Unparalleled views and traditional Abruzzo fare, especially the polenta, masterfully prepared in various versions. The service was courteous and prompt. The bill, in my opinion, was slightly above average, but the exclusive location and the undeniable culinary quality justify the expense. I highly recommend it if you're near Sulmona.

We spent a beautiful, quiet evening, and everything was very good, a kindness never seen before, then we witnessed the cutting of the polenta, and the poetry of the owner, the polenta, I recommend it to everyone, a beautiful experience and foodTop

Everything was wonderful, confirming what we already knew. (I've personally known Torchio since it was also a pizzeria.)
An evening with friends at the outdoor tables, with the wonderful backdrop of the surrounding mountains, every dish we tasted was delicious.
The service was VERY professional and courteous, and the prices were in line with the market.
Although polenta rognosa is their specialty, on this occasion we enjoyed hot and cold appetizers and then directly into main courses, including mixed grills and seasonal side dishes. There was an excellent selection of bottled wines, and the desserts were truly delicious.
I've attached photos and highly recommend them.

It's a typical place where the house special is traditionally called polenta dei carbonai.
The nice thing that happened before our meal was that the owner gave an explanation while he poured the polenta onto the table and everyone watched and listened to his poetry.

If you find yourself heading to Sulmona, starting from Roccaraso, after the 5-mile plateau, you'll first reach the village of Rocca Pia, and after a few bends, you'll find Pettorano sul Gizio. It's a little village worth visiting, and if you can, stop for a bite to eat and then stroll along the Gizio River. It's worth it.

The food, staff, and atmosphere were so amazing that we came back three evenings in a row. We tried a different dish every night and loved every one of them. Super friendly staff and excellent food. Wholeheartedly recommend!

A true spectacle, thanks to the meticulous attention to detail in the presentation of traditional dishes, which still retain the flavour of the cuisine of yesteryear. Each dish is carefully narrated and described. Prices are more than fair. The restaurant is nestled in a small square with a wonderful view. Reservations are recommended.
