08/06/2026: I'm in Celano for health reasons. Before being hospitalized, I was curious to try some typical local products, so I searched online for a restaurant. The Locanda della Madonna delle Vigne immediately appeared. Looking at some photos, I was intrigued by the place, so I decided to book. Access to the inn is via a staircase in an alley with a breathtaking view. We were greeted by Mr. Sandro, a very helpful, empathetic, and welcoming person. Sitting at the table, we looked at the à la carte menu, choosing for one an appetizer of mutton skewers with white onion and chickpeas, to say the least 😋 delicious. Then we ordered cured meats and cheeses. I was amazed. 🤩 2 first courses: gnocchi with venison ragù, which were good, but the pappardelle with sausage, saffron, and truffle were a delight for the palate. 😍 Excellent service Beautiful serving dishes, the cheeses served with fantastic fruit pairings. He delighted us with two cheeses that unfortunately I don't remember the name of, but I will always remember the taste 😍🤩😋😋😋. All this including coffee and water, €65. Blessed are you for all the delights we received... Thank you, thank you, I will definitely be back.

03/05/2026: Small place, but worth a stop. Traditional cuisine with imaginative twists. Reservations are required, but there are only a few tables. Attentive and friendly staff. A variety of dishes are available, all of which we found to be flavorful and tasty. The price is fair. A solid experience, one we'll repeat.

30/04/2026: We went to Giocondo and had a fantastic experience! The place is intimate, very quaint, and well-organized. There's a small price to pay: you have to park a bit outside and walk through the alleys to get there, but it's absolutely worth it. The staff is very friendly, and the welcome gift (excellent bread and pecorino cheese) is a lovely touch. We had a platter and a grilled meat: everything was super fresh, local, and had that old-fashioned flavor. If you're looking for substance and courtesy, you're in the right place. Highly recommended!

20/04/2026: In a welcoming atmosphere with an unusual family warmth, kindness, courtesy, and prompt service, we (four friends/colleagues) met for lunch on Sunday, April 19th, 2026. The dishes were generous, served with extreme kindness by Ms. Giovanna, who expertly recommended a wide selection of dishes from the menu, which turned out to be excellent. We enjoyed a peaceful meal to remember. As was our case, we will be sure to recommend it to friends who are passing along the A25 (AIELLI-CELANO exit) just 5 or 6 km away, who will also have an experience they will never forget. The atmosphere was great and the traditional cuisine was truly well-prepared: excellent menu and fantastic polenta. Everything we tried was top-quality. 02/06/2026: We decided to try this family-run restaurant and were truly thrilled. The place is charming, simple, and welcoming, with a genuine atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. We ate wonderfully, using high-quality local products showcased in the best possible way. A special mention goes to the ravioli with sweet ricotta and sauce: they took me back in time, reminding me of the ones my grandmother used to make. They're also a typical dish in some towns in Basilicata, and finding the same authentic flavors was a wonderful surprise. The meat was also excellent, especially the local grilled lamb, truly tasty and cooked to perfection. And then the baked potatoes: it's reductive to call them just a side dish; they were something unique. The waiter explained that they are "di Secca" potatoes, grown on the Cinque Miglia plateau, and you could taste the quality of the ingredients. To conclude, we sampled the desserts, including an extraordinary farrozzo, a very interesting reinterpretation of the more famous parrozzo, which is absolutely worth a try. The staff was impeccable: friendly, sociable, and always available to share their passion for the region and its products. A place where you eat well, feel good, and leave wanting more. I highly recommend it! Kudos to the entire staff.

27/03/2026: What a wonderful discovery! During a heavy snowfall, we decided to drive a few kilometers further to check out all the positive reviews we'd read. Nestled in a small village alley, we finally found authentic cuisine in a notoriously touristy area where this is rare. The warm and friendly atmosphere, combined with simple yet exquisitely prepared dishes, careful selection of ingredients, and a warm welcome make this a must-visit for travelers interested in discovering the traditions of Abruzzo. We'll definitely be back.

16/07/2026: I came to this restaurant for the first time with a friend, Tony, an Italian-American, who is originally from the area. It's located in front of a beautiful, ancient historic church. The place is very charming, elegant, and not overly large, but very well-kept and serene. We enjoyed the tasting menu of appetizers, from beef carpaccio to cod fillet and chicken livers, all excellent dishes, exceptional, and the variety of local cheeses, including one in particular with a distinctive flavor and texture called Tritico, a true symphony of tastes and flavors. Then we sampled a chitarra, a classic Abruzzo dish with sheep's milk ragù. I complimented the restaurant's handmade pasta. We then sampled local desserts, an excellent wine cellar, and drank an excellent Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Terre Aquilane Superiori. We met the owners, who were very kind and professional in explaining the dishes and pairings to us, complimenting them on their cuisine, rich in the flavors and unique tastes of Abruzzo. I don't know the area, but as a foodie, I think this restaurant in Sulmona is a beacon of the fine cuisine of this beautiful city. Highly recommended, it's worth the joy of coming to taste their dishes. Returned after a year, the atmosphere is always pleasant, coming to taste other dishes of your traditional Abruzzo cuisine, from garlic sprouts to your pasta, with fabulous compliments to the chefs in the kitchen.

29/06/2026: The restaurant and the rooms are both beautiful. We ate hearty, high-quality traditional dishes. The service was impeccable and professional. The room was immaculately clean, and the breakfast was excellent and plentiful. My wife was particularly struck by the beauty of the plants inside the restaurant and appreciated not only the rarity of the plants on display but also the artistic talent of the person tending them. We will definitely return when we're in the area again. Excellent!

29/06/2026: This is one of those restaurants where you’re treated like family. We probably went to this restaurant more than the others. Wonderful food and amazing service. We always had Claudia as our server and she was always so personable and always checking on our table. Everything on the menu is amazing. They also have burgers for dinner if you ever want a break from all the pasta and pizza :)

A sort of "gourmet" Abruzzo cuisine, such as spaghetti with garlic, oil, and chili pepper on a bed of mashed potatoes; believe us, they're delicious in their simplicity. Lamb chops with a truly refined herb marinade. A beautiful location with an adjoining pool.
