07/10/2025: Edit following somewhat hysterical response from the business to the original review below: According to my Google Timeline, first time we were turned back at 11:43. We were back at 12:30, at which point we only experienced additional unpleasantness when two ladies asked to use the toilet and were treated with utter disrespect. Also, we never asked for "two cappuccinos". If I could give less than one star for treating customers with such disdain, I would. Original review: Completely empty inside, but we were not allowed to have a drink at 11:45 due to "this time being meant for lunch". Zero pragmatism.

01/10/2025: We chose this place because almost all the other restaurants were closed for lunch. The spritz was deliciously mixed, but we were disappointed with the food. The octopus pucce, in particular, was far too greasy; the oil was practically dripping out. The other one was okay, but fell short compared to the other pucce we've had here in Apulia. With the exception of one of the waiters, the service seemed rather unmotivated, and the wait times were quite long. The square in the alleyway is beautifully situated; you can watch the hustle and bustle from here.

29/09/2025: The place has a lot of potential, both for its location and its food (which is still good quality). But the organization, the ownership, and (some) of the staff definitely ruin the experience. After my first visit, I gave it a second chance, because anyone can have a bad night. Instead, my first impression was confirmed: total disorganization, rudeness (even bordering on rudeness), unreasonable wait times, and a lack of customer service. Tension was also evident among the staff (with heated arguments in one of the main dining rooms). There won't be a third chance.

11/09/2025: We wanted to book through The Fork, but when we couldn't, we asked the owner if we could get the same discount, which he claimed didn't apply at lunchtime. The prices aren't at all what they advertise on The Fork. Nevertheless, it was really good. The owner is very friendly, and the setting is very pleasant, with a vaulted room playing pleasant music. It's worth the detour.

23/08/2025: Extremely poor value, mediocre quality, and high prices... A false sense of etiquette isn't enough to justify high prices. Two perfectly identical fish forks and a paper napkin—somewhat amateurish mistakes. The waiter poured the wine into your hand when offering to taste it. The shrimp were obviously frozen, alongside a few authentic ones. The execution of the dishes was acceptable, but could be improved. Overall, a slightly disappointing experience.

12/10/2025: Definitely the most wholesome, delicious pizza around! The pizza dough is supposed to rest for 72 hours. This way, nothing sits heavily on the stomach, in my experience.

28/08/2025: The staff is completely rude and inadequate. The wait is long and they don't give their estimates. Before ordering the pizza, I ask how long it will take; they tell me it'll be ready in 30 minutes. After 45 minutes, there's no sign of the pizza. When I ask, they tell me they'll put it in the oven "right away"...the pizza arrived after 1 hour and 20 minutes. In addition to making you wait, they insist you occupy specific positions. The numbers are too advanced; they shout the name of the person who ordered from the window. Amid all this, if you complain about the service and the delay, they reply, "You're on vacation, I'm working." They clearly don't understand that I pay and they take the money.

04/08/2025: This wasn't what I expected. After my initial visit, I expected a perfect pizza. The pizza is baked in a wood-fired oven. The atmosphere was pleasant. We ordered takeout. The dishes were prepared quickly, and the service was very friendly. After tasting the first pizza (Capricciosa), it turned out to have a distinct... fishy flavor that practically dominated everything else. The pizza was certainly fresh, and the seafood ingredients were probably added by accident. The Bralesaola, on the other hand, was dominated by the sharp flavor of the cheese, which was of good quality. But the bresaola wasn't noticeable. They certainly don't serve bad pizza there, but expectations were much higher. And the Capricciosa certainly shouldn't have a strong fishy aftertaste. In any case, if you're hungry, feel free to come in and try it. Don't expect fireworks, though.

20/09/2025: Excellent pizza, as was the location. We'll definitely be back. When we booked, I was told we'd be seated inside, but when we arrived, we found the tables set up outside in the cool. Thanks again.

21/06/2025: We went to this restaurant because of google recommendations and we didn't regret it. The food, service and atmosphere were more than excellent. The owner was approachable and ready to help. Communicative, but unobtrusive. He praised our daughter's choice of dishes several times and it meant a lot to her🤩 Even though we don't speak the same language, they tried to communicate and make our stay there enjoyable! The food is perfect, both in presentation and in flavors. A must visit!!!

17/06/2025: We have been coming to Italy with great pleasure for almost 30 years. Now after 3 weeks in Salento we have again had many beautiful and tasty (fish) dishes.... but this was really such a restaurant that is unforgettable in the list. The Aragosta alla Catalana at this great proud Sardinian host is a real topper! Delicious lobster prepared in Sardinian style. Delicious. Service is extremely correct and friendly. Host a 10+, exactly how you want to be treated as a guest! In addition to the lobster we had a great starter, beautiful Sardinian Vermentino and as a gift a Torrone from the house with liqueur. You have to eat here!

06/10/2025: In the main alley of Otranto, this pucceria offers customers a typical Lecce product made with excellent local ingredients. A must-try.

05/10/2025: It was simply unbelievably delicious, and the gluten-free pasta was a dream. A perfect place for anyone with celiac disease.

02/10/2025: Avoid despite the advice in the guidebook... Mediocre, reheated dishes, and small portions, which was a good thing for us, as it was so bland. Expensive for the quality. The service is minimal and can be attentive...

31/08/2025: Very nice and simple place... the pizza and fried foods are very good... the service could be improved, as not all the waiters pay attention to the tables and it's difficult to get their attention without calling them. I recommend checking the beverage refrigerators, as I received warm beer and, to my disappointment, was told that they were all at that temperature without even changing it... what a shame. Anyway, I want to give you my trust and I'll be back from time to time...

18/10/2025: If you've ever dreamed of a timeless experience, where the concept of quick service is treated like an urban legend, this is the perfect place for you. I ordered a sandwich—not a gala dinner, not a 12-course tasting menu, but a sandwich—and after more than an hour, I'm starting to develop an emotional bond with the table. The staff is kind... in the sense that they ignore you with an almost artistic grace. Maybe they're still teaching bread the meaning of the word "toasted," or maybe they're personally raising the cow for the cheese—I don't know, maybe it's the hallucinogenic effects of the wait. In any case, congratulations: not everyone can transform a simple dinner into a forced meditation experience. When it finally arrives, I look at it: plot twist! It's identical to the one my mother makes me at home. Only at hers it takes me five minutes, and there's even a goodnight kiss included in the service. If you want to explore the limits of human patience, book here. Bring a book. Or two.

09/08/2025: We went to this place for dinner with friends (nine of us). We were served by a young man who was a novice and did a great job despite his obvious awkwardness. The menu is definitely TOO long; none of us really read it, but we chose based on our instincts. I'm sure that if it were slimmed down a bit, it would be better for the manager, waiters, and chef, as well as the customers. Everything was good, but the most absurd thing is the rock-bottom prices. I can't understand how they can keep them so low. We spent €12 each and couldn't finish everything, despite how generous the portions were! The atmosphere is certainly not that of a romantic dinner, but for an evening with friends without too many expectations, it's perfect!

13/08/2025: Excellent experience! The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, especially the owner, Mr. Raffaele. The dishes were delicious, carefully prepared, and plentiful: the secret, he told us, was his mother's cooking. There are very few restaurants like this in Salento. Highly recommended!

26/10/2025: We ate at this restaurant last night. I've never been to Japan, but having visited nearly 50 countries, I know that local flavors are often difficult to replicate perfectly. Therefore, I can't say how similar the cuisine is to authentic Japanese cuisine, but I can certainly express my opinion: the dishes are very tasty and unique. I highly recommend the tempura egg, which is truly delicious, the classic okonomiyaki omelette, the octopus balls, and the shrimp noodles: all very good. Plus, the service was quick, even though it was a Saturday night.
