10/07/2024: Lovely spot, friendly service, tasty food and reasonable prices and menu. Very nice staff which were quick an inefficient. No trying to be too fancy just down to earth good local cuisine.

07/07/2024: Absolutely awful, severely disappointing visit at La Bottega this evening with our family of 6 adults and two teenagers. We enjoyed a lovely meal two days ago, so much so, we decided to book for the rest of the family when they arrived today. We confirmed the reservation with our waiter who took great lengths to discuss the vegetarian options for our daughter. We walked down from HPB in time for our reservation at 7.30pm, meeting people we know from our first night’s meal on the way. NOBODY had our booking!!!! NOBODY had any idea we were arriving!! As a table or 8, we are consciously aware we need to book in advance to avoid not finding a table. But we didn’t expect the restaurant to let us down in this way. All HPB bond holders - Please be aware that bookings are very ‘loose’ at this restaurant. Despite the fact you walk away from dinner feeling secure you have a booking for a few days time, you will be sorely disappointed. The staff were unhelpful in that they could so nothing for 8 hungry people. Very, very sad to say this but we absolutely DO NOT recommend.

21/07/2024: Siamo stati in questo ristorante a pranzo. Abbiamo preso una bruschetta con pomodori, dei crostini con pecorino e guanciale e una tartare condita alle logge. La bruschetta ai pomodori davvero molto buona, una delle migliori della vita assaggiate dalla mia fidanzata. I crostini con pecorino di Pienza e guanciale buoni, ma speravo arrivassero con il pecorino a fette e non fuso. La tartare, invece, davvero davvero ben fatta, a partire dalla carne di ottima qualità. Servizio rapido, ma senza mai mancare di rispetto verso i clienti. Molto consigliato per pranzo se siete in visita a Montalcino. Tornerò sicuramente!

17/07/2024: We had a disappointing experience in Montalcino. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant, we didn’t feel welcome. Our appetizer was served before we could even order a bottle of wine, and then the pasta arrived very quickly. Although the food was okay. After we finished our bottle of wine and requested the check. Unfortunately we waited after for 25 minutes, then we had to ask again. The waiter responded rudely, saying it was on its way. It finally arrived five minutes later with no apology for the delay and no offer of dessert or coffee. This is not a way a customer has to be treated. There are definitely better options in the area

24/07/2024: I had the impression that the waiters didn't care about us at all. They sat us (2 people) in a dark corner, we could barely read the menu (also because of the very poor font). We had to ask for ice or lemon, which we ordered with Coke. It was supposed to be sparkling water, but it came plain. In the meantime, they served some old focaccia that was impossible to bite into. We got a pizza, which we ordered as a main course (previously appetizers) and we didn't get any plates or cutlery with it. The staff was totally uninterested in us. On the plus side: relatively tasty tartare (only halfway through I realized there was yolk under the truffles) and baked cheese (probably pecorino). Prices, as in Tuscany, are high.
