We really had a really great time.
Impeccable service, wonderful staff, heartwarming food.
Furthermore, an ad hoc vegan menu.
Top wines! And a gem: excellent Sardinian specialties.
I think, however, that the owner is the real factor that makes the difference: study, selection, competence, passion which in a word can be defined as rare.
A restaurant to keep in mind as your very first choice.

Friendly and nice people
Good and appetizing prawn cocktail.
I wasn't convinced by the tempura frying (without tempura) with slightly rubbery calamari and thin fish.
Ditto tuna, a little chewy, served with frozen and poorly reheated potatoes (madness)
Good lemon and myrtle sorbet
High prices for what you eat.
I'm sorry but I wouldn't go back

Rich choice of cold and hot ready meals. Freshly fried cutlets, spit-roasted chicken... Also focaccias and pizzas, wood-fired bread and lots of vegetables and cheeses at the counter. Also wine and food. In short, there is everything here, good and a lot of kindness just a few minutes from Santa Cesarea Terme. It closes at 1.30pm and reopens in the afternoon until 8.30pm
He saved and spoiled us on our August holidays in Vitigliano

Amazing puccia, extraordinary sandwiches for my boys (they voted 10 and praise).
The kindness of the owner Mauro, in accommodating all our whims and needs with availability, friendliness and always with a smile, cannot be described! We felt pampered while enjoying the goodness and delicacies that the place offers. Truly so much choice and variety available, you can't leave unsatisfied.
We will go there again and again!!

22/01/2025: After leaving the cinema it is an obligatory stop. The calzones are delicious and renowned throughout the area. In the evening there is a queue, even though they are churned out almost continuously. Worth the visit.

19/11/2024: Permanently closed, at least as far as the current management is concerned. Avio Bar will reopen with a new look and new management. As for Mr. Luigi and His Lady... Stay tuned.
12/11/2024: One star because it is not possible that the only historic bar in Lecce remaining in the historic center will be closed to be renovated and changed. In the rest of Italy, places like this, with their retro charm and authenticity, are increasingly valued and sought after and instead in Lecce it is a succession of "new" places renovated without a soul and without history. It's truly a shame that this city doesn't know how to valorise its historical activities... culture is really missing.
