L'Osteria di Spaltenna In Gaiole in chianti

We visited this beautiful castle at the beginning of August. The location is wonderful, in the heart of the Tuscan countryside. The staff is very kind and caring and Angelo is truly an angel. We hope to return next year!

We had a wonderful time! We were there for my birthday and loved every moment and corner of this enchanted jewel! The place is very beautiful, pure poetry and the food exquisite. We were served by Angelo, whose advice and kindness made the experience just perfect! We hope to visit again soon

Beautiful hotel. So glad my TA booked us here. Staff was great. Room was large and bathroom was phenomenal. Bed was slightly hard, but since we prefer that, it was not a big deal. Breakfast is outstanding and there is a wonderful outdoor eating area in the gardens overlooking the countryside. Perfect place to share yet another bottle of wine at the end of the day.

Nous avons vécu une expérience mitigée dans cet hôtel. Nous venons d’y passer 7 nuits en famille (2 adultes et 2 enfants de 6 et 10 ans). Les points forts: - le village de Gaiole est très bien situé, au cœur du Chianti; - Le parc est très beau, en pleine nature et la vue est exceptionnelle de la piscine et de la terrasse du restaurant; - La taille de la piscine à débordement et sa propreté, qui étaient vraiment un plaisir; - Une chambre double grande et fraîche malgré la chaleur grâce à l’épaisseur des murs. Cependant, plusieurs points faibles: - un restaurant « osteria » extrêmement cher pour la qualité/quantité des plats, sans parler du prix du moindre verre de vin en comparaison avec les restaurants de luxe proches de l’hôtel (je vous conseille l’Osteria Perano à deux pas); - Un service inexistant à la piscine, loin de ce qu’on peut attendre d’un hôtel de luxe: pas assez d’ombre/de parasols; personne ne vient enlever les serviettes abandonnées ou les verres vides avant le soir; pas de service de bar proche de la piscine (il faut remonter jusqu’au restaurant pour demander des boissons); - Enfin, une rigidité étonnante pour ce type d’hôtel : nous avons demandé le dernier jour de pouvoir rester un peu à la piscine après l’heure du Check out et cela nous a été tout simplement refusé.

This hotel was so cute and peaceful with the most amazing views. Views from the room, from the breakfast area, from the Michelen star restaurant and just all around. Every corner was just so peaceful. A nice break from all the city crowds. I would love to come back and would definitely come back when I’m back in Tuscany.
