25/08/2025: I'd like to sincerely thank the owners and all the staff at Agriturismo Santa Chiara. They were always kind and helpful, ready to help us or check in. They offered us a beautiful room overlooking the pool. The included breakfast was delicious, with a nice mix of sweet and savory. Sometimes the lady cooks for guests, and I must say she's truly excellent. I absolutely recommend staying there for dinner, as it was a delicious and warm experience. The agriturismo is large and welcoming, perfect for taking photos or reading a book while relaxing in the sun by the pool. I found a bit of my hometown in them, as they are family-like, kind, and welcoming—just what I was looking for in southern Italy. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe, and welcoming place.

23/12/2025: Excellent bar/cafeteria on the town's main square. Very generous opening hours and the interior decor is truly superb (old stone walls, subtle lighting, etc.). The pastries are also very good, made in the owner's workshop located just 30 meters away. There's real skill involved. The entire team is friendly, except for one waitress who is frankly very unpleasant, which is a shame.

17/07/2026: For anyone craving authentic Salento cuisine, this is the place to be! Even with their house antipasto (recommended for two), you'll be taken on a journey through local flavors: potato pita, panzerotti (croquettes), grilled vegetables, meatballs in tomato sauce and fried, horse meat, anchovies, fresh cheeses, and parmigiana. All this at a decidedly reasonable price. But the real highlight is the secret ingredient: the extremely high quality of the ingredients. Enjoy your meal!

11/08/2026: I've always considered it one of the best ice cream shops. I hadn't been there in about a year and recently returned, but unfortunately it's not what I remembered. The ice creams, for me, have no flavor, and I had to throw out the whipped cream because it had a watery, strange taste.

LONG LIVE GOOD AND TRUE CUISINE....

08/08/2026: A truly awful and completely disappointing experience. During dinner, we found a live cockroach under our table and were forced to kill it ourselves. This is unacceptable for any restaurant serving food. The environment also didn't seem clean or well-maintained, and even more worryingly, the refrigerator where the meat is displayed was dirty and unsanitary. The experience was further worsened by the meat: it was of truly poor quality, tough, and practically inedible. Considering the high price, we expected much better quality. The quality-price ratio was terrible. Unfortunately, it was a negative experience in several respects, and we absolutely cannot recommend this place.

08/08/2026: Horrible experience. I'd be curious to know if the people who left positive comments actually came here. An experience I would never repeat: The hygiene was terrible; I've never seen such a dirty place, especially considering the (horrible) open kitchen. Flies on the meat counter, live cockroaches under the tables, the refrigerator where the meat is displayed was filthy with caked blood. The quality of the meat was terrible; it had a nauseating odor, and it was so soaked in wine that it stank. I don't expect you to justify the poor hygiene; I don't think it's just a day's worth of dirt. And to top it off, we paid a lot for the poor quality of the food. I don't recommend it!!

01/06/2026: We've had the best pizzas here twice! There's a good selection without feeling overwhelming, and the prices are more than fair. Actually, the owner should be encouraged to raise them. The pizzas are ready very quickly and absolutely delicious!

10/06/2026: It's the beginning of the season, the place is very nice, we dined on the terrace and the staff is very kind. I ate the broad bean and chicory puree, it wasn't great, it tasted a little stale, not fresh. It's a shame.

28/05/2026: On the first evening of our Salento walk, we dined at Trattoria Concepita: a great satisfaction after walking almost 25 km. The dishes were delicious and well-prepared, and the atmosphere and staff were very welcoming. Definitely worth a try!

22/03/2026: I had the pleasure of dining at Villa De Donatis, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. Everything was meticulously planned, from the elegant atmosphere to the impeccable service. The meal was simply spectacular: every dish was delicious, prepared with great care and quality. You could clearly taste the passion and care behind every course, and let's not even mention the cake, which was truly sublime: not only beautiful to look at, but also incredibly delicious! 16/10/2025: Bakery offering quality bread, friselline, and biscuits, all expertly made in the old-fashioned way, and you can taste it! My only suggestion (I hope it's implemented) would be to see the words "Wood-fired oven" written on both the sign and the product labels: but Mr. Piero is absorbed in his work and less in communication. Perhaps he takes this type of baking for granted, which is a tradition here, but requires a great deal of effort and dedication from those who make it and shouldn't be underestimated. However, I think it's worth HIGHLIGHTING: everyone in the area knows about it, but there are also tourists and those just passing through, and this could help them better understand and appreciate the effort put into producing their baked goods.
