I had lunch at La Baita during a day in Sulmona and had a truly pleasant experience. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, in a rustic mountain style, with meticulous attention to detail, perfect for a relaxing lunch. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff, who were always available and attentive despite the restaurant being quite busy. I really appreciated the quality of the dishes: generous portions, fresh ingredients, and authentic Abruzzo flavors. I was particularly impressed by the focaccia caprese and the grilled meat, which were truly flavorful. The service was also quick and well-organized, which is not a given at lunchtime. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, ideal for both a quiet lunch break and a meal with friends. The quality/price ratio is also excellent. It's definitely a place I'd happily return to when I'm in Sulmona again.

A true mountain hut located on the edge of the town of Scanno. Mountain atmosphere and wooden furnishings. Quite busy. Slow service (perhaps because it was a Saturday night). Good food options, both traditional and typical Abruzzo dishes. Average prices. Positive experience.

One of the best places to eat in Scanno. The pizza and other dishes are excellent. Fast service and very helpful staff. A bit noisy.

The saffron, pecorino, guanciale, and honey packages are out of this world! We always get those when we go! Not to mention the arrosticini! Never tasted so good, soft, and juicy! Highly recommended.

We had lunch at this restaurant on Saturday, May 2, 2026. It's a very welcoming location, with a mountain atmosphere and parking available. The staff is friendly and professional, and the service is fast. We enjoyed the cazzilli, pappardelle, and packets, the baita appetizer, various vegetables, baked potatoes, tiramisu, and ricotta tart: everything was delicious.

Excellent restaurant in a spacious, rustic mountain setting. Excellent Abruzzo products. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great prices too. We'll definitely be back.

If you're passing through Scanno, this cabin is a must-see! 🌲 Beautiful location, all in wood, it feels like you're in a fairytale. Excellent food with an unbeatable quality-price ratio. Super friendly staff who make you feel at home. Plus, we found it open even though it was Tuesday and almost everything in the area was closed! Five well-deserved stars!
