15/06/2025: I have been to this restaurant several times, one of which was during the Japanese event (as far as I understand they often offer them). I must say excellent cuisine. Creative dishes and contaminations at times Asian but with feet firmly planted in the territory and tradition. Excellent raw materials. Old cow steak to lick your lips! Quiet place and breathtaking view. Impeccable service, Giulietta in the dining room really kind and prepared! I highly recommend!

25/06/2025: Taverna in the square in Cortona, with a very familiar atmosphere, like a real tavern. What can I say, I liked everything, the atmosphere, the food and the wine. Everything was really exceptional, a place where you can relax without spending too much despite its central location.

16/06/2025: We had a truly wonderful meal here, the food was sublime, high end cooking, packed full of flavour and innovative in its combinations, I had the tongue starter and guinea fowl Secondi and would highly recommend both. Service was impeccable on what was a busy weekend evening, charming, helpful and knowledgeable when answering our various questions, especially as to wine choices. A not so hidden gem which I shall be recommending to anyone that will listen. A great night out.

25/05/2025: High quality food cooked very well. If you want something simple and good this is the right place. Very good cutting board, very good wine and beers, light and tasty pizzas. The atmosphere recalls the name of the place, precisely behind the scenes. Downstairs there is a real cellar to see and also drink a glass of wine The Americano very good.

08/06/2025: Unbelievable venue, attended a wedding and it was absolutely stunning. Superb service from David who ensured everything went off without a hitch. The rooms are gorgeous, very romantic spot at the foot of Cortona. 10/10.

09/05/2025: We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The room was beautiful and very clean. They even had a hamam feature in the shower. The property is also stunning and cortona is a lovely town. Highly recommend if you’re planning a trip to Tuscany!

30/06/2025: Just, to die for. What a meal! The Tagliolini with Local Truffle? OMG! Aurora’s service was warm, crisp & perfection. My daughter eats vegan & said it was outstanding! Well done!

29/06/2025: After being greeted by three different waitstaff and hosts, who were increasingly friendly and engaged, we settled in for a spectacular lunch. I had the carbonara from the traditional menu and it was, the greatest pasta dish I have ever had. Cooked perfectly with more than expected punch from the egg. My associate opted for the Penne all’ Amatriciana and considered it the best dish, thusfar, on our sojourn thru Tuscany. I cannot recommend this stop enough, bravo Essenza.

05/05/2025: I have eaten in this restaurant several times, the menu is seasonal and is mainly made with local herbs and I have always found it very good. Fixed menu served plate by plate, but I never left the table without having to say enough, it's hard to get to the end. Everything was excellent.
