My friend Mirko and I sometimes go back to Pizza Bomba to get the pizzoni with multiple toppings on top (never more than 3). I have both positive and negative comments. Until this month, October 2025, the pizzone with speck and scamorza + tuna and onion + boscaiola cheese cost €19. Now, the same pizzone costs €21... Not to be stingy, because the pizza is definitely worth the money, but it loses some credibility/trust if they change prices so randomly. It was always sliced ​​and always had the same flavors.

However, I find €80 per kilo for the catch of the day to be exorbitant when it's mistakenly served with its tag still on (including a large hooked fish on its head with a description in Greek and English indicating that it's a Greek farmed product). When I ordered the catch of the day, the waiter confirmed that he had 800 grams of sea bream and asked if that would be okay, which I agreed. I'm sorry, but we all know the cost of Greek fish. I want to believe the chef's version of events, which tells me that they prefer Greek products from the simpler supply chain on the island to local ones. But even if it's good quality, I don't think it costs €80 per kilo. The chef was understanding and gave me an €8 discount, making this dish cost €52 instead of €60. To avoid misunderstandings when the price per kg/100g is indicated, I would recommend also indicating the origin of the raw material, for the sake of fairness towards the customer.

30/10/2025: Truly Exceptional – Warm People, Beautiful Setting, and the Best Lasagna I’ve Ever Had We had an absolutely wonderful meal at Ristorante Etruria in Volterra. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and kindness. They immediately brought out a bowl of water for our French bulldog, Luigi, and treated him as if he were their own. It set the tone for what turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had in Italy. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful inside – classic Tuscan charm with elegant stone arches, warm lighting, and tasteful décor that feels both refined and welcoming. You can tell it’s a place that takes pride in its history and hospitality. I ordered the lasagna, and it was simply perfect — rich, delicate layers, full of flavor, and perfectly balanced. Honestly, it was as good as the best I’ve ever had anywhere in my life. My wife had the tagliatelle al ragù, and it was every bit a 10 out of 10 — silky fresh pasta, a sauce bursting with depth and authenticity. The service was exceptional throughout — attentive without being intrusive, and filled with genuine smiles. What made it even more special was that the owner personally followed us out as we were leaving to thank us after we told him how much we loved the meal. That kind of heartfelt appreciation is rare and unforgettable. Everything — from the food and wine to the atmosphere and hospitality — was pure Tuscany at its finest. If you find yourself in Volterra, do yourself a favor and make this your meal stop. You’ll leave full, happy, and feeling like family.

15/10/2025: Really lovely, traditional livorno food. You can tell its good homemade food and they are passionate about their livornese food. We had quite a bit of different dishes but standouts were the mussel spagetti, the stuffed mussels, the homemade macaroni and the livornese cod was amaaaazing. Highly recommend

30/09/2025: As we ambled along Via Grande in Livorno, Italy—browsing a blocks-long pop up market lining both sides of the street—we stopped in Pasticceria Caffe Miro. What a treat! Very “famiglia” feel. We had their homemade pastries with a couple decaf cappuccinos (“due cappuccini decaffeinati”). We are coming back to Livorno in about a week. This place is on our list for a revisit! See the photo.

21/09/2025: This is my first time trying this place. The food is good, not the best, but as a pastry shop we are average. The cappuccino is good, but unfortunately, while I was eating, they were discussing Chinese food with customers in a "disrespectful" way, and the bartenders knew I was already there eating, with no respect towards me. I will never go back.
