03/01/2026: A nice place right in the city center, but some things could be improved. The food isn't bad, but it's not a memorable flavor either. The service is generally good, but having friends order ahead of the owner can be annoying. In our case, we had to wait 40 minutes for a coffee because a table right next to ours passed us simply because they were friends of the owner.

26/12/2025: A very charming place, if it weren't for the terrible service and the extremely low quality of the dishes. Entering a restaurant in the historic center, you'd expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere, but instead you find yourself in a place with no heating at all, no background music, a barking dog in the owners' restaurant, and a crowd of unsavory people using illicit substances right outside. I ordered a house appetizer, which is usually homemade, but as is often the case, it was a flavorless, low-quality frozen product. Not to mention the first course, which was trulli with basil pesto, dried tomatoes, and burrata. When it arrived, it was soaked in a sea of ​​basil oil, and it felt like pasta with olive oil. I don't mean to sound squeamish, but you can't serve dishes like that and leave them untouched without receiving feedback from the owner who was waiting the tables about the various remaining dishes. And as if that weren't enough, there was no coffee, sweet or bitter, to serve to your customers. Places like this should be on the tourist radar, as our baroque city of Lecce is. Entrepreneurs who think they have the skills to launch themselves into the restaurant world are a disgrace to the people who visit you.

08/04/2026: We had the Spumone, a typical Salento dish. It's delicious; not everywhere is it this good and plentiful. Plus, the lady at the cash register, I assume the owner, is really kind. Plus, the bar is located on Gallipoli's historic island, and you can sit outside on the pedestrian promenade. It was Easter weekend, so the tourist season is just beginning.

29/12/2025: We were here and were impressed by the location: truly stunning and meticulously cared for down to the smallest details. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and above all, friendly. The place is modern and spotlessly clean, impeccably clean! We tried the fantastic and delicious sandwiches 😋, and the pizzas were very original and made with top-quality ingredients. The bread has a special, unique, and very digestible flavor that was truly delicious. To wash it all down, excellent beers with a variety of flavors. A place that combines a great atmosphere, good food, and excellent beer. Try it and believe it!

The staff and owners are very friendly and knowledgeable, and know how to make you feel at home. The appetizers and main courses are excellent; we'll be back to try more.

As a Level 8 Local Guide, I always strive for the right balance between expectation and reality, and tonight 'Il Re della Pizza' in Gallipoli nailed it. I'd seen Cristian's viral videos, and while he's hilarious and captivating on social media, it's in front of the oven that he shows his true worth. The pizza is exactly as he describes it: light, easy to digest, and made with top-quality ingredients. It's not just marketing, it's true passion. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service makes you feel at home. If you're in Gallipoli, this is a must-see. Highly recommended!

22/03/2026: WOW! The food is wonderful 🤩 Everything is delicious. The only flaw is in one of the off-menu dishes, the spaghetti with lobster. The lobster is very chewy, but otherwise it's a spectacle. Trust me and go there.

09/03/2026: The food is excellent; it's simple, traditional cuisine, with a seasonal menu that respects the ingredients. The seafood linguine is excellent. The restaurant is located in Acaya, a small village in the province of Lecce, a short walk from the castle. There's a lovely fireplace. The service is friendly. 100% recommended.

13/04/2026: Unfortunately, my experience at Zonzi was extremely disappointing. Let's start with the bathrooms: they were uneven, dirty, and in truly disrepair, which is unacceptable for a restaurant. The service was equally terrible. They seemed disinterested and unprofessional. As for the food, I can only say it was bland and devoid of any character. I found nothing that justified the time and money spent. I absolutely do NOT recommend visiting this restaurant. There are definitely better options in the area.

06/04/2026: The security guard at the entrance, a woman with short gray hair, was extremely rude to me, even yelling at me for placing my very small dog in the cart. She raised her voice in front of everyone in the room, an attitude I found humiliating, humiliating, and completely disproportionate to the situation. I should point out that I hadn't seen any immediately obvious indication that there were special dog carts, so there was no intention on my part to violate any rules or regulations of the mall. Precisely because the entire facility is advertised as pet-friendly, I never expected to be treated in such a manner, rather than simply receiving a polite and civilized complaint. I should also add that the carts are normally left outside, often exposed to the rain and in less than impeccable hygienic conditions. For this reason, I sincerely believe that all this fuss has been made over a very small dog, handled without any intention of causing disturbance or creating problems... I truly believe that incidents of this kind deserve attention because the attitude of the staff should always be characterised by education, moderation and respect towards customers, even when there is the need to recall a rule.

26/12/2025: I'm sorry to have to share my negative and disappointing experience. On December 22nd, I went to the store and placed an order for a deli for Christmas Eve, clearly specifying the pickup date. When I went to pick it up, I discovered that the order wasn't available because they had marked the wrong date. I understand that there's a lot of confusion during the Christmas period, but that's precisely why we expect greater attention, especially when it's such an important date. The result was that I was left without what I ordered, resulting in considerable inconvenience. It's a shame because the quality of the products could be good, but the organization and order management definitely need improvement.

We ordered a portion of orecchette (we had eaten elsewhere and liked them) and a portion of lasagna, and when they were brought to us we were surprised that they didn't bring us the parmigiano, only after we requested them and waited for a while. The basil was burnt on the edges (a sign that it had been put in the oven with the lasagna, but unfortunately we overlooked this "detail"), and the portion of orecchette was swimming in a soup of something that was supposed to be a sauce. What was annoying was that the orecchiettes were cooked differently (some soft and others very hard) and when we told them this they said they couldn't do it, then that if we wanted we wouldn't pay for them, then that they would bring us more, finally the woman who served us didn't come to the table and sent the bar boy to collect our bill (in full of course) who told us that we had eaten the portion anyway so it had to be paid. We asked for someone to come and discuss it with us and things had already escalated. We asked to pay and we left with a bitter taste. Total lack of professionalism.

24/10/2025: I tried the “Gnocchi di patate al sugo” and they were delicious—very flavorful with an excellent texture. For dessert, I had tiramisu and I really liked it too. The prices are great — I paid 20 euros in total — and the service was very friendly and fast. They also have the traditional orecchiette, which look amazing as well. I’d definitely repeat the experience!
