15/06/2025: This is a fantastic local restaurant! The service is friendly, and the pizza is outstanding. I highly recommend it, but be sure to book a table in advance - it always gets crowded.

24/08/2025: Excellent bar at the beginning of the Viareggio promenade, near the Principe di Piemonte. I always order their legendary Sicilian granitas; there are about thirty flavors, each one better than the last. It's also a great place to have a drink while sitting at the tables along the promenade. Update July 2023 - The flavors have now decreased a bit, but the granita is still excellent. The smallest size costs €3. Update 2024: The granita is still excellent; the small one is €3 and the medium one is €4. Update 2025: I confirm the same quality and prices as last year.

22/08/2025: As a native of Viareggio, I love their renowned, award-winning rice puddings. I order them often!!!! For tourists, this is definitely recommended! Otherwise, it's a popular place, but not cheap.

24/05/2025: Restaurant traditionnel à la décoration un peu désuète mais avec beaucoup de charme. La cuisine est elle aussi traditionnelle mais très bien exécutée et permet de decouvrir une autre cuisine de Toscane. Service agréable dans un endroit calme.

17/07/2025: Il "Baccanale" è sempre una garanzia! Qualità e ricercatezza del prodotto, cura e presentazione dei piatti. Invitata ad una cena di compleanno, menù superlativo di pesce: a partire da ostriche e crudo eccellenti, un antipasto di polpo delizioso e morbidissimo, un primo superlativo di ravioli di pesce di cui avrei fatto con piacere il bis e ricciola come secondo . Non poteva mancare la torta di festeggiamento! Davvero una cena di alto livello e complimenti al proprietario Costantino, che nel tempo ha trasformato questo locale, portandolo a livelli competitivi di alta qualità .

06/06/2025: Acaba de pasar en este lugar maravilloso y tan contento de que lo hicimos. Personal muy encantador que describió cada plato, grandes porciones, gran valor y mucho más que cualquier otro que visitamos. Realmente se preocupan por la comida y la presentación, excelente.

15/09/2025: An evening with friends at this historic Lucca restaurant, which used to be my Thursday lunch stop with schoolmates in the early '90s when it was called "Fratelli Bandiera"... and a lot of water has passed under the bridge, and I've found the place much improved!! But above all, kudos to the people who run it—I don't know their name, but at the cash register, like the person who churned out pizzas, focaccias, calzones, and more...and also to the staff serving tables, all welcoming, friendly, helpful, kind, and quick. The cooked focaccia and mozzarella and cecina were very, very good. Wait for me, I'll be back soon! Katia

13/09/2025: Excellent food in a beautiful square shaded by plane trees. What more could you ask for?! I was in Lucca 4 years ago and am returning today. When I thought about what to eat, I immediately thought of coming here. The platter is truly excellent, just as I remembered it!

09/08/2025: We're from Barcelona and found this truly special and welcoming taverna. The food is made with excellent ingredients and cooked with love. They also have a spectacular selection of local wines. We loved it!

06/08/2025: I'm on vacation and I've been coming here for a week. The croissants are excellent, the service is too, but I've noticed since the first day some very arrogant attitudes from one employee (in particular). I thought it was a bad day, but after a week I continue to see attitudes that would be "annoying", bottles banged around and you pointing out that asking for two glasses of water could be a pain in the ass. On the contrary, the rest of the team is very kind and welcoming.

17/08/2025: A small restaurant located in an area where there are no other nearby restaurants, which is a blessing for them, but also a sign of entrepreneurial savvy. The atmosphere is decent, the food and pizzas are average but nothing special. The cecina, however, is best avoided; it's too oily and too thin, making it difficult to digest. The portions are a bit small for the prices, which are overall a bit high.

15/08/2025: Me and my husband love Pablos! It definitely one of our top choices for a date night or cheat meal on our diet. We have eaten in and collected and the food never disappoints. All of the staff are so kind, caring and welcoming. We always see a smile on their faces when we are there or walk in. All of the food is to die for! We have tried pretty much everything off their menu at this point.

12/07/2025: Che dire ….. locale carino in un borgo del Chianti, cucina a mio avviso nella media , preso un crostino nero toscano….da toscano dico …no , tonno di coniglio dove ho trovato pezzettini di ossa … e due filetti dove si era chiesto connatura al sangue…..e non lo era….in compenso la carne buona ma a mio giudizio nella norma. Servizio , ok i ragazzi di Sala molto gentili, la ragazza che ha preso l’ordine un po’ “ scocciata “ non proprio in linea con il resto del personale. Mi aspettavo qualcosa in più, prezzi adeguati a ciò che viene offerto. …non credo tornerò…..

29/08/2025: A very nice and modern restaurant, with friendly and smiling staff. The wait, however, was long: about 40 minutes for a pizza and a burger, a bit excessive. The pizza was truly excellent, no complaints there. Unfortunately, the burger meat was disappointing: I wasn't asked how well done it was, and I was left with a pink, unpleasant interior, but also dry and compact, far from the expected tenderness. Overall, a positive experience for the pizza, but not for the meat.

28/08/2025: Excellent gluten-free food! We had pizza and tortelloni with ragù! The quality is there, excellent flavor. The pizza had a crispy crust and was cooked well. The tortelloni were delicious...filled with meat and with a truly delicious ragù! We'll definitely be back. The atmosphere is very unique, clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly!

07/09/2025: We had a lovely and wonderful wine tasting, and the owner took incredibly good care of us. After purchasing some of the fantastic wines and the excellent olive oil, we also visited the restaurant. Here, too, great quality, wonderful food, and, of course, the house wines.

01/09/2025: An absolute highlight of our Tuscany trip was the visit to the Gualdo del Re winery in Suvereto! The wine tasting with Lorenzo was a true experience – not only is he extremely friendly, warm, and knowledgeable, but he also guided us through the wines with passion and knowledge. We were particularly impressed by the Pinot Bianco – fresh, elegant, and with great structure. You can feel the attention to detail here. The attached restaurant is also highly recommended. It is located in a beautiful, quiet location and offers a cozy, relaxed atmosphere where you immediately feel at home. The food was excellent – ​​regional specialties, freshly prepared, and full of flavor. Perfectly matched to the house wines! All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable visit that we highly recommend to every wine lover and gourmet. We will definitely be back!
