02/10/2025: Nice, friendly staff, good food

29/09/2025: I reviewed this place on The Fork because it was there that I booked with a 20% discount (applied only to two first courses and not to the total). Normal food, there's much better. Before booking on The Fork, I asked over the phone if we could arrive at 2 pm, and obviously, in order to get money for two adults and three children, they said yes, and so far so good. On the way there, we were 5 minutes late, so I called back to let them know. The answer was yes, no problem. We only ordered two first courses, one mixed vegetable dish, and one appetizer with two slices of prosciutto, two slices of mortadella, and three crescentina. Given that the almost 3-year-old and 6-year-old didn't eat anything at all, while the older one did. Moral of the story: €17.50, just a €3.50 cover charge per person, yet the waiter was also aware that the children weren't eating. It's fair to pay a cover charge for them too, but €3.50 isn't even worth it at Cracco. Then there's the trick of the 20% The Fork discount not being applied to all dishes, and I'll also show you the politeness of this phantom Bolognese restaurant manager, his politeness in responding to my review of The Fork, an insult to non-profit organizations and children. You're truly ridiculous.

12/09/2025: Wide variety of excellent quality food, super fast service, I love having an aperitif in the evening or even dinner, excellent value. I love going there at sunset, but keep in mind that cargo ships occasionally pass through, with pros and cons.

12/10/2025: Excellent. The menu celebrates local cuisine with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors: from artisanal cured meats to pumpkin cappellacci.

11/10/2025: At the far end of Via delle Volte in Ferrara, I found a place that looks unassuming, almost hidden among the cobblestones and arches. I had pasta filled with pumpkin, a dish rooted in the local tradition, paired with a beautiful glass of Sangiovese. The food was extraordinary, simple in appearance yet unforgettable in flavor, easily one of the top ten dining experiences of my life. Forgive my poor photo of the dish! It did not do it justice. I am a terrible photographer.

24/09/2025: I had a Mexican one (a kind of swirl with cream and raisins). I've had so many around, but this is among the worst...dry!!! I asked if it's normal for it to be so hard and brittle, and the answer was that it's smaller than a croissant, so it's like that. I think they need to reconsider the size and cooking method.... I had it put in a bag and took it away so as not to throw it in the trash....that would have been unpleasant anyway. Maybe it just wasn't fresh enough! The price is excessive. The place is very nice, and the variety of products, even savory ones, is excellent.

16/08/2025: I often stop by on Wednesday evenings to get takeout pizza. The pizza is Neapolitan, so it's quite thick, and it's very good, light, and easy to digest. The service is very fast, and I usually never wait more than 10 minutes.

12/10/2025: Except for the friendly and well-intentioned young waitress, everything else needs updating: the disappointing location, resembling a bar; the cover charge, which consists of a placemat, is €2.50 per person. The preparation times for each dish vary, making it impossible to eat together. The wait time for a rice dish (not risotto, without any kind of stirring) with fish: an hour and forty minutes. The worst part? Nowhere is it indicated (except on the receipt) that dishes, if you request them gluten-free, cost an additional €1.50 by default; as if being celiac were a choice. Unacceptable. I would not recommend it.

As someone who’s not a Michelin Guide expert, I can say with certainty that Osteria del Viandante deserves far more than just a single star—it’s a place that’s clearly shooting straight for a second. This was the highlight of our entire trip, and honestly, it’s hard to imagine anything else living up to this experience. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with a level of service that instantly set the tone for what was to come. The staff were warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through each course and ensuring that our every need was met. Their genuine passion for the food was evident, and it made the entire meal feel like a special event. Now, let's talk about the food. The multi-course tasting menu was nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was an artwork, bursting with flavors that were as bold as they were delicate, every bite perfectly balanced. It’s clear that attention to detail and creativity are at the heart of this restaurant, with the chef pushing boundaries while respecting tradition. And let’s not forget the wine pairing—it was exceptional, enhancing each course and offering us the chance to explore regional varieties that were absolutely perfect with the dishes. Though we had to take the train from Bologna and later a cab back to the city, it was worth every minute of the journey. This place is an experience that transcends just a meal; it’s a culinary journey, one that we’ll remember forever. Osteria del Viandante is a true gem, and I honestly believe it’s aiming for—and deserves—a second Michelin star. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and make a reservation. This is a dining experience you’ll want to be part of. ✨🍷 A small note: We were hoping to thank and congratulate the chef in person, but unfortunately, he didn’t come out to the dining room. Regardless, the experience was truly unforgettable, and we’ll be sure to return soon!

15/09/2025: My advice is to ask for a plate of off-menu cold cuts as an appetizer. Many, if not all, were chef-made and delicious.

06/10/2025: We finally returned to one of the best trattorias in Romagna, 33 people but we should have been more, the bad weather stopped some of our biker friends... what can I say... I admire the places that even though they are already doing very well, they are committed to doing even better... for me always number one, keep it up 👏👏

30/09/2025: The worst place to have lunch, avoid at least for lunch. Everything is bland, except for the bread and the very kind wait staff. The farfalle in bianco (white pasta) with peas and ham was made 40 years ago at the Caritas soup kitchen. The coffee is also bad.

04/10/2025: I would like to compliment Valentina and Filippo, owners of Osteria Caldrone, for their professionalism, kindness, and friendliness. My husband and I were preparing for our son's first communion and wanted to eat home-made cuisine from our area, and on the advice of friends, they recommended Caldrone. So we booked, and agreed with Valentina, who recommended some menus, which I would say were of great quality, from appetizers to dessert. Everything was homemade. We ate outside under their beautiful, rustic porch, with equally spectacular decorations, in my opinion. We ate a lot, generous portions, and excellent flavor. Excellent wines. It's a pleasure to return. Thank you so much, and keep it up, guys.

04/10/2025: I've been there a few times, but the few times I have, I've had a great time. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and the atmosphere is quiet. The food is very good and the portions are generous. I would definitely recommend it!
