Caffè Capretz In Barga

One of the best options to eat a meal in Barga and surrounding areas. Capretz offers traditional Italian food but also has other culinary options including Argentinian, American, and Mexican to name a few. I ordered the steak and my wife ordered the goulash, both were amazing. This was one of the best meals we had in Italy. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

We came for lunch. We didn't need to book but there was a large table of 20 reserved so maybe best to if you can. Service was good and the staff understood English. We ordered a capretz platter to start, a capretz burger and a Mexican burger washed down with a small beer, water and an ice tea. It was quite warm but there is plenty of shade to cool down in. It's a short walk up a steep hill from the road but worth it.

I drove all the way here, the food was delicious, and the owner was very nice. Highly recommended!!!

Wonderful food - highly recommend the truffle tartare and the tordelli al ragu! Very nice staff, reasonably prices.

An excellent, family-friendly place to spend time with friends while sipping a good wine, a cocktail, or some delicious food. Located beneath the characteristic market loggia, it enjoys a prime location, with an internal terrace offering beautiful views of the Apuan Alps and the Apennines. A varied menu with excellent food and sophisticated pairings, excellent service, and courteous service from all the staff. A truly excellent place to eat or enjoy a delicious aperitif. A recommended stop for anyone visiting the beautiful village of Barga. Highly recommended.

A perfect day out of Florence, discovering Barga: a truly enchanting place that immediately won us over. For lunch, we stopped by chance at the Capretz restaurant... and what a surprise! A warm welcome and a delightful atmosphere from the very first moment. The food? Simply fantastic. The chicken wings with spicy sauce were unique, never tasted so good! The burger was truly delicious, and the cheese board was rich and high-quality. All accompanied by an excellent wine. To top it off: a perfect tiramisu and an excellent coffee. And as if that weren't enough, they also offered us limoncello and amaro—a gesture that truly makes a difference. An experience we'll cherish forever and a place we'll definitely return to. Highly recommended!

Fantastic creative menu using local ingredients. The food was delicious, especially the polenta with mushrooms, risotto with asparagus and pasta dishes, all amazing. Some of the smaller tables inside have an incredible view over the town. Great location and relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful loggia right in the cetre of Barga.

Beautiful terrace, very friendly chef, delicious vegetarian platter, excellent carbonara, wonderful tiramisu. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu.

We had a wonderful happy hour here just relaxing in the late afternoon. The food was delicious, and the apple pie was fabulous! Wonderful, friendly staff, lovely porch seating out of the sun, happy, light background music. It was perfect! Highly recommend!
