27/10/2025: My compagno and I enjoyed a delicious dinner here during a roadtrip in Abruzzo, which concluded with the chef, Mario, coming out to say hi to us and gifting us with more of his time after a long day of work. We learned so much about l'Aquila, papal history, the sisma, local specialties and places not to miss in the area. The restaurant's atmosphere is cool and I would have liked to have tried everything on Mario's menu, he is so knowledgable about food and culture, personal glow an unexpected regalo. These experiences make local explorations next level

Local and traditional products—small mazen, I'd call them—that bring our land to the plate, and Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo wine. Dinner is also worth it!
Friendly service and a peaceful atmosphere!

08/11/2025: Excellent family-run restaurant. We had a fantastic lunch, from appetizers to desserts. Definitely recommended. Reservations required, seating is limited. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
29/10/2025: Last Saturday, after a lovely hike in the mountains with the family, we visited the magnificent, largest beech forest in Europe. Nestled between the towns of Pereto, Cappadocia, and Tagliacozzo, it's truly enchanting this time of year. In Cappadocia, we stopped at this little gem I already knew. The atmosphere was rustic and homey. The food was excellent, with simple, timeless flavors. We ordered tagliolini with porcini mushrooms, mixed crepes, and gnocchi with ragù. For our main course, a very tender tagliata, but the arrosticini were unsurpassed, and the breaded lamb deserved top marks. The desserts were also delicious: a crepe with Nutella for my son, a pear baked in Montepulciano for me, and a crème brulee for my wife. A liter of house red wine, coffee, and gentian. Everything was truly delicious; I highly recommend you come and experience the flavors of our wonderful Abruzzo. All in all, we spent €100 for the three of us, and the prices are still what they used to be.

21/11/2025: “Corso Stretto” was a truly pleasant discovery: a small but meticulously crafted restaurant with just a few tables, so reservations are recommended. The menu is refined, innovative without compromising on tradition, and the dishes are always beautifully presented.
We tried: artisanal rigatoni with ricotta, sausage, and truffle: excellent. The gnocchi with pumpkin, porcini mushrooms, and stracciatella were also very good. The suckling pig with truffles and chicory was equally impressive. To finish, the gianduia fondant—original and delicious—and a lemon tartlet, beautiful to look at and delicious.
The prices are fair, especially considering the central location.

The desserts, however, deserve a special mention. The lactose-free creations, entirely homemade, are a true triumph of taste and technique. Gianduja chocolate blends with a velvety rum cream in a play of textures and aromas that captivates from the first bite: measured sweetness, elegant aromas, and a balance that speaks the language of fine pastry making.
An unmissable address for those seeking sincere yet refined cuisine, capable of moving with simplicity and leaving you wanting to return.

Sincere compliments. We loved everything, from the appetizers, you could taste the quality and freshness in every bite. The two first courses and the second course... The wild boar cacciatore, which honestly, until now, I've always felt was the strong game, but this is the first restaurant where I've tasted delicacy and, above all, incredible tenderness. Everything, everything, delicious!
With a nice DNA Rosso, priced at €78.00, so excellent value for money! Thank you, it will definitely be our favorite place when we're near L'Aquila! Guaranteed!

21/10/2025: We moved to Abruzzo, a wonderful land, and we tasted typical Abruzzese dishes... delicious... well, I recommend you first of all... Ristorante il Setaccio. Fresh pasta made by them is a real delicacy. Plus, the owners are wonderful people.

23/09/2025: An intense experience sampling the chef's dishes, all refined and delicious. Worthy of note are the saffron and Taleggio tavioli, and the veal creamed with Montepulciano. Recommended.
04/09/2025: Set amongst the postcard perfect backdrop of Monte Velino, this is without doubt a textbook hidden gem quaint town restaurant.
If the drive to Rosciolo dei Marsi isn’t spectacular enough, it is matched with an equally spectacular dining experience at Locanda dell’Arco.
The cuisine is a far cry from the usual suspects found in most abruzzese restaurants… this is next level.
The restaurant is run by a young husband and wife team, with the husband heading the kitchen.
The Chef has brought his Piemontese culinary roots into the heart of Abruzzo, with a menu that respects both tradition but also with a flair of innovation.
The menu is small and hand written, ensuring it’s align with what’s seasonal and available at its best. The wine is in a league of its own, expect small batch barolo, barbera d’asti and barbaresco, amongst many others, all hand picked by the passionate couple.
The chef’s wife, who leads the service, highly recommended the carpaccio di manzo with mandarin and basil sorbet. Let’s just say, I drove 2 hours to arrive at this restaurant and would travel 2 hours again just for this dish. Refreshing, clean and refined, without being pretentious, it set the pace for what was to be a memorable meal.
As a Piemontese should be, the chef is famed for his risotto, today it was zafferanno with liquorice, his signature dish I apparently. No this is not something i would ever order without a recommendation, so I’m lucky I asked. This was without doubt the best risotto I’ver ever had, it wasn’t to be expected in a small remote town in the middle of Abruzzo, but this was just spectacular.
To finish, another Piemontese classic, bonet. A chocolate and amaretto dessert that was probably the best spoon of food I’ve had in a very long time in an Italian restaurant. Luckily we ordered two of the same as it would be criminal to share. The desserts are truly outstanding and if I was a guts, I’d probably would have ordered two!
The experience at Locanda was unexpectedly exceptional.
The staff, the meal, the location, this is a restaurant that begs to be revisited and well worth a day dream even from Rome!

31/08/2025: Waiting times are completely unreasonable for the value for money! Worst pizza we've ever eaten in Italy. Outrageously low-class, like a train station with the noise level and the ambiance is terrible. Definitely not recommended!

One of the best restaurants with a good quality/price ratio. We opted for the multi-course menu and everything was delicious! To make us happy, they even offered us two starters.
The owner was super kind and available to give us tips on what to see in the area.
