14/08/2025: This was my first dinner at this restaurant, which is also a hotel. I was amazed by the attention to detail, the kindness of the staff, and the delicious dishes.
The property is surrounded by a beautiful lakeside pier and a park with a modern sculpture exhibition.
This place and this part of Lake Massaciuccoli are truly a discovery.
08/08/2025: This review refers to the restaurant, which I can only speak highly of. We booked a couple of nights in advance for a Saturday during the high summer season. We received excellent service and a delicious meal, both meat and fish. Luca's service was impeccable, and he listened to our requests. The price was reasonable for the quality. We'll definitely be back!

20/08/2025: A quiet restaurant with a variety of options at reasonable prices.
We tried the tasting menu, and the chef was incredibly willing to create vegetarian dishes specifically for one of our guests.
Even though we chose the traditional menu, I expected a little more originality given that the restaurant is listed in the Michelin guide.
No real surprises, but the quality and service were textbook.
I would perhaps have avoided the chocolate cake as a dessert, since it's available in any trattoria.

Poor food, terrible quality, a tasting menu that deserves to be returned. Poor-quality, poorly cooked fish.
Poor service, and rude and ignorant staff who even insulted and assaulted us.
The final gem: After paying and leaving, we were told our reservation was cancelled to avoid a review on The Fork. I'll post the photos here, judge for yourselves. The beauty!

Then we spent the afternoon on the beach... top-notch service with awnings, loungers, beach towels, pillows... private shower.
Wonderful saltwater pool.

19/07/2025: The Locanda offers typical Lucchese dishes, so I recommend it to anyone traveling and stopping in Lucca. Just outside the walls of Lucca, you can easily access the city center by car. Parking is easy in front of the restaurant. I would also recommend it to locals, though. The dishes are very carefully prepared with fresh, delicious ingredients.
I highly recommend it.
18/07/2025: Italian comfort food done right. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, the service the best I’ve had in Italy, and the food is outrageously good.
And if you don’t get the torta della nonna, you aren’t doing it right.
