20/04/2026: Yesterday, we went to lunch at Mater for the first time. As soon as you enter, you find yourself in a beautiful, light-filled space with a stunning view of the mountains of the Casentino forests. A restaurant with many material references to the forest. The long glass window with the open kitchen is stunning, where you can watch chef Filippo and his team bustle about. The tables are well-spaced to ensure excellent privacy. You're then pleasantly welcomed by Marta, who manages the dining room with what I'd call excellent service. You can tell she loves her job and is truly professional. I can definitely say that Marta truly adds value to this Michelin-starred restaurant. You sit at the tables and are pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail in the table settings, with truly refined, sometimes even vintage, objects. The dining room staff is very welcoming, kind, but not intrusive. The cuisine is highly refined while maintaining the local flavours, with produce from the garden you can see outside on the terrace. Marta's particular attention to detail in preparing highly sophisticated cocktails and liqueurs (like absinthe) at the end of the meal is also very pleasing. 15/11/2025: A bar with homemade pastries, phenomenal!! There was a wide selection of desserts; we tried the torta della nonna, which is spectacular (it melts in your mouth) and the almond and caramel tart. Everything was delicious! Inside, they also sell products made by the Camaldolese monks (mostly liqueurs and sweets). Next door, there's also a shop selling traditional cured meats and cheeses.

07/05/2026: We stopped for lunch during a motorcycle ride. My sister, a seasoned "shoe-walker," recommended it to me. She was absolutely right: excellent location, helpful and friendly staff, truly excellent dishes, and a relaxed, family atmosphere. I tried the porcini mushrooms with tagliatelle and the fried ones. Wow! I was surprised by the truly low prices compared to back home. Excellent experience.

06/05/2026: We stayed at this hotel during a group trek and had a wonderful time. The location is excellent for various excursions, the outdoor space is pleasant, the rooms are extremely clean, the food is excellent, and the service is friendly and attentive, always with a smile. The owners and staff are kind, attentive, and welcoming. We will definitely return in the fall, both to walk among the beautiful autumn colors of the woods and to enjoy the freshly picked mushrooms.

06/04/2026: Stayed on Easter Eve at the campsite in a wooden house, clean, welcoming, equipped with a stove (which was useful, since it was still cold) wool blankets, had dinner at the Baroni inn, varied menu, value for money in line with the location

15/04/2026: We spent three magical nights at I Tre Baroni, taking advantage of the three-night package that included a room with a spa, a private massage, a private excursion, and a tasting dinner at the Mater restaurant (a truly special place!). What can I say? From the very beginning, Gessica was incredibly kind and available to answer all our questions and clarify any doubts, even before our stay, personalizing our experience. When we arrived, we immediately felt welcomed. The room was gorgeous, very spacious, with a spectacular view of the Casentinesi Forests National Park. The room was spotless, with a hot tub and sauna. The private excursion with Stefano was a wonderful experience: his guide was invaluable in helping us fully appreciate the wonders of the park! The dinners at the restaurant were also highly recommended: the atmosphere is meticulously maintained and welcoming, the service impeccable, and you have the opportunity to sample the local flavors, expertly cooked and served. 13/04/2026: An unacceptable experience. I was looking for the silence of Casentino, but I found chaos. It all started with a lack of transparency: I booked a suite with a sauna, but upon check-in, they gave me a different room without telling me, hoping I wouldn't notice. Only after I protested was I granted a change; there's no point in calling it an upgrade, since the room offered lacked the booked amenities and was aesthetically inferior. The rest was a crescendo of poor service: - Technical: The suite shower was unusable due to lack of pressure. - Acoustic: A sleepless night due to the roar of the whirlpool tubs below (until midnight). I didn't call again just to avoid waking my partner, who, after various mix-ups, had only managed to sleep thanks to earplugs. - Construction site: Awake at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, hammering on the roof and weaving between construction trucks to get to breakfast. Work was kept quiet until arrival despite a recent reservation (24 hours in advance). The 50% discount was obtained only after a firm discussion. The initial disrespect and the construction-like environment are incompatible with a high-end hotel. Not recommended.

28/04/2026: We came back with our kids, but it wasn't good! The porcini mushrooms, the burger meat, and especially the sausage, were no good!!! The fried porcini mushrooms were "wet," the burger meat didn't taste good, and the sausage tasted like hot dogs! Maybe it's the start of the season, maybe there's a new team, maybe you've changed suppliers... This is just to let you know that we weren't satisfied, and so that it can help you improve and get back to the high standards you've accustomed us to. We'll definitely be back! Good luck!

06/04/2026: The famous schiacciata was supposed to be hot, but it was actually cold. The pork ham was good, though a little thin. They asked for cheese, but it had been sliced ​​for who knows how long—it was absolutely disgusting. Next time, I'll try the one next door.
