27/09/2025: A small restaurant just off the main nightlife hub, in the Convitto Palmieri area. The fried calzones are very large and delicious. The wait is reasonable, considering they're fried fresh. In addition to the classic calzone, you can also choose from a variety of fillings and dough. There are tables outside, without service, for a bite to eat and a drink. Prices are higher, but justified by the size, than the traditional calzone found everywhere else.

14/10/2025: Osteria Sant’Angelo – Gallipoli, Italy What a wonderful find! Tucked in the narrow streets of Gallipoli’s old town, Osteria Sant’Angelo turned out to be one of the best meals of my trip. The setting is charming — stone walls, soft lighting, and that unmistakable southern Italian warmth that makes you feel instantly at home. I started with a seafood appetizer that was as fresh as it gets, followed by homemade pasta that tasted like it came straight from a family kitchen. Everything was simple, honest, and full of flavor — exactly what good Italian cooking should be. The staff were fantastic: friendly, attentive, and genuinely proud of what they serve. They recommended a local white wine that paired perfectly with the meal. Dessert — a classic tiramisù — was the perfect finish. If you’re in Gallipoli and want a true taste of Puglia, don’t miss this place. Osteria Sant’Angelo isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience that captures the heart of Italy: good food, good wine, and good people.

Excellent breakfast with all dairy products from the family business and sweets from Apulian patisserie. Very convenient location to reach the most beautiful beaches of Salento!! Gallipoli is close by and can be reached with the bicycles made available...

28/09/2025: This is an exceptional place! If you are looking for local cafe with nonna in the kitchen, food that was selected with great eye for quality and brought with love - this is the place! It has the warmth of a home, services that is very welcoming, great prices, and incredible and delicious food!

15/09/2025: Small neighborhood restaurant, where locals gather with friends or family. A simple place but with a warm atmosphere. The woman who greeted me was very kind; she found me a seat outside even though it was full, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, I had to wait over 50 minutes for my main course, which was the daily special on the blackboard... It ruined my appetite a bit because after a full day of exploring the city, I just wanted to eat and go home to bed not too late. So, I didn't really enjoy my chicken and chicory dish, which was a bit greasy; the vegetables were fresh. However, the pizzas looked very good.

08/10/2025: We had lunch at this restaurant during a visit to Lecce. The beef burger was super good, the orecchiette with tomato sauce and delicious meatballs were delicious, the octopus with a soft and tasty sauce was tender, and the sausages were excellent. The waiter was kind and professional.
