02/11/2025: Went for breakfast here. Very cosy atmosphere. Got the eggs, toast and coffee. Our host was super friendly and took great care of us and the coffee was perfection. Nice and neat central Florence. Would recommend.

02/11/2025: My girlfriend and I had breakfast/coffee here, the lady that served us (wish I knew her name) was absolutely superb and so welcoming, she could tell we were tourists and helped us out so much and catered to us from the start, lovely little spot to have food and start your day in Florence

08/10/2025: My wife and I were on our honeymoon. We snuck into the pasta making class last second. It was truly fantastic from start to finish. Our "Nonna", Narghess, was amazing. From the moment I awkwardly stumbled down into to the restaurant to ask if it was too early to come in to the last bite of dessert and goodbye. She commanded the room with wisdom and compassion. We learned some history of Florence, the building we were in and its relation to the Renaissance as we prepared tiramisou, ravioli, and fettuccine. An unforgettable experience. 100%. Narghess was incredibly kind and supportive as we muscled our way through the itinerary. Fun, informative, and (most of all) tasty. We would highly recommend this activity for anyone. The restaurant itself has great atmosphere, history, and even better chefs!! We're from Maine in the US, but we met couples from Australia, Canada, and the Netherlands in the same class and by the end of the night we all felt like family. Wish I was going back tomorrow night <3

30/09/2025: What a sandwich! One of the best in the world. Check that, the absolute best! I was here over a year ago but sometimes I still wake up thinking about the crunchy bread and soft filling inside. If you’re ever in Florence make sure you buy a hotel room without the breakfast option and instead get all your breakfasts at this place. And if it’s a rainy Florence morning while you’re waiting to pick up your rental car from Sicily by Car, take the opportunity to sample 2 slices of heaven at Panifico Palatresi. God bless the baker, the coffee was also acceptable.

01/11/2025: Aside from the 40-minute delay in home delivery (we ordered at opening time, an hour early), the pizzas arrived fairly bare. We were surprised to have to pay €9 for an eggplant pizza that literally had three tiny pieces of eggplant. It's a shame, because the dough and ingredients were good and could have won over a customer, but if I'm paying for a pizza with toppings, I'd expect them to be there... and they should at least apologize for the delay.

09/08/2025: A neighborhood ice cream shop, a regular customer for a few years since it opened. The owner and master gelato maker are top-notch. All the flavors are excellent, from the classics to the fruity ones and sorbets. An "old-school" ice cream shop; don't expect unusual flavors or gourmet combinations, but high quality and respect for tradition. Go to La Veneta and you won't regret it!

21/08/2025: A perfect little pit stop on your Italian road trip. The staff were amazing and accommodating given the kitchen closes at 3 and we ordered at 2:55pm. The food was good. The actual square itself lacks some people lustre. Other than that, it’s worth the stop.

19/11/2025: Al Solito Posto was… okay. We grabbed a takeaway pizza to bring back to our Airbnb. The staff was friendly and the pizza itself was decent — nothing life-changing, but perfectly serviceable. The downside? We were overcharged, and of course I didn’t realize it until it was too late. So don’t be like me: double-check not just the printed receipt, but also the amount typed into the card machine before you tap. Fine for a quick bite. Good morning, and thank you for reaching out. You’re absolutely correct that your prices are set and listed on the menu. My concern wasn’t with the menu pricing but with the amount that ended up being charged on my credit card. I believe the pizza I ordered was around €14. I paid with a card that doesn’t have foreign transaction fees, and I paid in euros, so based on the exchange rate that day, the charge should have been roughly $16.50 USD. When I reviewed my credit card statement after returning home, the amount charged was $26.01 USD — noticeably higher than expected. In most restaurants we visited during our trip, the process was the same: the server enters the total into the register, provides the printed receipt, and then manually keys that same amount into the card terminal for the guest to tap. Because the amount has to be typed in, there’s always the possibility of a simple miskey — for example, entering 26 instead of 16. In many places, the staff would show me the keyed amount before I tapped, but this trip that didn’t always happen. We ate at your restaurant fairly early in our travels, and I didn’t yet realize I needed to double-check the number on the terminal before tapping. That was my mistake, and it’s something I started doing consistently for the rest of our trip. I want to be clear: I’m not suggesting this was intentional. It very well could have been an honest keying error. My note in the review was simply meant to help other travelers stay aware, as the manual-entry system leaves room for small mistakes.
