15/10/2025: We already can't wait to eat at this restaurant again! The staff and owner will welcome you wonderfully. The atmosphere is simple but very welcoming. The food is the icing on the cake: traditional yet sophisticated dishes with excellent pairings, all at fair prices. I recommend trying the Dulcis Venia dessert—we could have eaten 10 of them! We'll be back soon.
14/10/2025: I've noticed small changes to the place, improving the aesthetics. When you walk in and sit down, a journey through flavors begins, paired elegantly and never banally; everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail.

18/10/2025: Spending €54.70 seemed completely out of line for: five cheese and egg balls, three fried breaded lamb cutlets, a sautéed chicory, a cream tart, a bottle of cherry wine, and a digestive.
If I'd also had an appetizer, would I have spent €70? 🤦🤦🤦🤦
29/09/2025: A wonderful discovery, a warm and friendly welcome, and authentic food. Everything was delicious: cheeses, homemade pasta, arrosticini, and an excellent house Montepulciano wine.

13/10/2025: What can I say, where to begin...
We arrive for lunch, although it was more of a kidnapping than a lunch. The table is medium-sized, and the first thing we ask is if they have vegan options. Otherwise, I would have easily looked for another place for myself and another person. I say yes, and so we all sit down.
An eternity passes before anyone comes to ask if we want a drink; no menus are available.
Another eternity passes before they come to ask us about appetizers, which we obviously couldn't choose since the menus were never brought to the table. I remind the waiter that I'm vegan, asking what the vegan options are, and the answer I get is "I DON'T KNOW, VEGETABLES," in a tone that's annoyed to say the least.
The famous vegetables arrive: some tasteless grilled peppers and mediocre eggplants—these are the vegan options. Congratulations.
Another eternity later, another waiter arrives (or maybe the owner, I don't know), asking us for our starters, again without having had a chance to consult the menu. Once again, I naively ask what I should choose, and he replies, "You have to tell me what you want," which I would have done if I'd only known what was on offer, but without a shred of a menu, it's hard to ask for anything. When I reiterate which foods I don't eat, he even rolls his eyes at me, astonished. We settle on pasta with porcini mushrooms, a mediocre dish like the rest of the dishes, which also left me feeling nauseous for the rest of the day, and perhaps it's best not to investigate the reasons.
The other diners fared better, but they too were offered samples of three starters, but only two of them arrived.
When some asked for second courses, the initial response was "we have meat," further information was provided upon prompting, shocking.
Now I wonder how it's possible, in 2025, to approach customers like this. I've rarely seen such ignorance and rudeness from someone offering a service, or at least supposedly so. Not to mention that all it would have taken was for them to immediately say, "No, they don't have vegan options," and I would have saved myself an absurd amount of money for dishes that should shame the people who prepared them, and you for having a clearly unwelcome customer at your establishment.

27/09/2025: If you're passing through Roccaraso—winter after skiing or summer after a hike in the Monte Greco woods—don't miss the opportunity to have dinner (or lunch!) at Chi Chi Bio. I stumbled upon it almost by accident and had an excellent food and wine experience. Quality food, knowledgeable staff, and a reasonable wait. I highly recommend it.

11/11/2025: It is walkable from a town of Barisciano. The restaurant has very warm and friendly atmosphere. They have very good quality/ variety of pizzas made by hand and special oven. We enjoyed pizza, veggies and wine. They gave us pretty photos of the area. It added a great memory to the trip.

Very well prepared dishes, good selection of dishes, super friendly host and owner which is also the cook. Every dish was great, and the had wide selection of Gluten free dishes which were excellent. Gluten free deserts as well. Highly recommend.

One afternoon, I decided to treat myself to a break at Bar FratelliNurzia with my son, and it was an elegant, warm, and authentic experience.
The establishment, located in the heart of Piazza Duomo, with its history dating back to 1835 and its art nouveau atmosphere, is perfect for stopping, taking a breather, and enjoying something unique.
We ordered the famous nougat coffee, perfectly balanced between the intense aroma of coffee and the smooth sweetness of the "Nurzia" nougat from L'Aquila.
The texture is enveloping, the flavor delicate yet bold.
This sweet moment complemented the elegance of the establishment and the kindness of the service.
Special thanks to Gianluca and Giuly, the baristas who welcomed us with great kindness, smiles, and professionalism: they guided us in our choices, explaining the history of nougat, and making the break even more special.
And I can't help but mention the owner, Natalia, who, even though she wasn't there, I already know, and I know how much love and care she brings to this family project.
The result? A place where time slows down, flavor is celebrated, and humanity is felt.
A full five-star rating.

The place is well-maintained and the food is truly delicious.
I've been there with people who had various allergies and was pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness, attentive service, and good food quality.
A bit out of the way, but worth the detour for a good meal.
