Then came the pasta… First, a cacio e pepe that was silky, peppery perfection — no fuss, just flavour done right. Then, a carbonara that could convert even the most stubborn skeptics. Rich, comforting, and authentically Roman. The owner is an absolute standout — welcoming, funny, and clearly takes immense pride in every dish. Al19 isn’t just a meal — it’s a Roman experience. One I’d go back for in a heartbeat.

06/06/2025: Very cozy place, nice staff, very tasty food, I got to this restaurant by chance because there was no room in the neighboring ones, in the pictures in the reviews it seems that the portions are quite small but in fact the portions are standard, very tasty food. I ordered grilled vegetables, beef with mushrooms (I want to note that the mushrooms are not champignons as everywhere standard, the mushrooms look like honey mushrooms) very tasty, and ordered a Spritz drink. The restaurant itself has a large selection of wines and alcoholic drinks, not expensive and very tasty. I recommend

11/03/2025: Andati per un aperitivo visto che c erano tavoli fuori apparecchiati e altri non, entriamo a chiedere se potevamo fare un aperitivo e ci rispondono a malo modo che non fanno servizio all’esterno. Con tutti i tavoli apparecchiati!!! Non è la prima volta che ci vado visto che Palombi accanto è sempre pieno, e si capisce perché…, ma persone cosi cafone e poco adatte a stare con il pubblico difficilmente se ne trovano. Concordo con le recensioni negative che ho letto. E fatelo un sorriso ogni tanto si clienti sennò avrete sempre 4 gatti ai tavoli!

14/06/2025: Saturday 14th at 1:30 pm. Counter practically empty and pizza chef who also allows himself to address you in a sour manner thinking he is being funny. I am a Customer Care manager and I would not have let something like that pass. Too bad because the pizza is good, but certain things society should not tolerate.

21/08/2025: The good thing about this place is that they cook very well, but at the same time, it's also its downside, as it's always very crowded. Last time, we had to wait an hour for our food. If you want to try authentic Bangladeshi dishes at a good price, it's definitely recommended, even though the atmosphere is very basic and the wait isn't a problem. But if you want something in a quieter environment, there are plenty of alternatives. After my last experience, I don't know if I'd return, but it's definitely recommended for the quality of the food.

17/07/2025: Sono stata a cena con una amica e abbiamo mangiato veramente bene. Pesce freschissimo e porzioni super abbondanti. Posto carino sul mare ma soprattutto il ragazzo che ci ha servite di cui non ricordo il nome,gentilissimo ed educato e capace di consigliare cosa era meglio prendere! Grazie

03/07/2025: Location veramente carina, abbiamo cenato con una coppia di amici. Cibo ricercato, ottimamente preparato e servito. Personale molto cortese e veloce. È stato meraviglioso cenare guardando il mare. Tutto pulitissimo e curato nei dettagli. Nessun problema col parcheggio. Simpatia e professionalità da parte di chiunque. Il posto ideale per una serata romantica e rilassante.

18/06/2025: Pagando alla cassa €3,80 per un caffè e un cornetto ica poco), mi hanno rilasciato una cosa che sembrava una ricevuta e e che mi sono messa in tasca tranquillamente. Dopo un po' l'ho guardata e mi sono reso conto che non solo non è una vera ricevuta fiscale ma soltanto il famoso abusivo preconto, ma che non hanno avuto neanche il coraggio di scriverci la loro intestazione. Si tratta invece di Frisco, modesto locale dall'aspetto squallido in via civinini.

18/06/2025: Paying €3.80 at the cashier for a coffee and a croissant (which is not a small amount), they gave me something that looked like a receipt and I put it in my pocket without any worries. After a while I looked at it and realized that not only is it not a real receipt but only the famous abusive pre-bill, but they didn't even have the courage to write their names on it. It's Frisco, a modest, squalid-looking place on via Civinini. Shame. PS Its only merit is that it is one of the very few (all quite squalid) bars in the area. Curious, considering it is one of the richest neighborhoods in the capital.

20/07/2025: Posto molto piacevole vista lago. Buona scelta, personale cordiale ed aperto al giusto dialogo, attento ai dettagli ed alla cura del cliente. Provati degli antipasti che sono piaciuti a tutti come le Ostriche oppure fiore di zucca, cannolo di mare. Pure i primi sono stati buoni come gli spaghetti alle vongole, il tagliolino con baccalà, paccheri friggitelli. Le porzioni sono giuste tendenti al generoso, in pratica qui si "mangia" non si "assaggia". Anche i dolci ci sono piaciuti molto come il tiramisù che non è affatto scontato che sia buono a prescindere, buona la bavaresi ed il sorbetto al limone. Il sorriso sia degli Addetti di sala sia del titolare alla cassa quando ho espresso il nostro apprezzamento, valgono da soli una stella in più. Consigliato.

19/06/2025: Lo staff è gentile, questo va riconosciuto, ma per il resto un vero imbroglio. L’antipasto che porta il nome del locale, “Manicaretto”, costa ben 30 euro e in realtà sono solo un paio di bruscette a testa. Prezzo esagerato per una porzione ridicola, una presa in giro bella e buona. Molto deluso, non ci tornerò.

26/07/2025: We've dined before, both upstairs and downstairs in the tavern, where the food is very fresh. The place is quaint. This time, however, we didn't find the dishes we chose to be good. We chose nachos with three dips. I have to say that €8.50 for a portion, which were a bit crumbly and not crispy, with three small dips, I think is excessive. We then ordered chicken sandwiches served with fries. Unfortunately, the sandwiches weren't great, and the fries were greasy and partly not crispy. Overall, this time, I have to say, with regret, we didn't have a great experience. It's a shame.

29/03/2025: My wife and I returned to this restaurant after not going there for a long time and things have changed, but for the worse, first of all we took two All You Can Eat menus for €25 each with the addition of wine, Coca Cola and beer to arrive at a final bill of over €60. We ate, if I can say so, Chinese dishes, not Japanese and both the quantity and quality leave something to be desired, I have been going to Chinese restaurants since 1994 and it was the most disappointing experience. Microscopic and tasteless steamed ravioli, grilled prawns little more than a prawn, the only positive things are the environment and the service, those who like sushi will certainly have a different experience, the portions I saw are generous but the Chinese dishes leave something to be desired, elsewhere there is a better quality/price ratio, I leave one star because zero is not possible

26/08/2025: We were pleasantly surprised. This restaurant doesn't deserve a 3.1 rating. I would give it a 4.1-4.3 rating. The prices are fair and correspond to what you get on your plate. Good food for cheap. In short, don't hesitate to walk a few meters further down a small street to have a good meal.

13/08/2025: A truly terrible pizza. It's purely for tourists. The pizza tastes like a frozen pizza and looks a lot like it. You can barely taste the flavors. The pizzas just tasted the same. Don't eat there! You can eat much better in Trastevere.
