The ribollita and pici were tasty, without too many frills, and they kept us company like an old friend who may not surprise, but never disappoints. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was quiet.

03/02/2026: We had this gem close to home and didn't know it! The restaurant is housed in a charming historic building. More precisely, in what were once the stables of the hunting lodge of Leopold II, the Grand Duke of Tuscany. Everything was excellent, from the ambiance, to the welcome, to the food, to the wine 🍷... We recommend it. We'll definitely be back...

A very small defect, improve the kindness of the female staff.

25/02/2026: Pros: Large pool complex, very friendly and helpful staff, plenty of linens, cleanliness. Cons: The details. Lack of attention to dietary restrictions, which were stated in writing and repeatedly verbally (use of allergens even if not listed on the menu), even in room amenities. These are serious issues in my opinion (which cost me two days of illness and the resulting cancellation of my plans for those two days). I can't comment on the breakfast buffet because I was too unwell to leave the room and eat. Less serious, but still noticeable, issues are: in the room (suite), an exposed plastic drain in the bathroom and a lack of basic toiletries (obviously not towels, but toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable soaps, etc.), lack of clear signage (besides me, I saw many guests wandering around asking for information), some areas were decidedly poorly organized (there was no room to leave bathrobes and slippers in the private pool. The indoor loungers were definitely insufficient for the influx of guests.). Leaks and humidity. Which are expected in a spa. But in a 5-star resort. The overall experience is something I'm forced to reject it.. Especially considering the overall cost.. I don't just mean money obviously.

15/02/2026: Overall, the property is worth the price. The receptionists, hotel, bar, and restaurant staff are impeccable. Professional and reliable. I'm a satisfied customer. I'd like to leave a hopefully constructive comment about the restaurant: we've been to your other properties (ex Grotta Giusti) and were completely satisfied with the food. Unfortunately, the cuisine at the restaurant at Fonteverde isn't up to par with the property. I'm not saying the food is bad, but it's just not up to par. I hope this comment is constructive, as the property is truly unparalleled and the staff is highly professional. The central bar is absolutely worthy: I've never had such a good drink. For this very reason, it's truly a shame not to elevate the restaurant's cuisine to 5-star standards. We'll definitely be back; we had a great time.

09/03/2026: A few days ago, on the first day of our holiday in the Val d'Orcia, we dined at this osteria located in Poggio Rosa, about 3 km from Castiglione d'Orcia. A rustic and simple restaurant, it offers traditional Tuscan cuisine. From a good wine list, we chose a Dirimpettaio Orcia Riserva 2022, a full-bodied Sangiovese. Their specialty, however, is the Florentine steak, grilled by the owner. The meat was excellent, perfectly rare; we ordered the minimum cut, 1.5 kg, accompanied by beans al fiasco (flask-cooked beans) and roast potatoes. Naturally, already full, we moved straight on to dessert: classic cantucci with Vin Santo and ricotta with honey. Water and coffee rounded out the meal, bringing the bill to €160 for two (€102 for the Florentine steak alone; the price of €6.80/hg is perhaps a bit higher than the average for other restaurants in the area...). A highly recommended place.

01/01/2026: Fantastic experience! Small, welcoming place, the owner Marcello seems like a typical old-fashioned host. We had fabulous homemade pici with wild boar ragù and a fantastic Florentine steak, 10 out of 10!!! The ricotta tart was also excellent. Highly recommended!

09/01/2026: A very quaint and welcoming restaurant! There's on-site parking. The staff is kind, friendly, and very helpful. The service is excellent. The dishes are varied and of excellent quality. (Also ideal for lunch breaks.) (Small tip: there's a smoking area—which could disturb non-smokers, so I recommend clearly separating the two areas. Sometimes smoke can still be smelled at neighboring tables.) Overall, a truly excellent experience! A go-to restaurant for us! Thank you for your attention. ♡

07/01/2026: We now often frequent this Tuscan restaurant in Settimo Milanese for lunch. They prepare delicious dishes; we often opt for the one-course meal, a generous combination of first and second courses. Or you can opt for a selection of first and second courses that change daily. The dessert menu is delicious. In the evening, they change their look with a richer and more sophisticated menu. Recommended.

11/11/2025: A true Tuscan gem! I had a fantastic tasting experience at Fattoria di Montemorli. The setting is beautiful — rustic, welcoming, and full of history. Vittorio was an outstanding host, taking time to share the story behind the winery and each of the delicious wines we tasted. Every glass captured the spirit of Tuscany, from their Chianti Classico to the Vin Santo. Highly recommend stopping here if you want an authentic, family-run experience between Siena and San Gimignano. It was one of the highlights of my trip! 🍷
