13/10/2025: A group of six people from the province of Milan are spending a weekend in Tuscany to unplug from the daily grind. A sublime experience, with a quintessential Tuscan atmosphere and delicious traditional dishes. The owner is a real asset to the restaurant, always available to guests who want something a little more. It's a shame it's over 400 km from home, but if we ever get back, a stop is a must. A heartfelt thank you to the couple who run this place.

22/11/2025: Short business trip, everything was fantastic. Easy interaction with the staff via phone/WhatsApp to arrange check-in after reception closing time. Large, clean rooms. Beautiful views of the countryside. Generous breakfast. All at a very fair price. I'll definitely be back.

12/11/2025: Unfortunately, I must point out something not highlighted on Booking.com when we booked: use of the apartment's kitchen (a very nice three-room apartment on two floors) carries a surcharge of €50, indicated by a note left on the stove. Upon discovering this surcharge, which we deemed unjustified (since when do they charge for individual areas of the apartment? Never happened in all our years of traveling) and amounted to two-thirds of the night's cost, we called the apartment owner for clarification. He rudely replied that the information was only available in the English translation of the General Information, as we later discovered, and that "we were just trying." Upon rereading all the information available on the website, we confirm that neither the apartment description nor the amenities description nor the Italian section of the General Information mentions the surcharge for the kitchen, which, however, is described in detail as fully functional; the only mention of the surcharge is in the English translation, as noted above. We decided to go out for dinner and not use the service, even though we had already purchased the dinner ingredients at the resort. The next morning, when we complained at checkout, a woman who was probably also the resort owner, already aware of our complaint, added that the reason for the surcharge was the cost of sanitizing the kitchen and that it was Booking.com's fault, which doesn't allow full freedom in editing information if this aspect isn't clearly highlighted on the website. Strangely, however, all the information related to the spa, the restaurant, and other aspects of the resort was complete and had not been redacted. Finally, I should point out that this conversation took place while the owner was arranging documents around the room and was using informal (we asked her to use the formal "sir" with us), patronizing (even though none of us had asked her for life lessons), rude, and sarcastic tones ("Good, thanks, did you pay?", "Yes, okay, thanks for letting us know, you were kind, now come on, we have work to do"). It's a shame that such a beautiful place is managed by people who, in addition to lacking transparency when it comes to poorly reported and poorly justified surcharges, lack the basics of politeness and communication. For the sake of completeness, I'd like to emphasize that the rude behavior concerned only the two people mentioned above, not the two employees who behaved professionally and kindly at check-in and check-out.

20/10/2025: Spectacular pizza, eaten in a cinematic setting As the title suggests, I had an excellent pizza with friends one evening in early October at this historic pizzeria in Magliano, admiring old movie cameras and vintage film posters. In fact, I had no digestive issues afterward: four burps from the scu re gge and off we go. The wait staff was friendly and professional. Affordable prices Recommended

25/09/2025: We found this pizzeria by chance after two downtown locations passed us up because they were fully booked. I have to say, it wasn't a bad experience. It's a cute place with a movie-themed decor, complete with giant posters. The pizza is made with a good dough, cooked well, and made with quality ingredients. Even the arancini I had as an appetizer were decent. The staff was friendly and young, and the price was fair. If we ever come back to Magliano for pizza, we know where to go. I recommend it.

11/05/2025: I went to Giannino's with about ten friends and had an excellent experience! Despite the simple and unpretentious atmosphere, the food was delicious. Between Donatella's cooking and Giannino's service, you can be sure of an excellent, warm, and welcoming culinary experience. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely stop by. Osteria da Giannino warms the heart and makes the stomach happy!

03/10/2025: A small but welcoming restaurant on the Follonica seafront. The food is excellent, with particular attention paid to using local produce. The owner is friendly and precise in explaining the dishes.

30/10/2025: Since I go on holiday to Giglio many times and since I bring Giglio to Giglio the Gigliesi are not very friendly with tourists, I have to change my mind from Monticello Castello where the Castello Monticello hotel is located. From the owner Tommaso to all the staff I have to say that I spent some wonderful days. The hotel is located in a strategic point, has a breathtaking view, parking, the availability if you are without a car, they have a free shuttle service. What can I say? The Castello Monticello hotel has all the requirements for an unforgettable holiday.

18/10/2025: Very nice hotel and restaurant. Beautiful surroundings, functional and cozy common areas and my room was very functional. I have seen mentions that the room is small, but for my the room itself wasn't small at all: While not spacious it had enough space and also very useful furniture to lay out/stow things - I did tend to require quite some space to unpack my bicycle bags :) The bathroom was indeed very tight (wonder they could fit the bidet in there :) ), but who cares in a single room as long as everything works and is accessible (it is). Value for price was extremely good for me. Looks like they are adjusting price a lot based on demand (weekday and season), so that may vary but that only seems fair. The included breakfast is amazing, with proper cafe. And the staff is all around helpful and friendly. The restaurant for dinner is also very good, similar prices as other restaurants on the island - quality was well worth the price.
