11/06/2026: BEST SCHIMATA EVER: delicious piadinas, a wide variety, fair prices, and friendly staff.
I've been there many times (even sober) and it's always delicious.
Highly recommended are the "Atomica," the "Milanese," and the sweet piadinas with Nutella and mascarpone.
If you want to eat in, I recommend takeout because there are benches, but they're very busy, especially in the evening.

02/06/2026: The hotel is very nice, with a pool, garden, small children's playground, pool bar (which wasn't open in May), and a very good restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our well-being, and we had a lovely room with two balconies. There was also a lift, but it was quite slow. Large communal terraces offered stunning views of the lake. There was a wooden shed for storing our bikes and a large parking area for the car. The only drawback was the small breakfast room in the basement, which I personally found uninviting, but breakfast itself was adequate.
01/06/2026: Good location in a quiet area right in front of Lake Massaciuccoli.
Excellent services and good food, an excellent base for visiting Lucca and the Viareggio Riviera and beyond.
Prices are reasonable.

23/06/2026: Great little find in the town. We did the pasta making class with Angela and she was the best! We went back for dinner twice. Great menu and atmosphere, and very friendly staff, with lots of laughs. Felt like home.

08/07/2026: What a wonderful discovery this place was in Lucca. The experience was truly memorable in every way.
We truly appreciated the meticulous attention to detail, starting with the elegant white ceramic plates embossed with a delicate yellow cone-shaped logo. Each course was crafted with almost artistic precision, transforming the meal into a truly sensory journey that captivated us.
Everything was excellent. We will definitely return to relive this special atmosphere.
18/06/2026: An extraordinary gastronomic experience. Chef Tomei and his staff fully met my expectations; everything was fantastic. We couldn't have celebrated our anniversary in a better way.
I absolutely recommend it.

11/06/2026: One of the best options to eat a meal in Barga and surrounding areas. Capretz offers traditional Italian food but also has other culinary options including Argentinian, American, and Mexican to name a few.
I ordered the steak and my wife ordered the goulash, both were amazing.
This was one of the best meals we had in Italy. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
11/06/2026: We came for lunch. We didn't need to book but there was a large table of 20 reserved so maybe best to if you can. Service was good and the staff understood English. We ordered a capretz platter to start, a capretz burger and a Mexican burger washed down with a small beer, water and an ice tea. It was quite warm but there is plenty of shade to cool down in. It's a short walk up a steep hill from the road but worth it.

09/06/2026: Typical Lucca cuisine, the food is excellent, and the view of the Lucca plain is enchanting. The restaurant's windowed terrace is lovely. The prices are in line with the quality and size of the dishes, and are still fair. The restaurant is clean, and the service is excellent. We will definitely be back.

11/07/2026: Great local restaurant with lovely food and kind service. Went gor a 'Worker's Lunch' (€11 per head with coperto, primo, secondo, contorted and water). Some dishes carry a small surcharge but we found the quality to be very good. The panzanella was amazing. Will return. Recommended.
13/06/2026: Very nice place. Generous dishes. Tortelli Lucchesi are a little different from the traditional ones and very delicate, super focaccia, quality cured meats and decent house wine. Good experience.

19/05/2026: A cowboy themed trattoria specializing in steaks, but this last time 2 in our party of 6 ordered the steak and the rest of us were served our meals and after some time left, and it was another half hour before they ever got their steaks

14/07/2026: one of the best restaurants i've ever been to. prices, food, and service, as well as athmosphere and location, all perfect. it's a bit far away from the main roads, but absolutely worth it. it's very meat based, so I wouldn't suggest it to vegetarians or vegans. if you're in the area, you have to go!

13/06/2026: We were in Viareggio for the June 2nd long weekend, and had the pleasure of dining at La Barchina, enjoying freshly fried fish. A highly recommended place.
12/06/2026: Quick and easy dinner along the Viareggio harbor. Really good fried food, crispy and not too greasy. The shrimp and calamari were superb, but the cod was even better!! The girls working there were kind and friendly, truly lovely.
Highly recommended!!
