11/06/2025: Large cup for €4.50 with ice cream placed flush with the cup... if I had taken the €3.00 one it would have been practically the same. Hazelnut without flavor unfortunately... when asked what flavor do you have of granita they answer to go outside and look at the blackboard. Definitely quality ice cream but tasteless. 6 years that I have been coming here for convenience but in the end never satisfied. We will go elsewhere after today.

25/07/2025: I have seen some bad reviews so I want to share my experience. We had a great evening, the staff were very efficient and friendly and spoke Spanish and English. The food is very good quality, although the vegetarian options are a bit limited. The cocktails were great and well served. We went here before a concert at Parco della Música and it was perfect. The athmosphere is lovely, it has a huge outside seating space illuminated by lightbulbs, a pizza truck and a meat grill. The garden is surrounded by palm trees. We had a great dining experience.

29/07/2025: Sono stato varie volte in passato in questo ristorante e mi ero sempre trovato bene. Purtroppo lo scorso 25 luglio ho deciso di fare una sosta con la famiglia al rientro dalle ferie, pessima scelta. La nuova gestione è terrificante non ho mai visto tante persone abbandonare la sala senza neanche ver ordinato. Un disastro totale la gestione delle comande con clienti infuriati per i continui errori e i biblici tempi di attesa. E' stato fatto tutto quello che si poteva fare per rovinare un posto che andava benissimo, che amarezza.

25/07/2025: Siamo stati lì a mangiare per lavoro varie volte cibo pessimo patatine fritte e rifritte , pasta scotta , pietanze scadenti Servizio pessimo tempi di attesa indecifrabili , camerieri sicuro non del mestiere , quando era tutto in mano al vecchio proprietario Alessandro si stava una favola , da quando c’è il nuovo gestore che non è mestiere suo ci è venuta la dissenteria DA EVITARE

07/09/2025: FANTASTIC!!! We also had a delicious carbonara. I highly recommend the chicken and fries, which are rustic and truly delicious, all accompanied by two equally delicious sauces. It's far from the usual "tourist trap" restaurants, which is why it gets extra points! If you're in Piazza del Popolo, I definitely recommend you go there!! NOT TO MENTION THE PRICES ARE SUPER CHEAP!

04/09/2025: Our best meal in Rome so far. Food was superb, and service was excellent! A hidden gem in such an unassuming location.

27/07/2025: Mediocre coffee served in a glass and not a cup. Also an unfriendly staff. No smiles. And worst of all the toilet has no soap. When asked about it, staff rudely replied ‘it’s finished’

07/06/2025: We ordered two espresso tonic, they gave us 2 espresso, 2 tonics and 2 glasses with ice. When we wanted to paid, they charged us 24 euros, because it was cocktail in their eyes…cocktail that we have to make ourselves. We asked how much is espresso (1.2 €). I think the place was lovely but now I don’t want to come back, I feel cheated.

21/06/2025: Wonderful place! A place to enjoy a cup of ice cream overlooking the lake. A cup of ice cream enriched with really good fruit!!! Strawberries, kiwi, melon, watermelon, blueberries, peaches, pineapple. All fruit to be seasoned with many flavors of ice cream. Fair prices for table service. Friendly staff. Breathtaking lake view. Three cups of ice cream with mixed fruit, 25 euros.

19/06/2025: I would like to respond to the two-star review of "Marco", I am the guy who was sitting in front of you. I would like to point out that I was just a regular customer, who doesn't like arrogance especially towards those who are working and being there often I have seen all sorts of things. The minutes were not 20 but 10 as he said "out loud" to the girl looking around proudly and pointing to the clock. Not considering the fact that he sat at the outside table of a very crowded place without even telling anyone that he was sitting at the table. I think we need a little more respect towards those who work.

28/06/2025: Come da titolo. Trovato per caso. Provato a colazione. Ampia scelta di dolce e salato (produzione propria interna) Buona anche la caffettiera. Disponibili tavoli all’esterno in un dehors sul fronte. Prezzi nella media. Buona la cortesia.

13/06/2025: I'm sorry to have to leave this review but I hope it will be taken as advice to improve customer service. -Update after the owner's response: I didn't get the wrong shop, it was the end of April and I also have the photos if needed- I ordered and picked up a cake for a birthday and when it was time to eat it with the celebrants, I had an unpleasant surprise. The colored decoration on top of the cake was literally inedible: very sour flavor as if there was a very high concentration of some ingredient. Luckily I had time to warn the other people. To err is human and of course! So, before leaving the review, just over half of the cake had been brought back to the shop to report the inconvenience. The response was: "We're sorry, next time we'll do it better". We're sorry too because in addition to having wasted money, we made a fool of ourselves with the guests. As a merchant, I would have at least given a bag of cookies as a gesture of apology for a mistake that can happen. We would have appreciated it. So the review is mainly to improve customer service in order to avoid losing another future regular customer (and risk another similar review).

17/08/2025: This was my first time here for dinner. Everything was truly excellent. I recommend the Argentine steak. Emma, the woman who served us, was super helpful and professional. I highly recommend this place. Everything was delicious and everyone was very helpful, including the owner, who is attentive to his customers.

27/05/2025: Nos entusiasmó probar la famosa cocina local de carbonara, ensalada césar, ñoquis y bistec. Fue tan decepcionante.

23/05/2025: Fui allí a buscar el pescado con patatas fritas que vi en su menú por 13 euros. Cuando llegué y pedí pescado con papas fritas me dijeron que ya no las hacen y que ese era el menú antiguo. ¡Ofrecieron hacerlos de sardinas! ¿Quién quiere comer pescado con papas fritas hechas de sardinas? Cuando los rechacé, me dijeron que me harían camarones fritos con papas fritas y porque estaba cansada y hambrienta y ya eran más de las 9 de la noche, dije que sí. Cuando llegó, que estaba en un tazón pequeño, tuve que encontrar los camarones entre las papas fritas que eran más como papas fritas que papas fritas. Solo había 5 camarones pequeños. Cuando llegó el momento de pagar, sí mencioné el hecho de que había muy pocos camarones para el precio que pagué, y no dijeron nada. Tal vez debería haberles preguntado cuántos camarones me iban a dar por los 13 euros primero antes de decirles ok? No creo que en un restaurante muy respetable tengas que hacer eso. Si vuelvo a Roma definitivamente no volveré a ir allí de nuevo.

05/03/2025: Se il ragazzo con il capello e senza grembiule quando esce per fumare a mettere le dita nel portacenere o buttare la cicca a terra, prima di toccare bicchieri cibo e cucchiaini si lavasse le mani non sarebbe cosa sgradita. Il caffè chiesto era corto. Pago e vorrei un caffè… se te lo chiedo corto ok ma se non te lo chiedo perché mi fai un cm di bevanda ?

26/07/2025: La Garbatella è sempre la Garbatella ma la piazzetta della Regione Lazio è un crocevia di persone, gente e localini speciali, fra cui spicca "la Bottega di Merlino" dove oggi, dopo essermelo ripromesso da una vita, ho preso un fantastico aperitivo. Il personale tutto sorridente, professionale ed efficiente; siamo capitati in un momento in cui c'era tantissima gente ma in pochissimo tempo Morena ci ha fatti accomodare e ci ha servito un aperitivo home made e poi l'arrivo della titolare Pamela una donna unica, cuoca infaticabile che da sola potrebbe gestire il catering di Sanremo. La sua cordialità, semplicità e professionalità rendono questo locale unico...in un colpo d'occhio ti trovi, vini eccellenti, primi piatti cucinati col cuore e splendidi dolci...che altro aggiungere ci vedremo presto per un pranzo perché la "Bottega di Merlino" è quel posto dove tutti vorrebbero lavorare perché non si respira odore di famiglia ma lo si vive proprio. Complimenti.

17/08/2025: I came in for five seconds. To be honest, I wanted to sit down and eat. However, while I was trying a piece of parmesan and a piece of salami, the owner, thinking we didn't understand Italian, started saying, "Come on, it's not a buffet," and other colorful comments that definitely changed my mind about sitting down. Thank you for your politeness, and above all, I can confirm that the cheeses were pitiful. A real tourist trap.
