02/10/2025: No frills tasty food for a fair price with good service in a beautiful location. I couldn’t decide on a dish and the man behind the counter let me taste a few first. Clearly some locals/regulars eating there as well. As a tourist it’s exactly the type of place you want to find amongst a sea of overpriced mediocre restaurants!

The staff is special: kind, attentive, and always available, capable of making guests feel at home. And then the host, with his warmth and attentiveness, manages to make the experience not just a dinner, but an evening to remember. The quality-price ratio is also excellent. This trattoria exudes passion and love for cooking. Highly recommended for those looking for an authentic place, far from the usual tourist spots, where they can feel truly pampered.

30/09/2025: In the heart of Carignano, a tranquil oasis just steps from the town center, lies the welcoming trattoria "Da Genio," where you can enjoy truly excellent traditional Genoese dishes. The anchovies stuffed with fried panissa, the ravioli with toccu sauce, and finally the delicious artisanal sacripantina are truly delicious. The service is friendly and welcoming, and the prices are reasonable. We'll be back soon to try their other specialties.

08/09/2025: I advise restaurateurs to update their opening and closing hours. And to update their holidays. We looked for this place, walked a lot, and when we arrived, we found them closed for holidays. It's a shame we'd known this beforehand, we wouldn't have driven all those miles.

22/08/2025: -in a very nice neighborhood in the evening -terrace -warm welcome, super efficient service -exquisite meat and dishes 🤩: beef tartare with a knife, pesto steak, zucchini steak, crispy potatoes, assortment of 3 well-aged cheeses -everything was 👍👍👍

01/10/2025: They seated us even though we didn't have a reservation (after a wait of about 20 minutes). The space is large, the waiter (Mirko, I seem to remember) was very helpful, kind, and approachable. The dishes were simple but good, and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely go back! I recommend making a reservation!

22/09/2025: There are no words to describe how delicious the focaccia is from this bakery! I usually order trays of focaccia from Milan before I even leave to make sure I have it when I arrive 🤭! Your focaccia is so good! 🔝👏🏻🙏 The wait depends a lot on the day and time. Obviously, in the summer, there's a longer wait on Saturdays, but it's worth it!

06/10/2025: Visiting the Rolli palaces is very interesting. Not all of these palaces have preserved their interiors, but the Red Palace is the richest in this regard, boasting high-quality works of art, numerous frescoes, and authentic interior furnishings. The White Palace also has paintings by Rubens, for example, while the Tursi Palace boasts a statue by Canova and violins once played by Poganini. The tour includes a visit to the courtyard between the palaces. I really wanted to see the standard of living of the Genoese nobility, and a visit to this museum gives a complete picture. They also host temporary exhibitions. In short, it's the whole package.

24/09/2025: Palazzo Rosso is part of a trio of palaces, along with Palazzo Bianco and Palazzo Doria-Tursi, that can be visited as part of the Musei di Strada Nuova. A combined admission ticket to the Musei di Strada Nuova costs 9 euros. There was no long line at the ticket office. I recommend leaving this castle to the very end. It is one of the best-preserved examples of Genoese Baroque architecture and one of the palaces listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the Palazzi dei Rolli system. Built between 1671 and 1677 for the Brignole-Sale family, one of the wealthiest and most influential families in Genoa, it owes its name to the red façade, characteristic of this building. In 1874, Maria Brignole-Sale, Duchess of Galliera, donated the palace and its collections to the city, thus initiating the establishment of a public museum. The façade is in the late Baroque style, distinguished by its decorative details and intense color. The interiors are richly decorated with frescoes and stuccos, including those by Gregorio De Ferrari and Domenico Pioli. The palace retains the layout of a typical Genoese aristocratic residence, with stately halls and private apartments. The collection is one of the most valuable paintings in Genoa, encompassing works by Italian, Flemish, Spanish, and French masters. The only thing the palace staff should have paid attention to is the state of the restrooms. I'm horrified to conclude that dingy visitor bathrooms, without a toilet seat and with a broken cistern, are a shameful standard in Italy. Shameful!!!

09/09/2025: I recommend the focaccias, they're so good that just thinking about them makes me wish I were there again right now. You can't miss trying them. All the dishes are generally very good, typical Ligurian dishes made by them.
