L'Osteria di Spaltenna In Gaiole in chianti

Castello di Spaltenna makes a striking first impression: its location in the Tuscan hills is stunning, and the pool is fantastic. Architecturally, the property is truly exceptional and full of character. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive. However, considering the high price point, there are a few aspects that fall short. The gym has equipment that isn't working – this simply shouldn't happen at a resort of this caliber. Even more disappointing: the beds consist of two single beds pushed together. At these prices, this is simply unacceptable. The restaurant also leaves much to be desired. The prices are high, but the quality is, at best, average. Pre-packaged items like tortellini don't fit the ambiance or the price point – one expects significantly more.

Fantastic structure! A place definitely worth visiting.

A 3-night stay in this magnificent hotel in Tuscany. The location is stunning, as are the facilities and restaurants; relaxation is guaranteed. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The only downside: upon departure (12 pm checkout), we asked if it would be possible to have lunch in the restaurant and enjoy a few extra hours at the pool (until the arrival of new guests). Eating in the restaurant was fine, but the pool was not. No discussion... I found this reaction completely inappropriate for a 5-star hotel... I think there was clearly a way to allow us to enjoy the pool for two more hours... but no effort was made. A shame.
