Unfortunately, appearances don't match the taste: products are overly sweet and average.
My sore points
1. Cornflakes as a topping for desserts, no thanks. They're soft and it's hard to see what extra touch they're supposed to give the product.
2. Charging for a GLASS of water, for a €35 purchase, seems like a joke to me.
Winning a Cake Star isn't a miracle worker, but small improvements (including the friendliness of the staff) could make this pastry shop truly excellent.

19/02/2026: A small but super cozy place. We had the schiacciata, and the ingredients were top-notch. They also offer pinsa, pasta dishes, and main courses. The staff was incredibly friendly (we asked for a change to a schiacciata, and they made it exactly how we wanted it). Highly recommended for a quick meal in the historic center of San Gimignano.
17/02/2026: The service was excellent and the food was delicious! I highly recommend the Ribolli soup.

14/03/2026: Italian Americans from NYC here; we fell in love with Torrione and the family that owns it. In our 5 days in Tuscany staying at Palazzo San Lorenzo we came here 3 times. It is by far the most reasonably priced restaurant in the area, and we had a life-changing pizza (it had fresh mozz di búfala, Tuscan sausage & fried eggplant). Ignore the dumb things people said in other reviews, if you like good home cooking at a good price come here.

Si mangia davvero bene con porzioni abbondanti la qualita è davvero top! Meglio di molti posti rinomati della zona!
15/06/2025: Abbiamo trascorso io e la mia famiglia 3 giorni in questo posto fantastico, molto suggestiva la posizione, casa pulita con tutti i confort, cibo ottimo e proprietaria super gentile!
Ci ritorneremo sicuramente!

01/03/2026: We came across this amazing spot in the Michelin guide. It was simply brilliant and such a special place to celebrate my 30th birthday. The service was expectional - guiding us through wine choices. The setting balanced a private dining experience, while retaining the authenticity and buzz of a Tuscan restaurant. The attention to detail (in presentation, flavour and textures) was so clear! I hope one day to be able to return.
04/01/2026: A fantastic experience!! The location is evocative and meticulously maintained, every corner exudes history and charm. The food is pure poetry, top-notch ingredients cooked to perfection. The wait staff is highly trained and available to answer any questions or concerns about the venue. The price is reasonable for the quality of the venue, the service, and the cuisine. I will remember it for a long time, and I will return at every opportunity.

16/11/2025: We were welcomed by the owners, and even though they didn't serve food (during the winter months), we still drank excellent wine and had a few snacks. The book selection was also excellent, and we came home with a good book and a great desire to return in the summer!
21/10/2025: The best introduction to the beautiful town of San Quirico. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch, an aperitif, or a literary snack with excellent niche wines. Recommended.

13/03/2026: We went twice in one week. The food is delicious and special. Can you go to a Chinese restaurant in Italy? Yes, you can. Friendly service. You really should try it. We were very satisfied.

21/02/2026: Nice place, good lacation, low quality food; olive oil should be a real Tuscan one, but taste quite cheap.
20/02/2026: Friendly service, but the food didn't live up to expectations:
1) Wild boar stew was tough and dry, probably over an hour or so in the cooking process. Poorly presented.
2) Mixed salad limited to two ingredients: cherry tomatoes and banal iceberg lettuce—the kind you find at fast food restaurants, so to speak.
3) The olive oil served at the table was of poor quality, cheap, and not up to par with the regional standards.
The generous portions and the courtesy of the staff add one star to the otherwise insufficient score.
