After being incredibly turned down by another pizzeria in the area, despite having a confirmed reservation, we stumbled upon Alter Ego in Caltavuturo... and thank goodness! As soon as we stepped inside, we were enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, but what really makes the difference here is the human factor: we found a unique kindness and helpfulness that are rare nowadays. Why choose it: • Impeccable service: Attentive, fast, and smiling staff, despite the place being lively and busy. • Top-notch cuisine: We didn't eat well, it was more than that! Each course was carefully prepared and rich in flavor. You could taste the passion behind every dish. • Atmosphere: The ideal place to relax and truly feel like a "guest" in the truest sense of the word. If you're looking for a place where the quality of the food goes hand in hand with politeness and hospitality, you're in luck. We've already forgotten the injustice we suffered elsewhere thanks to this wonderful discovery. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back.

17/01/2026: A friend of mine and I decided to go to this place, both to say hello to the great chef Gesualdo Faulisi and to taste his delicious pizzas ☺️! Excellent pizza, as always 😍! At the end of the evening, before leaving, I decided to buy two of his countless products, made by him, using his own raw materials! I bought the mustard, made with wild Madonita mustard, and a package of bronze-drawn pasta, slowly dried, from single-variety Perciasacchi wheat, of which I will attach a photo! For anyone passing through this town, I highly recommend you go and taste his cuisine 🤩.

11/06/2026: Absolutely amazing. I chose a dish with a pistachio sauce, gamberi and salmon, which I am not used to, but I absolutely loved it. They also managed to do an extraordinary limoncello spritz!

10/06/2026: We chose the All You Can Eat menu and were truly satisfied! We were served by Alex, who was very professional, kind, and attentive. He recommended the pasta with amberjack, which was delicious, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The pasta with mussels was also truly delicious, as was the one with broccoli, which pleasantly surprised us: all were fabulous! Overall, we ate wonderfully, with excellent quality dishes. Furthermore, the entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel welcomed from start to finish. It was an absolutely positive experience; we'll definitely be back! Congratulations to the entire team, and a special thanks to Alex for the excellent recommendations.

Theirs' cuisine is "classic," and precisely for this reason, extraordinary: authentic flavors, respected ingredients, dishes that tell a story. Every time I return, it's a confirmation: the highest quality, a warm welcome, and a unique atmosphere. I recommend everyone to immerse themselves in this gastronomic heritage. 20/01/2026: A charming place that combines excellent traditional food with the chef's unique interpretations. The location is beautiful and well-kept. The owners are delightful people who strive to please their guests in every way. The maître d' is professional and attentive. What more can I say? If you want an elegant, romantic setting with excellent food, this is the place to go. I forgot to mention that it's a restaurant very suitable for large events. Everything will be perfect! We've tried it on several occasions (weddings, baptisms, and a 25th wedding anniversary).

25/12/2025: The food was very good. Sadly the service was disappointing. Very cold and not interested in revenue and the guests. Very strangely strickt hierarchy, where the "normal" server was not allowed to bring me a glas of sparkking wine for my apertif. I had to wait for the Manager/Supervisor to come to my table. But the first problem was, I like my sparkling wine while I check the menu, because mostly I get a white wine for the first course. At the end till the supervisor came to my table, I already finished checking the menu. I ordered directly a white wine and my food. The wine was brought by the supervisor, as I tasted it, it was to sweet for me. He said "yeah sometimes chardonnay is quite fruity". Proving to me, they have expensive wines but no sommelier knowledge for proper recommendation: sweetness and fruityness in wines have no correlation. After I finished that wihite wine, my glass stayed empty quite a while. The restaurant was not full, there was enough staff, my table was in the middle of the restaurant, they passed my table all the time, sometime even stood in front of my table. Only after picking up my finished main course, I could ask for anogher glass of wine. A rosé this time. Normaly, I get a glass of red wine to finish. I never came to this glass, as again, after finishing my drink, I got completly ignored. I went to many restaurants worldwide, also with michelin stars. Never I got such cold behavior from the service staff. Please talk to your guests, ask if they want something else. You loose revenue not doing that. You could have sold 2 to 3 more glasses to me. As said, kitchen did a great job.
