28/07/2026: I went to dinner with my family and had made a reservation. I asked for a fish dinner without ordering from the menu. Everything was delicious. Beautiful, delicious, and creative dishes. Even the dessert was amazing. Excellent value for money.

28/07/2026: We flew all the way from America, and this meal was worth every mile! Eros treated us to an incredible traditional Friulian meal, and every dish was absolutely delicious. Beyond the amazing food the atmosphere and sense of community made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Friuli, this place is an absolute must visit!

07/05/2026: Very attentive and friendly staff. When we arrived soaking wet after a rainy day on our bikes, the hostess took excellent care of us. The room was very clean, and dinner was beautifully presented and delicious. The self-service breakfast in the communal kitchen was well-prepared and offered a good variety of options. We appreciated the secure and safe storage of our bikes in the bike garage. We would gladly recommend this accommodation.

10/06/2026: Our visit was unfortunately rather average, and we wouldn't return. We tried the house specialty – a kind of potato pizza. For €15, however, we expected significantly more. Ultimately, the dish consisted mainly of fried potatoes. The schnitzel with fries was also nothing special and seemed like standard deep-fried fare. The gnocchi with cheese and cream sauce and mushrooms tasted good, but the mushrooms were chopped very finely and got lost in the sauce. The polenta was unfortunately burnt, but to our credit, we weren't charged for it after complaining. We found the allergen information particularly disappointing. We had specifically asked before ordering and still weren't given the correct information. Luckily, the server was attentive when serving and pointed out the peanuts in the dish. The menu was also quite confusing. Only parts of it were available in German or English. The German-speaking server simply showed us to our table and then handed us over to a colleague, which made communication somewhat difficult. Additionally, the grilled dishes were only listed at the counter, without any prices. Overall, the visit was okay, but neither the food nor the organization impressed us.

31/05/2026: We booked at the last minute because we were passing by on our bikes. Ortona was very welcoming and the food was very good. The smell of grilled meat was delicious. But the choice was either to call a taxi or continue our journey by bike. We'll stop by again for the meat.

08/07/2026: A wonderful experience at Bar Al Fungo in Gemona. Although prosciutto e melone wasn’t on the menu, they happily prepared this classic Italian summer dish just because we asked. Such a thoughtful and genuinely kind gesture! The sweet, perfectly ripe melon paired with the delicate, flavorful prosciutto was simply outstanding. Sometimes it’s these small acts of hospitality that make a place truly memorable. If you’re passing through Gemona, this is definitely a place worth stopping at.

13/06/2026: We stayed overnight in our campervan right next to Willy's. The campsite was very clean. €20 included electricity and use of the toilets and showers. Absolutely fantastic. Trains pass by 60 meters away during the day, but you get used to it very quickly. The food at Willy's is plentiful and varied. The staff are very friendly.

09/06/2026: Located directly on the Alpe Adria Cycle Route, this hotel offers a fantastic overnight option for cyclists. Guests staying for just one night are welcome at any time. A large garage for bicycles is also included. You can enjoy dinner here without hesitation, or visit the restaurant behind the hotel. An ideal starting point for bike tours! The staff are very friendly and helpful!

07/05/2026: The Si-Si Hotel in Gemona, where I had the pleasure of staying for one night, deserves a special mention. The atmosphere, seemingly small, surprises you upon entering, perhaps revealing the stinginess of the star rating. It's been a while since I've come across a hotel that, despite its simplicity, exudes great functionality and efficiency, both in its service and hospitality. Recommended.

05/05/2026: Perfect for those traveling by car or bicycle between Italy and Austria. The room with a terrace is fantastic. Check-in and check-out are self-service with a QR code. Only breakfast is a bit so-so, with industrial jams, a very sweet juice, and slices of cheese and ham upon request. Part of the building also serves as a restaurant, bar, and tobacconist.

20/06/2026: Excellent ice cream shop, with an outdoor seating area and a beautifully maintained garden, perfect for kids too. Fast and friendly service.
