14/07/2026: one of the best restaurants i've ever been to. prices, food, and service, as well as athmosphere and location, all perfect. it's a bit far away from the main roads, but absolutely worth it. it's very meat based, so I wouldn't suggest it to vegetarians or vegans. if you're in the area, you have to go!

22/12/2025: The exterior appearance can be deceiving, but the interior is furnished in a rustic style. The exposed stone walls, a wood-burning fireplace in one room, a counter with a Pietra del Cardoso stone top, and a front panel clad in wood reclaimed from carefully arranged old windows, create a winning and pleasant atmosphere.
The service is quick, the staff is smiling, and even the owner is welcoming and happy to chat with customers. The pizzas are very large and thin, well-topped with quality ingredients, and the flavor is very good. Even the draft beer, crafted by a local brewery, is excellent (I tried the red one). The desserts are also good; I tried the pear and chocolate cake. The place doesn't have a lot of seating, so I recommend booking in advance to ensure you get a seat and enjoy an excellent pizza!
21/12/2025: Nice and charming place. Too bad they changed my review. Yes, it's nice and charming, the pizza is good, but they were rude when it came to paying. I paid a higher price for a pizza than I had ordered. It wasn't about the money, but about the honesty, even though I had pointed it out.

03/05/2026: Found it by chance, while we were in the area.
Rustic atmosphere in a small village.
We had two pizzas, very good.
Cooked to perfection.
Even the Spritz was excellent!
The staff is all kind and smiling. They make you feel at ease from the start. Our dog was pampered, which is a big deal for those of us who travel with furry friends.
I recommend it to anyone who wants to see a village away from the chaos and dine in silence with a fantastic view!

18/04/2026: We were so hungry after our hike and stopped here for a bite to eat. It was absolutely delicious, just like home cooking, only Italian. The service was so warm and welcoming – a perfect 10 out of 10.

03/06/2026: A strategic location for visiting the Garfagnana region, the hotel is clean and the rooms have everything you need, without the frills that could potentially drive up the prices. The restaurant/pizzeria is excellent, and its veranda offers a view of the peaks and the sound of the stream in the background. Highly recommended.

25/05/2026: A beautiful refuge with a wonderful atmosphere, young and friendly management, full of advice for hikers. And, at least for me (and I've visited several), it has the almost unique "sea view," which is certainly not a given from a mountain refuge.
27/04/2026: Gentlemen, never again, but then, I've been frequenting this refuge for years, I was reluctant to find out about this change in management. We ordered a platter of cured meats, platter!? A plate with 4 cured meats and olives, €14... lasagna, non-existent béchamel, non-existent ragù... €14 but can the food go through, or rather let's let it go through... but what about the behavior? At the next table who had booked at 1pm like us, at 1:40pm nothing had arrived. When the waitress, a lady with short hair who was trying to be nice, complained, she said these exact words: "Do you want to come to the kitchen? We're short of staff." If you take reservations and you know how many people you have, and there were really few!!! And despite this, you're not prepared, change jobs!!! OLD MANAGERS, where are you?????????

29/06/2026: Decent food, total lack of empathy from the owners, very expensive water. The only positive notes: relaxing outdoor setting, lack of phone signal and the very kind and friendly waitress.
12/06/2026: After a hike in the Monte Altissimo area, we stopped for lunch at Rifugio Le Giobe and were truly satisfied.
We started with a perfectly prepared giardiniera (fresh pickled vegetables) and polenta crostini with a truly excellent tomato and mushroom sauce, simple yet full of flavor. For our first course, we had tagliatelle with game, rich and well-seasoned, and for our second course, stewed venison, which was tender, flavorful, and cooked with great care. With drinks, a amaro (a bitter aftertaste), and even a portion of giardiniera to take away, we spent €88 for two. Considering the quality of the food, the portions, and the location of the refuge, the value for money was excellent.
You don't come here for the spectacular cuisine or to take photos for social media: you come to eat well, with local products, mountain recipes made with passion, and a genuine atmosphere that is becoming increasingly rare.
If you're passing through Monte Altissimo, it's definitely worth a stop. I'll gladly return.

14/11/2025: The restaurant enjoys a charming natural setting just steps from the lake. However, in my opinion, the interior, especially the terrace, could use a makeover. I also didn't find the food to my liking, as it was far too salty. We ordered mushroom fettuccine for four, and everyone at the table agreed. The staff was unwilling to replace the dishes, claiming they were incorrect without further explanation. Therefore, I can't say I had a good experience.
28/09/2025: The owner is a rude person who, without knowing us and only by phone after having paid for the overnight stay without a refund, sent my husband "fuck you" in exact words, screaming and saying to never contact him again. A real villain, I strongly advise against it! I WOULD REMOVE HIM FROM ALL SITES as well as REMOVE THEIR LICENSE. We are forced to put a star otherwise the review will not be published. Other than stars, STABLE
