12/06/2025: I went for the first time today to have an excellent coffee standing at the counter in this small and welcoming café located inside the Genova Principe train station with tables inside and also outside with a view of the station. I have been frequenting several other places in Mentelocale for years every day such as in Via Garibaldi and in Via Balbi and I have always had a great time. In this café you can have breakfast and also lunch with a wide selection of sweet and savory dishes. The staff as always in all the other places in Mentelocale are welcoming, smiling, competent, friendly and helpful and they only serve you at the table at lunch while for coffee, toasts and other drinks you order, pay and then collect your order and good prices!! 29/06/2025: We stopped by for a Sunday lunch. We had a very good pasta with pesto and tagliolini allo scoglio (always very good and with a large portion) 10 points only for the lady who served us, super helpful and friendly!! Adequate price

16/06/2025: I can only recommend Cantina Reggiana, especially the Trenette agli Scampi! Excellent quality in everything, from the Chardonnay wine, to the Trenette, and Spaghetti allo Scoglio, it was all delicious!! I would definitely go back

02/05/2025: We stopped for lunch today 02.05 after a tour along the seafront of Cogoleto. We weren't aware of the place, it's located a little further away from the walk... But what can I say! The restaurant was recently renovated, the light colors bring a lot of light and then Mr. Andrea, very nice. Excellent service, Mrs. Gabriella as well as a cook prepares sublime dishes. The fresh pasta first courses are very abundant, so much so that even with one first course you are full! After the pasta we also tried the mixed fry which was super successful. Despite the generous portions, they are still light as well as good and tasty. The dessert, excellent! Atmosphere with relaxing music in the background and the bill, compared to the quality and quantity of the food, is perfect.

05/06/2025: Finally, a meal that surprised us! Local flavors of Genoa, with its own time and flavors. The Genovese pesto is unbeatable here, very good. The experience of visiting the Da Gênio trattoria is well worth it, a historic place with good cuisine, local food, as it should be!

05/06/2025: The best Genoese ice cream ever. I remember, when I was a girl, it was in via XX settembre, I loved it. Then, after many years, I happily found it again in Piazza Paolo da Novi. The ice cream is the real ice cream, which has a full and balanced flavor in all flavors. An ice cream that is not excessively sugary, which is tasty and light for a super snack. In the panorama of Genoese ice cream shops, for me it remains an excellence. Without taking anything away from others, it remains my favorite ice cream shop. I often stop there to enjoy ice cream after work

05/06/2025: The restaurant is in a very quiet and relaxing area, the service is perfect (fast, precise, courteous). The food? What can I say?!!! I had two plates of ravioli with ragù and I can't wait to go back. Highly recommended

07/06/2025: I have always been fascinated by the place: I must say that it did not disappoint expectations, very intimate and quiet place, impeccable service; the girls are really friendly. As for the food you can feel the quality of the products used, everything was more than appreciated, special desserts. The quality-price ratio is excellent.

28/05/2025: If I could give more stars I would have! Over the top food!! Really compliments to the kitchen staff. The girls in the dining room are really competent and very helpful.. The location, however, in my personal taste, reminds you of a typical Tuscan tavern, well-kept with exposed brick, wines on display.. vote? Ten!! As good foreigners we hope to return soon!

09/06/2025: Yesterday Sunday lunch, very kind staff, we were asked if we preferred in the garden or inside ... started as an appetizer with three cheese focaccias ... the cod fritters were amazing ... and the mandrilli with pesto delicious ... continued with mixed fried food ... a little high price for the desserts ... and bitters and coffee ... normal price ... thanks

01/06/2025: First time I go and I was very happy. The place is wonderful. Absolute tranquility. Amazing menu. I highly recommend the ravioli al tocco and the mixed fry. In any case, a place to definitely return to. Compliments to the chef and all the staff.

30/06/2025: For me super! Very "easy" place with table service only for drinks. You order food directly from the chefs and pick it up as soon as it's ready, I liked it a lot. The fried fish and sardines were exquisite.

27/06/2025: It's been a while since I've eaten such a good fritto misto and for so little money (11€) If you don't mind the fact that you have to queue to order like at McDonald's, but here there's not an underpaid girl with a pissed off look who serves you, but a nice and smiling Genoese. Afterwards you sit where there's room, here too you don't have to be fussy because the seats are in 2 nearby places and the outdoor terrace. Overall and paying attention to how you eat it's better than many expensive restaurants on the Ligurian Riviera. If you come to Genoa, stop by.

31/05/2025: The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Despite not having a reservation, we got a table quickly. The pizza is excellent and generously topping. Highly recommended. Thank you for this wonderful vacation experience. :)

30/03/2025: Nice place, excellent food, but the meanness of a waitress and the inattentive service (if while I'm eating I ask for another coke it's because I'm thirsty but it arrives when I've finished, if you ask for water and coffee they should be brought shortly after and not in installments and late), made us understand that it's "la trattoria spuncia cu" as they say in Genoa...

30/06/2025: We originally booked a family room at the Hotel Continental. My wife booked here because she liked the decor (fish themed). We were informed when we tried to check in that we were being moved to the Savoia. I asked if we could stay at the Continental and was informed it would have to be approved by a manager, which at the time, after traveling all morning with the family, seemed like a hassle. The room at the Savoy had a pull out bed which was too short for my son and uncomfortable for both my son and daughter to share. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant on the 7th floor and had a bad experience. First off, the head waiter was rude and very short with us because we hadn't made a reservation despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty. He seated us inside, although there were tables on the patio that were unoccupied for the entire duration of our time there. We really didn't mind sitting inside but if he wanted to, he could have easily moved us to the patio. Then, my wife and I both ordered a glass of local ligurian red wine and when I requested a second glass, the waitress (who seemed genuinely fearful of the head waiter) brought a different, already opened, bottle to our table. She poured me a glass, and from simply smelling it, I could tell the wine was bad. It tastes like vinegar . I told her the wine was bad, and asked for a different glass, preferably the same ligurian wine I had ordered earlier and she simple said no and took the glass away. I was still charged for the glass. One good experience was at the upstairs bar, which is why I have given a 3 star review instead of a 2 star review. The bartender was great and we had a good experience there earlier in the day. Overall, this was not a good experience and I would not return.
