29/07/2025: The food is very good, the service is efficient: the waiters are polite, respectful, active and professional. However, for the bistecca alla fiorentina, don't forget to ask for it cooked rare - the meat literally melts in your mouth!

28/07/2025: It was a phenomenal experience being a guest here. The service was sublime and the food was, as they say here, "bellisimo." I would definitely come back again. The mussels and pizzas are highly recommended. The pasta was also surprisingly delicious. Come and see for yourself.

19/07/2025: Massimo Macelleria Francini con Cucina is a carnivore’s paradise. Massimo exudes a warmth that immediately makes you feel welcome and at home. We walked in without a reservation on a Friday night, and he greeted us with genuine hospitality. We asked him to surprise us with the menu, and what followed was an epicurean delight. The steak was, without question, the best I’ve had in this region — perfectly grilled, richly flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable. The tartare was equally outstanding. Massimo also paired a bottle of Chianti that complemented the steak beautifully. I jokingly told him that anyone who can grill like that has a spot in heaven. This restaurant is a true carnivore’s delight. Every detail shows the love and mastery behind the food. I highly recommend it and will definitely return one day. Thank you, Massimo, for a truly special experience.

07/08/2025: The place is a bit small, seating for about forty people at most. And unfortunately, no air conditioning. But otherwise, everything was great. A classic Florentine osteria, run by a friendly host who goes out of his way to please you and make you feel comfortable. The dishes are excellent; we had roast beef and some pasta dishes, and everything was to our liking. The prices are fair, in proportion to the quality. The quantities are good. Well done... just a curiosity... but who's the deaf guy? Because the host could hear us perfectly well...

08/08/2025: We had the truffle ravioli with artichoke filling and were absolutely thrilled. The location is truly beautiful; we sat outside and received excellent service. It was always quick, there was always a server nearby, and everyone was very friendly. We would definitely come back.

06/08/2025: We went with my family to dinner (my son, my husband and I). The place is nice but the staff does not know how to serve people who do not speak Italian. It took them a long time to serve us and then also to charge us, and the food was quite scarce, the meat was of good quality but the side dishes were very poor.

06/08/2025: One of the best pastry shops in Prato. They serve everything from breakfast to lunch and aperitifs, without compromising on quality. Inside, you'll find numerous photos dedicated to one of the most famous actors in Italy and, after the film that gave the shop its name, in the world... Oscar-winning Roberto Benigni!

02/08/2025: We often come here for breakfast; the pastries are good and just the right size. The play area is great for kids! We had refreshments there: sandwiches, pizzas, and a selection of savory pastries, all delicious; everyone was satisfied. The cake, besides being delicious, was also beautiful. Excellent value. If I may offer one piece of advice: the aperitif drinks could be improved. Otherwise, I approve!

The raw fish dish was very disappointing; the oyster and scampi were flavorless, and the scampi were not peeled. €35 for a very meager dish. Good pizza. Courteous staff. The hand dryer in the bathroom doesn't work, and there was no paper towel. High final bill. Awful asking for a tip at the cashier while paying. **Update after 3 days** They invited me to respond on Facebook to find out what went wrong. I left a polite and constructive response. They decided, being clearly mistaken on many fronts, to first delete my comment, then block me to prevent the review I left on social media from being seen. They only leave positive ones to attract those who haven't been there before. I hope this review on Google will help future customers make a wise choice about where to go. ***REPLY TO THE CAPTAIN*** Good morning, I'm not being mean in any way. I expressed a polite, respectful, and constructive opinion on Facebook after visiting your restaurant. You're incapable of accepting a less-than-positive review, but that's your problem, not mine. I definitely wasn't just talking about the price; I specifically said that the quality wasn't bad, while the presentation of the food was, unfortunately, poorly done. I also spoke well of the dining room staff, for they were kind, unlike you, who writes insults and puts words in my mouth that I've never said, since I haven't called anyone a scammer or a thief. You're talking about pockets, mine in this case... but I'll tell you, without offense, that I chose your restaurant to take my child to a less formal place, therefore a bit "lowbrow," as they say. She shot herself in the foot by thinking she was being clever by deleting a comment—I repeat, polite and constructive—without offending anyone, as she did. 10/08/2025: A great experience. The setting is peaceful, in a square, with plenty of people walking by, just enough to liven things up. The welcome and service were very friendly despite our language difficulties. But above all, the food...truly quality. For me, the porcini mushroom risotto and beef cheek were amazing!!! A wonderful place.

10/08/2025: Recommended by a Pisan friend, we discovered this very quaint part of the city center. The atmosphere is pleasant, the walls decorated with contemporary paintings, and the dishes are traditional. The staff was so kind that, to please my daughter, they even went out to buy her the fruit juice she'd requested. Everything else was excellent, from the appetizers to the house wine: risotto with porcini mushrooms, truffle, and guanciale, tagliatelle with wild boar ragù, rabbit, and beef... basically, we tried a little bit of everything. I'd definitely go back!

09/07/2025: It's been a while since we've been back to Gargotta, and I think it's changed management. In any case, we ate very well. Excellent steak, excellent tartare, even fried flowers, and amazing desserts. The appetizer platter was perhaps a bit ordinary, and they could use a makeover. Excellent selection of wines and Prosecco. The terrace is perfect for summer evenings, with the background music of frogs that reminds us of the countryside. Discreet and informal service.

08/07/2025: Trattoria La Gargotta is a superb restaurant. I went there for dinner with four friends. We ate everything, a classic Tuscan/Florentine menu: classic Tuscan appetizer, first course (tagliolini with truffle), second course (grilled rosticciana), with side dishes (sautéed spinach and baked potatoes), and coffee. Everything was VERY GOOD. From start to finish. The service was a bit awkward; they confused the bottle we ordered with a more expensive one. The owner, having already opened it for us, apologized and offered it to us at the same price as the one we ordered. Truly very kind. (Not everyone would do that these days.) The restaurant is located in the Florentine hills, just outside the city, with a splendid terrace overlooking the city, and a very beautiful and characteristic interior. I highly recommend coming for dinner.
