04/04/2025: I had the pleasure of visiting La Locanda del Puledro Impennato during a recent trip to Italy while in L'Aquila. As an avid Lord of the Rings fan, this was an absolute must-see. I cannot give a high enough recommendation for the establishment. The food was excellent, the atmosphere impeccable, and I cannot imagine that the actual Prancing Pony could be a better establishment. I also had the pleasure of being served by Mario, who spoke English and made my visit much more pleasant considering my lack of command of the Italian language. Mario was attentive and kind and was an absolutely excellent host during my first ever meal in a restaurant in Italy. I will certainly be returning sometime, and I highly encourage everyone else to visit as well.

Typical appetizer from L'Aquila and then some decidedly abundant pasta dishes, good, top-notch, as are the main courses, the desserts too! All so much and so delicious, accompanied by the contagious sympathy of Paolo, a real joker. Very honest prices, and excellent house wine. What more could you want?

13/03/2025: I came with a group of friends on a Friday with live music. We ate some excellent kebabs that the very nice Federica described to us in detail, excellent quality craft beers from the Cafasse brewery. We had a great time, see you next time

Furthermore, the girls explained to us in detail the menu and excellent craft beers from the brewery they came from. I wanted to highlight the excellent food that was brought to me especially for the excellent meat. Thanks for everything, we highly recommend it. We will definitely return

16/03/2025: Ci siamo trovati a Celano per trascorrere un fine settimana sulla neve ad Ovindoli. L'hotel in cui abbiamo alloggiato non aveva il servizio di ristorazione e ci ha suggerito questo locale per mangiare carne. Ci siamo trovati bene: la locanda richiama molto l'idea del castello, i cibi semplici ma ben preparati e con un giusto rapporto qualità/prezzo. Siam tornati anche per il pranzo il giorno successivo! La ragazza che ci ha serviti è stata carinissima, sempre sorridente e disponibile. Anche nella gestione delle comande i tempi d'attesa erano perfetti.

15/02/2025: It's really difficult to enter this place and stop ordering food. The menu tempts you and entices you to order all types of those delicious grilled kebabs. From the classics with sheep to the vegetarian, whatever your choice, you will be enraptured by the taste of the grill and the excellent raw materials. The bruschettas are equally tasty and varied, thanks to excellent bread and strong but never overwhelming flavours. Even among the choices of pasta and desserts there is a great variety capable of satisfying all palates. The environment is convivial, perfect for groups of friends who want to have fun gathering at a large table, but also for families and couples who want to get their hands dirty together. The service was friendly and fast, able to serve large numbers of people at once and remain courteous until the end of the service. A necessary visit if you come to L'Aquila.

I piatti sono molto buoni e ricercati, con ingredienti di ottima qualità. Il locale curato e pulito. Potrei fare molti altri elogi ma preferisco consigliarvi di provarlo... Ottimo anche il rapporto qualità/prezzo.

A sure point of reference for those looking for a family environment, quality, variety of courses, abundance of dishes, refinement, professionalism and not least in importance but because it is not a given to receive from all the staff... great courtesy, hospitality and attention towards the customer. What about Roberto, the mother.......exceptional people where the customer becomes a member of the family. Adele is a very kind and professional person who accompanies our requests, illustrating to us, with great courtesy, mastery of topics and love, the history and origin of the dish itself. It provides advice on how to taste and savor what you order. Today, on the occasion of a special day for me, we were delighted by Adele with a very pleasant and unexpected as well as welcome surprise. My partner, having to be very careful about her lactose and gluten-free diet, was literally served by Adele with great attention and care, with foods that could not cause her any harm and a recommended and targeted diet.
