was chosen for its pairing.
I had expected a typical tuscan restaurant when I arrived, and I am pleasantly surprised by what I found otherwise.
13/08/2023: Le parole non possono descrivere adeguatamente l’esperienza a cui si va incontro. Scegliete il menu di degustazione alla cieca! Non ve ne pentirete! Avrete modo di assaggiare una gamma di ciò che lo chef propone in menu! La chef è bravissimo, sia sulla cucina “normale” che sul barbecue! Ancora devo capire quale dei piatti fosse il più buono!!! Avreste mai pensato di far “marinare” un pomodoro nella lavanda? Lui ci ha pensato…ed è una meraviglia!!!
