28/12/2025: Ninni's is a guarantee. Every time we go to Lucca and stay for dinner, we go to Ninni's. I park nearby, and if you want to stroll, just cross the footbridge and you're right in the center. On the way back, you can stop at this cute, welcoming place. The service is impeccable, and the staff are smart, very kind, and helpful. The cecina is superb, both classic and with bacon or onion. Pizza exceeds expectations: different doughs, classic and more sophisticated toppings, something for every taste. Gourmet pizza...a real treat! I tried "la ficata"...truly "awesome." We'll definitely be back. The online reservation option is also excellent. Keep it up...

01/02/2026: First pizza I ever ate that I DISGUSTED, so much so that I threw away more than half of it.

14/01/2026: Some dear friends gave me a Smartbox gift box. Since this is the only restaurant in the area that offers it, I called once to make a reservation; as soon as they heard I had the box, they told me they had no room. After about a month, I tried again, but before checking with The Fork for available reservation slots (all free). I called, spoke with Mr. Matteo, finalized the reservation, and finally gave them the Smartbox number. At that point, they told me that the dinner in the box couldn't be used for the Saturday in question, a normal Saturday in mid-December. I stiffened, expressed my concern about the poor impression I'd made, especially knowing they had ample availability on The Fork (where they even offer a 20% discount), and invited Mr. Matteo to have the owner call me to clarify the situation. So far, no one has wanted to do so, and as I mentioned over the phone, I'm reporting my negative experience to them. Bottom line: Don't use promotional tools if you then make those customers feel unwelcome on certain evenings or second-rate.

02/01/2026: My partner, my husband, and our dog were looking for a restaurant where we could spend New Year's Eve, away from the hustle and bustle of loud music and the usual awful menus! This wonderful restaurant perfectly matched what we were looking for: the location, the excellent service, and the entire staff, even providing a bowl of water for our Trudy. Each dish was unique and truly magical. It's rare to have such a wonderful dinner, especially on New Year's Eve. The wine selection is excellent. I recommend it to everyone.

15/03/2026: We were there last night, a pizza, a quarter of wine, 6 crostini with raw ham, cheeses with jarred jams, and an inedible apple dessert, 34 euros 💶 to share

15/02/2026: This is my first time here! To call it idyllic is an understatement. The location is fantastic! An old mill beautifully renovated by the owners. Surrounded by a beautiful stream, it creates a fairytale atmosphere. The food! Spectacular, all locally sourced, from their farm. I had their own ham, aged for 40 months, as an appetizer, accompanied by excellent crostini and cheeses. The Lucchese tordelli were among the best I've ever tasted! For my second course, I had fried chicken, which I hadn't eaten this good since I was a child. The portions are way too large! All accompanied by an excellent bottle of wine from their well-stocked cellar. All for €40! A special mention goes to the owner, a young woman of extreme kindness and cordiality, who serves in the dining room. Thank you for the fantastic experience. We'll be back soon!

07/03/2026: Very friendly young server, everything was pleasant. The place was packed! The food had nothing to do with Italy. Terrible. The olive oil was good, the Prosecco a disaster!!!

06/03/2026: You wait a bit to be seated and eat. The menu is fine for a quick lunch, say, with bruschetta, salad, and sandwiches. The staff is friendly, but the prices are perhaps a little high.

14/02/2026: We called on Thursday to make a reservation for Saturday for seven people. No problem. They probably forgot that Saturday was Valentine's Day, and the restaurant was apparently reserved for couples only (which is fine, but should we say so?). Moral of the story: they pretended, not very convincingly, that they never received the reservation. We had to go elsewhere. Never again. Mistakes are possible, but not pantomime.

28/01/2026: Excellent place, after the bad news of its closure at the end of the year, the good news is that it's reopening with a truly talented chef from Casoli, apparently, along with the help of Rita and, I hope, the old staff, who are truly brilliant. It would have been a shame if it hadn't happened.

14/03/2026: To conclude our 30-plus-day campervan trip through Tuscany, we were looking for a special restaurant – and we definitely found a little gem. What an experience! Even the view from the outside was impressive and raised our expectations. We received a very warm welcome at reception and were shown to a very inviting table. The entire restaurant is decorated with great attention to detail, style, and beautiful fabrics and decorations. This prevents everything from feeling kitschy; instead, it's exceptionally tasteful and stylish. The menu focuses heavily on fish and seafood – which is precisely why we came here. It's only in Italian, and some dishes are quite unusual, so we occasionally used the translator on our phones. The staff was very helpful in this regard. The evening began in a unique way: A pitcher of dry ice, infused with a fragrance of mandarin, lemon, orange, and bergamot, was placed on a rotating plate. When water was added, it created an impressive reaction – intended, according to the staff, to help us relax and set the mood for the evening. The menu is heavily influenced by fish and seafood – which is exactly why we came here. The food we ordered was a feast for the eyes and tasted absolutely divine. Everything looked incredibly fresh and was artfully presented. The service was consistently professional and exceptionally charming. A perfect evening to end our trip. Highly recommended – reservations are absolutely essential, as all the tables were occupied during our visit.

11/03/2026: Friendly from the first to the last second. The menu was extensive, which we, as non-Italians, found a bit difficult to read quickly. No problem at all. We were helped! We were given as much time as we needed to peruse the menu thoroughly and decide what we wanted to eat. As in many good Italian restaurants, there was a wide selection of excellent wines. But even for us, who enjoy pairing several wines with a meal, there were half bottles from very good winemakers and some absolute highlights by the glass. The seafood and fish-focused cuisine was always perfectly prepared. The olive oil was superb. Wonderful music. Even if you don't particularly like Viareggio, you'll always find yourself wondering if there's a reason to return and eat at this restaurant again! Thank you for a lovely and successful evening.

09/02/2026: Greasy hands and mouth watering!! Nostromo is a trattoria in Viareggio where you can enjoy its signature dish: the succulent seafood carbonara! Excellent, they never miss a beat. Like any self-respecting trattoria, you'll feel right at home. I would recommend it to both residents and those on vacation enjoying the picturesque Tuscan setting. Highly recommended.

08/02/2026: Last night we went to Trattoria Nostromo in Viareggio with a group of friends and were truly delighted. The place is very simple, no-frills, but here, what counts is what's on the plate... and the food is truly excellent. We started with the light and tasty fried fish, then moved on to their famous seafood carbonara: simply spectacular! It was so good we decided to order a second course, because stopping would have been a shame. To finish, the pan-fried Cacciucco alla Viareggina: rich, flavorful, authentic, accompanied by that crispy bread perfect for dipping... mmm, so delicious! A casual place, a friendly atmosphere, and seafood cuisine done just right. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back! 🍝🐟🍷
