We were in Viareggio for the June 2nd long weekend, and had the pleasure of dining at La Barchina, enjoying freshly fried fish. A highly recommended place.

Quick and easy dinner along the Viareggio harbor. Really good fried food, crispy and not too greasy. The shrimp and calamari were superb, but the cod was even better!! The girls working there were kind and friendly, truly lovely.

A small boat where you can buy good-quality food at reasonable prices! Be careful, there's always a bit of a queue.

My favorite barchina in Viareggio. Fresh fish fried to order. Simple but excellent. To make up for the long waits, they also have a second barchina where you can find quicker-prepared and more popular dishes.
Perfect for a quick and tasty lunch before a stroll along the seafront.

We had lunch for two, with the "piattissimo" (calamari, shrimp, anchovies, and fried cod), a portion of chicken nuggets, and fries. I have to say, for just over €20, I can't think of anything better. It's a shame the seating wasn't very spacious, but we were in a campervan and had a great time anyway. If we ever come back, I'll definitely stop by again.
