There were six of us, including three small children. In short: phenomenal! Superb service with an exceptional host, who took the time to explain the menu and the seasonal offerings. Great food and even better Maremma beef. Even on our second visit, just the two of us, it was fantastic. Thank you!

One of my favorite places outside Lucca, in the hills. The view, both afternoon and evening, is fantastic. The service was friendly, nice, and attentive. We ate well, and the prices were average, slightly lower than in the city. Highly recommended. High-quality meat, various types and varieties. Mushrooms... 😍 Always good!

A very characteristic place with a splendid panoramic view, especially in the evening. The typical Lucca cuisine is excellent, and if you love meat and mushrooms, they are fantastic here!

The sweetest couple running the restaurant. Great atmosphere and really good food! We had the best carpaccio and tartar, complemented by a really good local red wine. Best food and service on our trip to Italy!

Having been underwhelmed by previous Tuscan meals, Batano restored our faith in Italian cuisine. Finally some flavour! Really delicious steak and pasta and the best tiramisu we’ve eaten so far this trip.

Da chef posso dire che non ho trovato alcun difetto in questo delizioso ristorante. Una scoperta fatta per caso alla ricerca di un posticino in cui cenare. Mio marito ed io, in arrivo da Piemonte non solo per piacere ma anche per lavoro, siamo rimasti più che soddisfatti nell' assaporare i salumi e la carne che offrivano nel menù. Personale gentile, ottimo servizio, prezzo totale corretto per ciò che abbiamo consumato. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente se mai capiteremo in questa zona e nel frattempo lo consiglio a tutti voi che leggete....

23/02/2026: We chose the maximum 9-course menu. I don't know if it was because there were only a few of us in the restaurant or if it should be counted differently, but we must have tasted about twenty items and left feeling full. Some were very good (bark, savory crème brûlée, salted crème caramel, artichoke, tortellini), some were more anonymous (the fish soups at the beginning), and some I personally didn't like. Specifically, some dishes (e.g., spaghetti with Versilian pesto) used helichrysum, which has a very distinctive flavor. And yesterday I discovered that I don't like helichrysum. In general, there are many dishes that lean toward the bitterness. My wife, who chose the gluten-free menu, had a spectacular bread. At the end, the chef came out and lingered for a very pleasant conversation. If you were spending €100 each, it would be highly recommended. We spent €340 for two with two glasses of regular sparkling wine. In my opinion it's too much
