12/10/2025: Definitely the most wholesome, delicious pizza around! The pizza dough is supposed to rest for 72 hours. This way, nothing sits heavily on the stomach, in my experience.

26/12/2025: I'm sorry to have to share my negative and disappointing experience. On December 22nd, I went to the store and placed an order for a deli for Christmas Eve, clearly specifying the pickup date. When I went to pick it up, I discovered that the order wasn't available because they had marked the wrong date. I understand that there's a lot of confusion during the Christmas period, but that's precisely why we expect greater attention, especially when it's such an important date. The result was that I was left without what I ordered, resulting in considerable inconvenience. It's a shame because the quality of the products could be good, but the organization and order management definitely need improvement.

13/04/2026: Unfortunately, my experience at Zonzi was extremely disappointing. Let's start with the bathrooms: they were uneven, dirty, and in truly disrepair, which is unacceptable for a restaurant. The service was equally terrible. They seemed disinterested and unprofessional. As for the food, I can only say it was bland and devoid of any character. I found nothing that justified the time and money spent. I absolutely do NOT recommend visiting this restaurant. There are definitely better options in the area.

As a Level 8 Local Guide, I always strive for the right balance between expectation and reality, and tonight 'Il Re della Pizza' in Gallipoli nailed it. I'd seen Cristian's viral videos, and while he's hilarious and captivating on social media, it's in front of the oven that he shows his true worth. The pizza is exactly as he describes it: light, easy to digest, and made with top-quality ingredients. It's not just marketing, it's true passion. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service makes you feel at home. If you're in Gallipoli, this is a must-see. Highly recommended!

22/03/2026: WOW! The food is wonderful 🤩 Everything is delicious. The only flaw is in one of the off-menu dishes, the spaghetti with lobster. The lobster is very chewy, but otherwise it's a spectacle. Trust me and go there.

09/03/2026: The food is excellent; it's simple, traditional cuisine, with a seasonal menu that respects the ingredients. The seafood linguine is excellent. The restaurant is located in Acaya, a small village in the province of Lecce, a short walk from the castle. There's a lovely fireplace. The service is friendly. 100% recommended.

01/11/2025: I don't recommend it! We ordered a portion of orecchette (we had eaten elsewhere and liked them) and a portion of lasagna, and when they were brought to us we were surprised that they didn't bring us the parmigiano, only after we requested them and waited for a while. The basil was burnt on the edges (a sign that it had been put in the oven with the lasagna, but unfortunately we overlooked this "detail"), and the portion of orecchette was swimming in a soup of something that was supposed to be a sauce. What was annoying was that the orecchiettes were cooked differently (some soft and others very hard) and when we told them this they said they couldn't do it, then that if we wanted we wouldn't pay for them, then that they would bring us more, finally the woman who served us didn't come to the table and sent the bar boy to collect our bill (in full of course) who told us that we had eaten the portion anyway so it had to be paid. We asked for someone to come and discuss it with us and things had already escalated. We asked to pay and we left with a bitter taste. Total lack of professionalism.

24/10/2025: I tried the “Gnocchi di patate al sugo” and they were delicious—very flavorful with an excellent texture. For dessert, I had tiramisu and I really liked it too. The prices are great — I paid 20 euros in total — and the service was very friendly and fast. They also have the traditional orecchiette, which look amazing as well. I’d definitely repeat the experience!

22/02/2026: The Universo restaurant is truly a universe of flavors and Salento hospitality. I stopped for Sunday lunch and everything was delicious: fresh and tasty dishes, good house wine, and the orange and almond cake that finished it all was excellent. The staff were truly kind and helpful, never intrusive.

08/02/2026: A Sunday Lunch Between Seafood Flavors and Family Warmth There's nothing better than gathering the family around a table filled with the aroma of salt and tradition. Our lunch at Ristorante Universo was a true journey of flavor, an experience that celebrated the quality of the ingredients with a touch of creativity. The variety of dishes made sharing a constant pleasure: We started with a lively mix: from crispy mixed fried fish to classic mixed fried fish (always a surefire hit for adults and children), through to a refreshing octopus and shrimp salad and exquisite au gratin mussels, perfectly golden. The First Courses (The Heart of the Lunch): The real star was the seafood risotto. Perfectly creamed, with a vibrant touch of saffron and more. Equally worthy were the spaghetti all'Adriatica and paccheri agli abissi, rich dishes where the pasta captured every nuance of the sea. Even the French fries, served rustically, lived up to the standards of a carefully crafted lunch. We ended on a high note with a jar of tiramisu, creamy and authentic in flavor, the perfect way to cap off a special Sunday. Ristorante Universo confirms itself as an excellent choice for those seeking the legacy of tradition (the good kind, passed down from generation to generation) combined with attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere. A place where "eating well" means feeling at home, but with the privilege of having the best of the catch on your plate. Highly recommended for those who want to turn an ordinary Sunday into a wonderful memory.

09/04/2026: Very nice place, clean and with attention to every detail. Everything was delicious, from appetizers to dessert. From one to ten, it's a ten for me. I'll definitely be back.

21/03/2026: We had dinner at this truly charming place, with the staff ready to welcome you at the door. The menu is set and includes a selection of appetizers, a first course, a second course, and dessert. Drinks are not included. The appetizers are delicious and beautifully presented. The vegetable tempura is good, the cheeses are excellent, and the veal with tuna sauce is excellent. Paccheri with tomato sauce and Colonnata lard are simple and flavorful, served in a baking dish to share. The second course, suckling pig with mashed potatoes, is also delicious. For dessert, there's chiacchiere with tiramisu cream. The atmosphere is very pleasant, especially near the fireplace.

08/02/2026: I have to report two unfortunate incidents: I know the restaurant thanks to The Fork, and after eating there a couple of times, I decided to return and book through the The Fork app. First incident: I booked through The Fork on New Year's Eve with the regular à la carte menu and a 20% discount, with confirmation of the reservation via email. I was contacted a day before and told that the reservation could be confirmed, but the discount would not be applied, and the à la carte menu was transformed into a fixed menu at an unreasonable price. Obviously, my refusal resulted in the cancellation of the reservation, ruining New Year's Eve (but that's understandable). Second incident: Last night, I booked through The Fork for two with a 20% discount, and 1 hour before the booked time, I was contacted and told that they had an issue with the portal and that my reservation could not be confirmed (even though I have the restaurant's confirmation email)! Nor do I speak to friends who use The Fork, and they too have received last-minute cancellations due to technical problems on other days. Repeat offender!!! The doubt remains... and the disappointment is profound!!!

13/08/2025: Excellent experience! The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, especially the owner, Mr. Raffaele. The dishes were delicious, carefully prepared, and plentiful: the secret, he told us, was his mother's cooking. There are very few restaurants like this in Salento. Highly recommended!
