06/08/2025: A charming place, with an atmosphere steeped in Napoleon and the Treaty of Campoformido, even with an "N" on the ice bucket for the wine! The owners are all busy: mother and daughter serving, and father in the kitchen. The grilled fish is excellent. French is spoken ;-)

28/08/2025: This was our first time in Friuli and we were looking forward to the landscape, the towns, the food, the wine, the mountains, and the sea. While searching for a personally run agriturismo, we came across the friendly reviews of La Faula and felt completely at home there! Luca and Paul have created a very special place, with plenty of space for retreat and peace, as well as for meeting people and sharing their humanity. 17/08/2025: We stayed with Luca and Paul several times. If you're looking for peace and relaxation, this is the place for you. Excellent food and drinks, cleanliness and service were top-notch. Ideal location for excursions, especially recommended: Grado, Cividale, Udine, Venice, Trieste, and Aquileia. We'd love to come back!

19/07/2025: Antica Osteria in the center offers traditional Friulian cuisine with Slovenian influences, being close to the border. It offers authentic, home-cooked food, not to be missed if you're passing through!

08/07/2025: Very nice hostess, delicious croissants, great coffee and even better atmosphere. The lady only speaks Italian but we managed to communicate. There is a toilet, but expect a typical Italian one.

27/07/2025: We stopped for lunch, and it was a surprise. An old-fashioned place, beautifully decorated in period style. Excellent service...my wife's glasses had fallen off as soon as we sat down, and they immediately took her glasses to a trusted optician. The lady who looked after us also gave us some very interesting tidbits about the history of the place. We had a carbonara: very good, with excellent guanciale, but be warned, it's a bit too peppery for my taste. There's no parking, but further down the street there's a parking lot with a parking disc. We'll definitely be back next time.

23/08/2025: This trattoria is located on a hill not far from Cividale del Friuli. It features an outdoor area that offers the opportunity to dine, in our case, with a splendid view of the surrounding vineyards. The interior is very well-kept and welcoming. It offers a few, but sufficient, dishes that evoke, in your mind and on your palate, the cooking of your mother, made with simple, high-quality ingredients. The wine is also excellent. The staff is young, friendly, and dynamic. Recommended.

16/08/2025: A renovated farmhouse overlooking the Collio vineyards. Sit down with your dog in the shade of a kiwi tree. Francisco, the host with a heart of gold, and the staff are professional and courteous. Crostini with melt-in-the-mouth lard, a rare Florentine steak that cuts like butter, and an excellent Merlot. The millefeuille with berries and the homemade emulsifier sorbet are noteworthy. Prices are in line with the quality of the food offered. Thank you, Francisco, and see you next time!

16/08/2025: Perfect hospitality – we were lucky enough to be able to reserve a table. In the glorious summer ambiance, we enjoyed the wonderful view from the terrace overlooking the hills of Corno di Rosazzo. The beautifully set table (with cloth napkins!) aroused anticipation for the following culinary experience. Our recommendation for the cold starter (antipasto) was a salad with sautéed chanterelle mushrooms, and the warm starter (primo) was a pasta made from Sarceno (buckwheat) with flavorful beef. You can only find it in Italy: seemingly simple, yet unique. For the main course (secondo) in this renowned meat temple, we chose "Bife de chorizo," an Argentinian sirloin steak, grilled whole to medium-rare, served with oven-baked potato wedges. Wonderful, just the perfect amount for two, wonderfully tender and flavorful! The service and the host, Francisco, were prompt and friendly! Everything was perfect, the homemade sorbetti (plum and pear) emphasized the special status of the house. Sparkling wine and wine from the owner's Perusini winery. The price was right. Oil from Parovel in Trieste! I couldn't think of anything better. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience with you. Best regards, Christian da Villaco

08/08/2025: Very friendly. I was able to charge my battery and enjoy a good Italian meal while I did. Many long-distance drivers can't be wrong. Very fast, good, and affordable.

13/08/2025: First time at this restaurant, recommended by a friend since we were in the area. Very kind and friendly staff. You can eat both inside and in the outdoor garden. The meat menu and wine list feature mostly local dishes; their schioppettino was good. As for the dishes, nothing special to report, except for the meat, which, as other tables also noted, was very spicy despite the overall flavor being good. The cured meats were good, with a decent variety. The wait was very long despite the limited number of tables. Prices were average, except for a few dishes that were slightly above average. Overall, a positive experience, but we had higher expectations.

10/08/2025: More than a dinner—or rather, two, because we returned a few days later—it was an experience. Exceptional. Upon entering, you find yourself in a warm and intimate setting, immediately welcomed and put at ease. The menu offers a selection of traditional dishes, which we sampled practically in their entirety over the course of both dinners. All dishes are prepared with care and attention to the ingredients. The "maialata"—pork ribs cooked to perfection—is unsurpassed, and I've called it the best meat dish I've eaten in fifty years. A fine bottle of "schioppettino," the typical local wine, completes the experience. Definitely worth trying, and trying again! Excellent prices considering the quality of the food.
